  • hehehe now u have 232,299 views. YAY!!!

  • did you tie that knot tight or loose?

  • what did you use for tires

  • EVERYTHING IS SO ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was going to make this but while getting supplies, i took an arrow to the knee

  • sht mic.....

  • PRETTY GOOD LOL GOOD JOB

  • CREEPY

  • Nice!!

  • watever fool u n33d to talk write bitch

  • What is the pole made out of?

  • U SUKK ASS DIS SHIT DNT WORK

  • @ceci13th UR A LOOOSR TALK LK A HOOMAN BENG DUMFUKK

  • ScienceGuyOrg now has two videos and two article on mousetrap cars. I enjoy viewing all the approaches that people take in building the cars. Bill Kuhl

  • ok now lets see u make one that pulls about a pound

  • @huntinater6k how many dogs in the pound?

  • wow i need mine to go 10 feet or More! :(

My sience Project is do friday! :A I want to get an A!

How can i make it go Faster?

  • um thats retarted you need to make bigger wheels and the smallest axle possiblle it will only make it even faster

  • omg. those wheels spun for like 15 seconds straight!! can u give me exact instructions for making this car? and materials. i need it for my science project lol

  • wow to think a simple project of yours turned out to be a mousecar celebrity.... its just awwesomeeeee!!!!!!

  • @SuperHassasin offense taken. there is NO need to say such a hateful thing.

  • fuck yours is good as how did you make itt?????????

  • What type of wire do you use.

  • When I set off my car it doesn't move at all HELP!!!!!!!

  • @PaintballCrue Make sure the wheels and axel are connected. Rewind the string and try again. If the string just unwinds from the axel, tape the end of the string to the axel and wind it up again. If the wheels are slipping, use rubberbands to add grip.

  • but then i think the lever arm will still snap up immediately instead of unwinding slowly like everyone elses =/ i need help pls!

  • im having trouble with my car, i have the lever arm with the string and everything, but when i release the mouse trap, the lever arm thats attached to the mouse trap immediately snaps up and the car doesnt even move, i dont know what to do =/

do the wheels need to be glued to the axel and when the axel moves the wheels move along with it? or is it ok is the wheels and the axel move both seperately on there own

i think mine doesnt work right because the wheels dont move with the axel...

  • @supernaturalgirlx3 thats probably why. make sure the wheels and axel move together at the same time.

  • @tpere12 Well, it shouldn't snap to quickly if the wheels don't spin to fast. Just use your finger and quickly pull your hand away.

  • what a loss of time

  • fast ... but how far will it go

  • It's for the grip. If your doing it on a tile floor or a wooden floor, the plastic wheels will just spin out. Putting rubber bands will give you traction so you don't loose any power and the distance. That's why he said he put 3 washers on each side on the back by the wheels so it weighs it down.

  • Dude, this helped me a lot.

I have to make this for a science project too.

  • What did you use for your bar?

Where did you get it from?

  • Hey, what did you use for the wheels and where did you get them? :-)

  • Go to hobby stores or some places like that. They are usually used for CO2 cars in school. Might be able to order it online as well.

  • hey man i am doin a project for school and i think that this mouse trap is the best one for my project so if you can make a vid on exactly how to make it that would be awesome

  • Well type in mousetrap powered vehicle! and there is tutorial

  • could u make instructions of how to do this? i have the pole attatched, but how do i prevent it from just spinning immediately and popping a wheely?

  • Put weight on the front and rubber bands on the back.

  • coolsauce im getting my A :D

  • thanks so much for the help!

  • what is the black line thing? could u teach me how to atach it to the mousetrap

  • Now that's a good use for a spring mouse trap.

Can't believe there are still some assholes out there using these things to brutally murder mice.

Especially when the no-kill traps are so readily available.

    Great video!

    ,

  • how come urs go so suddenly? and how come urs go so fast?

  • it sucked penis? really? thats origonal...

  • can anybody tell me how you get the wheels to spin and stuff like that? I'm no scientist at that so please reply

btw the video helped me a lot screw mentos and soda im doing this for my school project! Thx

  • some people do it for skool so sux it bitch!

  • hey i was just wondering. what did

you pull to make the wheels start to move.

and what did you attach the string to, the back of the

    axel and the?

    thanks.

  • Attach the string to that black rod you saw, either with glue, or you can took of the long hook from the mousetrap. So pretty much, attach the string to the end of the long pole and and the back axle

  • Why don't you put the car on the floor and demonstrate its capability first. Then review the design.

  • nice car. where did u get the rims?

  • omgsh i just need to know build a basic mouse trap car for my Physical Science(H) class. theres no simple videos on it. but the tips are very helpful. thanks guys.

