  • Wow, Race Control! Great! We get to watch streaming video, choose in-car cams, and follow all the action on track for practice, qualifying and races! Sound too good to be true...

Well, turns out, IndyCar has now done away with streaming video on Race Control, so this video could be considered as false advertising.

Get it together, Randy, and bring streaming video back.

    RIP streaming video on RC:(

  • Woow...that was so close to the pit wall....and in F1 they complain when Schumacher drives Barichello into the pit wall...they need to man up, this is real action!

One question as an Indy novice though....why was it so easy for him to just catch up and whizz past everyone?.

  • @JDoerp lol man up... F1 has had more grown men in a race than indy in a season

  • @newbowner456 opps my bad lol looked like a game lol soz

  • is this ps3 or xbox 360 or ps2

  • hahahahahaha This is Atari :P

  • It would be boring, Overtaking on a track that as left and right turns are more enjoyable, but I'll give this guy credit nice overtaking

  • ahahahahahhah

    shit cars..

  • @roby70juve wrong, shit track!

  • wow

  • WOW that guy is fast!!!

    Nice overtaking!

  • 5 cars overall that he overtook in just one lap. Is that fast or what.

  • that really is kinda cool

  • I could watch a whole race with only in car cameras

  • E.C. kicks ass Im so glad he will be at long beach where he belongs.Racing!!Hope he wins to make up for all the krap he has been put through.GO #3...

  • man Helio didn't do shit your the greedy mother fucker

  • This is like watching an onboard camera for f1, but boring

  • look how many people he overtook

  • Tinha que ser um Brasileiro mesmo pra ter essa coragem toda... e se naum fosse a chuva ele vencia essa corrida... ele tava voando nessa hora....

i coment in my language ok... if you don't understand my language use you a translator ok!

  • stop at 0:14 Holy SH..

  • Helio Castroneves es el mejor piloto que he visto en mi vida, un verdadero campeon

  • good grief that wall would have speared him if he was pushed into it.. 0_o I don't see how you would live after that yikes..

  • That pass at the front stretch was incredible, need big balls for it^^

  • I honestly could hardly read that message.

  • Thank you for letting us know how short-sighted you are.

You honestly have little respect for race car drivers in general if you think F1 is the only 'real' form of racing.

And if you speak a different language, use a translator, that is a barely comprehensible message.

  • que vala por dios, si no es por la bandera se los pasa a todos.GENIAL

  • WOW. Was that CLOSE!! LMAO!!

    Go HELIO!

  • You need to appreciate the skill of F1 drivers. If you think about it, in F1qualifying, the cars end up in order of fastest to slowest. There's not going to be much overtaking. On ovals, slipstreaming means there always is. Look at the F1 race at Monza in 1969. Okay, they turn left all the time, but you've got to appreciate their skill. The drivers may be the tier below F1, maybe even below GP2 (in terms of feeding F1), but these drivers go at 200mph with a concrete wall at the side. Not shabby.

  • F1 racing is just a bunch of snooty rich bastards playing follow the leader with each other... Indycar racing is REAL racing.. you know, where cars ACTUALLY PASS EACH OTHER...cars actually RACE.. but who on earth would wanna see that right? I wanna see F1 where a car simply touches another car and both cars retire from the race.. yeah that's racing

  • This must be one of the saddest forms of racing ever...scratch that nascar takes that cake. but this comes pretty close. Seriously, all your doing is watching a car turn left...go straight...turn left..go straight...repeat some 200 times (on some tracks its 350...350 fucking laps of a car turning in the same direction). Not to mention this type of racing is stupidly dangerous, cruising at 350 Kph to spin and hit a barrier. It'll be a sad day when someone dies on an oval again.

  • In all honesty the best things to come out of Indycars are the indy 500 (I wont lie, it is of course where motorsports began) and Danica Patrick (God damn she's hot).

  • It would be cool to try the real thing. Even on a test track. Gotta put that on my bucket list.

  • Pathetic comments...typical YouTube bullshit.

  • 1. IRL does not run only on ovals, and since camp car is going to be IRL as well, there will be even more road coarses this year 2. Ask any race car driver that goes from F1 to stock car or open wheel cars in the US and they will say F1 cars pratically drive themselves, granted F1 cars are amazing, but are easier to drive 3. I go to the Indy 500 every year, The brickyard once and a while, and i have been to F1 races...and by far the F1 race is the worse race...if you can even call it a race

  • @beas08 No, they don't actually. F1 race was the worst, because there were actual corners?

    Faster, more overtaking.

  • well, i say i'd still kick all of your asses, be it on a circle or circuit (if it were GT4). jk, i really don't care for this cuz rally racing is so much better.

    again, jk.

