I was born and raised in the north and have lived in the south. Frankly, the southerners are the ONLY ones who bring up the civil war, and it's brought up fairly often too. Having grown up in Philadelphia, I can tell you that northerners don't care about the civil war. At least nowhere near to the extent that southerners do. I mean here in the south, they have civil war "anti-yankee" bumper stickers. You just don't hear or see that kind of stuff up north.

This video has been on YouTube for 5 years now, and the only thing supporting it are the comments people have left. I am still surprised that nobody has posted a video response on it. Then again, this video doesn't really say much. Someone who didn't know would think this person hates NC entirely b/c of the weather; when, in fact, there is more to hate than a bunch of severe thunderstorms (that happened in 2006).
P.s. My family has a cabin in the mountains,one in the middle of the state on the South Carolina boarder,and I live at the beach..BTW I have also been all over this state,traveled other states,and out of the country as well.So, when I say this I love my state and I say that proudly even tho our economical stand points are not at there best..But this is one of the states by statistics that people move to...

Not to mention that NC also has some of the dumbest laws in the country. I know it's an upgrade compared to VA and/or SC where you can't get alcoholic beverages period on Sundays but still. I was amazed how liquor is for sale at Costco in California. Here in NC, FORGET IT (and it's expensive as hell.)

The food available in the U.S. consists of a variety of things people have brought with them from other countries and a few of our own creations.
i moved here in 92, and i opened a deli here with my family. we lived in new bern, and i will say, it was like i stepped back in time to 1975, the people had no clue what simple things are. whats a baked ziti? what does cheesecake taste like? whats a meatbal parmigiana? they had no clue, unless it was a collard green, or pork bbq. we lasted about 10 years. i think the ones that travel are more knowledgeable of food. many have never left the county, and dont know much.
Sad but true. Most of the towns in this state are stuck 30+ years in the past. In fact, the 1970's is what they remind me of. I live in the Raleigh/Durham area. While there is more of a selection over here compared to many other parts in NC, it is still a bunch of bull crap IMO. I don't even feel like eating Chinese here anymore. The restaurants are all this buffet style crap and the rice they serve feels like you are biting plastic...

Yep! That's your average NCian in a nutshell. Many of them have never even been out of the state. They get really sensitive when you say something about their state no matter how true it may be (and they think it's proper.) Another pet peeve of mine about their attitudes has to do with the fact that: a)these people can't drive, b)they are afraid of things they don't understand, c)tie their state behind their butts and go elsewhere bragging about it like it's god. They are so much like Texans.

@steeldragon20002000 florida is not beautiful. ive been there many times. miami beach, fort myers beach, venice beach, saint armands, and sanibel are pretty but north carolina is beautiful. i mean weve got the mountains that are GORGEOUS and then beaches like wilmington. and weve got charlotte that is awesome, and charlotte has southpark mall.

Not to mention there is also a sucky selection of restaurants. There are certain kinds of dishes (i.e. Chicken Shawarma) you can't get the proper way b/c of stupid health codes. Not to mention that NC also has some of the dumbest laws in the country. I know it's an upgrade compared to VA and/or SC where you can't get alcoholic beverages period on Sundays but still. I was amazed how liquor is for sale at Costco in California. Here in NC, FORGET IT (and it's expensive as hell.)

Exactly! I am, like, what is ''Northern food?'' I have never seen anybody eat pig ears down here, but I have seen pig ears for sale in selected supermarkets. The food available in the U.S. consists of a variety of things people have brought with them from other countries and a few of our own creations.

i moved here in 92, and i opened a deli here with my family. we lived in new bern, and i will say, it was like i stepped back in time to 1975, the people had no clue what simple things are. whats a baked ziti? what does cheesecake taste like? whats a meatbal parmigiana? they had no clue, unless it was a collard green, or pork bbq. we lasted about 10 years. i think the ones that travel are more knowledgeable of food. many have never left the county, and dont know much.

Sad but true. Most of the towns in this state are stuck 30+ years in the past. In fact, the 1970's is what they remind me of. I live in the Raleigh/Durham area. While there is more of a selection over here compared to many other parts in NC, it is still a bunch of bull crap IMO. I don't even feel like eating Chinese here anymore. The restaurants are all this buffet style crap and the rice they serve feels like you are biting plastic...

Yep! That's your average NCian in a nutshell. Many of them have never even been out of the state. They get really sensitive when you say something about their state no matter how true it may be (and they think it's proper.) Another pet peeve of mine about their attitudes has to do with the fact that: a)these people can't drive, b)they are afraid of things they don't understand, c)tie their state behind their butts and go elsewhere bragging about it like it's god. They are so much like Texans.

oops, i meant to say that they dont know what a good hot dog is. they have many places that serve these red ones, they are not good, but the locals swear they are better than anyplace in the us. sick. yeah looks like teaxas would be good, its just when i ask people here about it, they always say, they dont like texas, we make the best bbq . ever notice the people in supermarkets are slow? like rigor mortis set in. the only times they rush in nc is for bbq or a nascar race...