  • can anyone tell me if i can do this with 4 mouse traps, instead of one? or is it not possible

  • maybe if you have all four traps hooked to the same axel it would give it power and a great start if you have the four traps on seperate axels and have a chain reaction like ruth gold berg machine you would have distance

  • U mean 'Rube Goldburg'

  • um, I'm building a mousetrap vehicle for scioly (science olympiad if you've ever heard of it), adn do you think u could just tell me what the main points of the vehicle are? like, using rubber bands, fishing pole, etc. etc, id really appreciate it

  • Just a quick tip. Your car would go alot further if the mouse trap was placed as far front on the car because the the rod stick far out back and there is a lot of string that is not wound up. For yhose doing this project for school the best material to use is Balsa wood you can find it at any Ace Hardware store or at Home Depot or Hobby Lobby Its very light and holds up to the job.

  • Thanks for the tip, but I'm a senior in highschool now. Don't think I'll be needing a new design for a mousetrap car any time soon. But your tip would do more than just help put more string around the wheels, it would also mean the arm would go farther fowards improving distance even more. How ever, this car was designed to do 3 meters in the fastest time, the fact that it could coast 35 more feet was an added bonus = D

  • how far did it go

  • i am confused on how to attatch the rod

  • me too

  • Hey can u give me detailed instructions to do this? I need to do this for my science project

  • @ThaChingster SAME HERE!!!

  • wat did u use for the axel?

  • i think its part of a coat hanger

  • No, it's much stronger than a coat hanger. It's a copper coated, steel axel

  • 3:14 ? what was that it was a weird sound?

  • the rubber on the wheels rubbing on the wooden table.

  • hey, i was just wondering. What do you use so that the stick / rod goes slower. Because with mine, it just flings full speed forward and the whole car just flips up!

  • give ti bigger wheels or a longer arm for less torque

  • dude just this week i heard the awnser all u have to do is longer string or increase its lengt

  • wrong, wraping more string around the axel than nessisary will cost you speed and distance

  • awesome kart, what did u put on the wheels to give it that tred?

  • There short/ wide rubberbands.

  • let me guess..it was late at night when you film it!

  • is the fishing rod legall

  • idk, but it's fiberglass, not a fishing rod

  • it could go even faster if u added gears! we're building one in engineering class, thank you for your advice and instruction on it. it really help!

  • how do you attach the extension arm

  • What wheels are you using? And did you ductape the back ones or something?

  • wtf, they have a competition for this? How lame.

  • What did you use for an Axle?? Please respond A.S.A.P. If you would please.

  • Okay, i'm really tired of answering old question's like this. ALL THE ANSWERS ARE IN THE OLD COMMENTS!!!!!!!!!!

  • Q.Q nerd?

  • why not put the answers in the description???

  • No one reads that, not from my experience anyway.

  • hey, when u say u cheated the spring on the mousetrap with the wood stick, how did u do it, i cant really see it in the video. do u just like slip a wooden stick in teh spring to make it stronger?

  • hey where did you get your wheels from

  • We're doing a tug of war using these for a phisics project and I was wondering what size of wheels and leaver would be preferable for maximum torque. If small wheels are better for speed, would I get more power using big wheels and a smaller leaver?

  • small wheels = torque. That's what get's it up to speed so fast. Get some really small, wide wheels and a short arm.

  • ha ha i remember making a Mous Trap Car for the science fair! it was really fun to make!

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz uh?

  • how could this thing go if u decided to messure the distance becuz i need to go at least 15 meters to get a D on my project and i am shooting for an A or B so i dont think speed is the thing im shooting for here...

  • if you want distance, check out the other videos on you tube, but big wheels in the back and a fishing rod of a leaver arm is great for distance because it does not just snap right quick and instead it takes more time to unwind

  • um thanks BIGfart7 lol who came up with that idea?

  • thanks for the help.. too bad i cant use half of the shit you did in my project... like wheels

  • lololol his nam is bigfart

  • so fuckinghelpful oxoxoxoxoxo

  • wat kind of materials would u suggest? im doing a project in science. hve to make one of these. need ideas. any help? if u could please

  • yeah same here, i need to order supplies, so do you have a list or something that you can give me. Please and thank you!!

Great car! i would like to build one like that too.

  • that really went fast...

  • wat r those weels were did u get them from wat thing or car and can u explain it to me i need this bad and now

  • woot were making this in woodshop at school

  • and we can't use pre-manufactured wheels

  • Also, what materials should I use and which shouldn't I?

I already made an attempt at a car, and I used 2 foot styrofoam back wheels and 3 inch styrofoam front wheels, a cheap mousetrap, a stick of wood as the chassis...it traveled like 6 inches and fell over :(

  • its confusing!!!!!!!

  • woah! great job that's awesome!

what did you use for wheels? I was going to use cds for mine, but i thought there might be something better out there to use

and do you know if its better to use light weight wood or a type of foam for the frame? Which is better in your opinion?

    thanks!

  • Congratulation yuor car runs verry smoose

  • can i borrow a copy of it. you will get it back after 20th october.

it a 100 points in physic please mate..