  • This is great:) I've tried to watch f1 and there's something about no passing and follow the leader for 2 hours that just doesn't appeal to me. I know they (F1) have the most powerful cars or whatever but they do nothing except ride around following each other all day! at least with Indy and Nascar there's PASSING OMG!! a Car actually passing another car, what a concept!!, i mean that's pure genius. Formula 1 is pretty sad because they do have awesome cars but they do nothing with them.

  • Of course I'd like to see a snob like you try and drive an Indy Car... seriously your arguements are some of the worst I've seen yet, and that's saying something...

  • I like all racing, ovals and Road courses but i mostly like speed and drivers being on the edge and ovals certainlly provide more of that. It doesn't matter if it's road courses or ovals after a while it's the same track and the same turns over and over again but at least with an oval course you can run 3 or 4 wide side by side where a road course might require more skill all it is is follow the leader over and over where each car is 5 seconds apart and anybody after 5th place has no chance.

  • everyone sounds like an idiot when they argue about road/oval racing...why cant u just shut the fuck up and like both of them.

some people who rock on ovals suck at road courses...BUT some people that rock on road courses suck on ovals...

  • Get half of these guys on a track that turns both right and left and most of them get lost. Scott Dixon has even said in some interviews in NZ that racing on an oval is no where near as difficult as a true circuit. Yes the G forces are there and all but come on its like comparing drag racing to circuit racing. anyone can go fast in a straight line or in the case of IRL in a circle.

  • i totally agree, going in a circle is way easier than going through a real circuit, i don't wanna say which is generally funnier because one likes what he likes, but for me what is more difficult is funnier and in this case there is no arguing about what is more difficult.

  • thats bullshit, you're not taking all the factors into consideration. if you weren't so ignorant you'd understand theres so much more then to just turning left.. this isn't freaking NASCAR, this takes skill.

open wheel nascar, your a bafoon, NASCAR is a joke compared to the IRL. but it's not worth tying to explain how great this sport truly is when F1 haters wont bother to listen, or like to ignore the fact that this is a great sport thats about to get better with this merger.

  • theres a lot more then to just turn left... Damn Right!! You also need to brake and accelerate and that's it. Open wheel nascar that's what this is. The concetration needed here is just an 10% or maybe less than the one that's needed on F1.

  • haha F1 drivers used to shit when they met some one from Indiana.. F1 drivers wanted to race this track so bad and a lot of them did

to say this race isn't exciting (INDY500) you should be slapped! no G forces?! how much banking do you see on that track? they are going 220+mph, thats an endurance race that is like no other in the world.

Indy is no cheap F1 substitute, it's the real deal and so is this legendary track. if you weren't haters you'd know theres a lot more then to just turn left.

  • many racers such as montoya came from contests like indy, sucked really bad and returned back where they came from. F1 is way more difficult, you all talk about g forces and stuff, F1 has those and guess what? they have to turn their wheel the other way from time to time and pass a car on circuits with way less space than indy. Come on, you are so pathetic. G force, that is all you came up with as reason for stating indy is more difficult. Sad.

  • win 2 500

  • this is what you call sad american racing... Cheap way of formula one... HAHAHAHAHA... Just cuz the US has no F1 team. Sad people.

  • true, totally. They force that indy stuff just because in f1 they suck really bad. They always exclude all sports they suck at and make their own. American footbal??? at real, old school rugby played in europe all those superstars would suck soooooo bad. Same goes for indy. F1 is way too sofisticated for americans. They like going in circles, so be it.

  • very thanks

  • Its not that easy. Doing it at 200+ mph for a period of time requires a lot of concentration.

  • u obviously dont realise how much concentration these professionals put into driving.

you obviously dont know about the forces of understeer and oversteer that they must overcome to race the perfect lap. and to do that at those speeds requires bull bollocks

  • i know the concentration it needs and everything, im just saying it's not exciting for me, i respect those racers, i'm not saying it is easy neither nothing like that.

I just don't find it exciting to watch it myself.

  • I am an American and most here only know how to go in 1 direction. Yes round and round.

  • that is in indianapolis???

  • racers come from all over the world but hole.

  • waaaaa!!!

incredible, he pass any mm to the wall!!

    __--

waaaaaaaaaaa paso a milimetros de la muralla. increible!!! mucha calidad!!

ojala que ahora la transmitan en mi pais.

  • round and round and round... do americans see how boring this is?

  • Erm...no.

  • If anyone knows of a video like this which spills the beans on Scientology please PM it to me. I have seen many people mention Scientology after seeing this video so now I am curious.

  • very cool - it puts you right in the driver's seat - fun

  • I just love Helio. This will be my first indy500 race. Hope he wins.

  • I love IRL and I like Franchitti, Kanaan and Castroneves too bad Dario is at Nascar Sprint Cup now. Nascar isn't that nice as Indy car.

  • damn. this is going to be sooo sick.

  • i love that clip. Helio is the best!

  • and that is how you past three cars at once. GO Helio.