  • no wonder its a rat trap...

  • REALLY??? Then I guess I'm using super huge duct tape, wheels, wire, and straws (spacers on the axels). LOOK AGAIN!! Gosh, just because it goes fast doesn't mean I'm using a rat trap.

  • o sorry if i offended u just i cant beleive that something that small could go so fast im building one in tech ed atm

  • I have to build a mousetrap car for my Integrated Physics and Chemistry class

can you PLEASE tell me how to get the mousetrap to make the wheels move?

also, how can I make the car go REALLY REALLY fast and REALLY REALLY far? (it has to go at least 5 meters, but I want mine to be better then everyone elses)

  • Basically, if you want to go far, you want to use large wheels, it won't go fast, but far. If you want it to go fast, use small wheels

  • i think it is an amazing car and his presentation was a little boring but who cares!!!

  • i cant really c it...

  • Ok i have a science project on this but i cant us any all ready made wheels or body. So if u can PLEASE tell me how u did this???

  • Wow, if you think he is stupid and boring why the hell are you watching it you are the one that needs a life.

  • dang it! my car needs fixed i guess i get a mouse trap and make a mouse trap car to go to work. what the hell does this teach kids

  • Nice care dude my wheels are disks and only goes up to 4 meters.I'm thinking of using a rod.

  • haha using a rod lol

  • OMG!!! look at u guyz u guys r friggin smart, talkin bout radius, angular velocites, y dont u figure out E=MCsq. while ya at it

    no jk... nice car though!

  • Boooooring! Go buy some enthusiasm.

  • lol is a mouse ra car...come on how gay can it get, lol obviously he has no enthusiasm lol im wtching and laughing thinking on how bdly this guy gts made fun off lol

  • actually, smaller wheels are worse. angular velocity varies directly with the radius. in terms you can understand, bigger is better.

  • I don't think so. Get enough speed and your car can coast for a long time.

  • preety cool could u make one without using a mouse trap

  • I don't think so.

  • hey great design! how long is your fiberglass pole?

  • these r real good instructions..thnxs

im gonna need it 4 my project..hehe

  • thats good mine can only go for like 8 seconds lol

  • How do you add the extra stuff to the mouse-trap and how come it goes so far?

  • how long is the string?

  • About 6 inches longer than the arm.

  • how many feet does it go?

  • Watch "Ultimate Mouse Trap Car".

  • How much was all your materials worth? I need to build one for a huge final project. I was wondering if you could message me on my user name some major materials you used that helped your car the most. Thanks so much. If you can't, then i just need advice. TY.

  • yo i got it to go like 50 maybe more

  • Great!

  • its that very hard plastic they use in remote-control planes isnt it. forgot its name

  • and with the long stick, what type of material is it, plastic or metal ?

  • I guess you could call it plastic.

  • wow mine only goes 10 feet

  • Keep working on it. I'm sure you can make it go farther.

  • did you use any ball-bearings ?

  • Nope. The steel axels running on the small, smoothed surface of eyescrews.

  • nice car

  • Have you measured how far it went?

  • 44+ feet.

  • thats it lol

  • Would it be possible to zoom in more? I couldnt see well enough.

  • what kind of pole did you use? and hoe did you get the washers on the car

  • The pole is a fiberglass kite dowl, and I used masking tape to hold the washers on the back of the car. Axels are copper coated steel dowls 1/8th of an inch thick. Frame (body) is 2/8th of an inch thick plywood.

  • I actually have to make a car for physics and im working on it right now i have to idea what to do regarding the bar or the wheels what kind of bar is it and how did you get the washers on it?

  • There CO2 car wheels. My Techlab teacher had some because it's a project for the 8th graders.

  • my friend is doin dis n ets hard..

  • i'm doing a mouse trap car now, well in the process of buiding it and i don't understand how u get the car moving. like i know u wrap the string around it and then after that how do u get in going and spinning?

  • HI MR JOHNSON

  • ???????????????????

  • i thnik you go to my school O_O

  • No, homeschooled.

  • omfg your so lucky..

    then again......

  • About how far does that go? And how long is that stick?

  • here in our school we had a mousetrap car racing..and the winner's moustrap car runs very fast with a long distance..it takes the whole basketball court..

  • Won't the pull the pole exerts on the back wheels' axle rip it right off from the main frame?

  • No.

  • CO2 car? Is this special or can it be found like in the hardware store?

That thing's freakin fast! The string winding is a useful one, I'm making one for the infamous Physics class... Thanks!

  • sorry for all the questions, but how far did your car go?

  • also, what type of mouse trap did you use? Victory?

  • did you use a wooden dowel for the axles, and did you use screw eyes to hold the axles to the car? im building a car right now and i was just looking for a couple tips

  • How do you attach the long arm to the mousetrap? Also what the bosy made of?
