ive had recco, yamaha, pearl and two tama kits, my personal preferance is the hardware, to me tama rules! sonor is better equiptment than mapex rings are to thin!
well thats the same with most drum companys, u generally hav to ask and get the bass drum without any holes in it and get the toms mouted on a arm or sumtin
oh well most pearl toms dnt hav a hole in them, the arm is mounted with a bracket on the outside of the drum, very few pearl kits hav a hole in there tom anymore
@Munittt yeah i agree. aside from being pricey DW ,when you look at it, it's not that special aside from the fact that it is hand made and thats it. but when you look at pearl reference and you see its pricey, is because its pretty much loaded with the good stuff and thats good enough for me.
the lads on this vid seem to know wheat their talking about, can u give me some advice.
I got a budget kit for about £350 5 years ago and since have bought 2 quality pearl crashes & a ryde, and some new skins fot the toms. i nead a new pedle and high-hat. any recomendations? (i dont want to spend mega bucks) ... belt or chain, whats the difference
Id go with a tama lever glide hi hat stand there smooth tuff and the tension adjusts a fair amount and is very comfortable, Pedals I say try many but I have a belt one and wished I had gotten a chain as it is a bit more conistant and snaps back faster its also tuffer too and the tension you can put in a pedal seems higer on the chain I say get a chain!
sorry to say, but Pearl doesnt have quality cymbals, now you could bash me, or think about it, just had to say it, im a pearl drummer btw, anyway, to answer your question, 414Z414 gave you a very gd option, or if you're searching for a single pedal instead of twin, you could go for the p-120 or p-120P, my advice would be the p120p. :)
sorry to say, but Pearl doesnt have quality cymbals, now you could bash me, or think about it, just had to say it, im a pearl drummer btw, anyway, to answer your question, 414Z414 gave you a very gd option, or if you're searching for a single pedal instead of twin, you could go for the p-120 or p-120P, my advice would be the p120p. :)
I think most drum companies make good drums but the only ones that I would spend money on are Tama or Pearl. I dislike DW as they are ugly and there floaty hi hat feel is akward, Sonor is good but I think Tama sounds better so does Pearl. I think Mapex absolutely sucks ass I had a starter set and it fell apart in 5 months of daily playing, none of the drums could hold a tune for more than 5 hits, hi hat fell apart, they also sounded terrible no matter how I tuned them.
really?? I've had a maypex set for over a year playing it usually 2 or three hours a day and people still comment all the time on how good it sound maybe you got a bad kit or I got a really good one
Im Torn between Pearl and Tama, I wonder how the warlord sounds compared to the referance?
Things I love about Tama- tuff, beautifully crafted, sound great, best value, shattering rim shots with big di cast rims, easy to tune and disasemble. Things I like about Pearl maybe the best quality, my favorite drummer plays them, Ive hear the referance is the best sounding kit in the world But I have never heard it in person or compared it to a top notch Tama so i dont know.
there is no BEST drum company out there. Thats rediculous. If there was a best drum company out there, all the pros would be playing them. It's all about preference. It's not about who plays what, its what a company has that you are looking for. Its about sound, not fluff shit loyalty or who plays them.
can someone tell how good is export or ELX Pearl?? because i'm thinking to buy one, besides which one do you think sound better an export or ELX Pearl or a Mapex Pro M series????
yeh pearl is garbage...too expensive and too many problems especially with hardware. DW probably has the best drums but also very expensive. thats why i settled with tama. excellent sounding drums with the best hardware available and a great price.
and pearl's drums are ment for ppl u knoe wtf their doing, so if u have probably tunning, it aint the drum guy. like tama is great, dw is expenisve but g reat, pearl is great, and practically the best.
wat? wtf?????? dude. fucking take ur shit back, and tell them if they send u broken shit. pearl export, pearl elx, pearl master, pearl vision and even fusion are basically the best kits u can buy. dw is expensive. like go on their site, make the smallest kit, and ur looking atleast 3,000.
grow up man,ive played the higher end kits of tama, yamaha, sonar,dw and pearl. i liked them all but stayed with pearl. maybe you should play a few kits and youll see that no drums are shit
I think if we really wanna have to categorize which drums are the best, taking everything drum-wise and putting it all together, it'd be something like:
1) Pearl
2) DW
3) Yamaha
4) Ludwig
5) Tama
That'd be the top five. Of course, what I say goes, 'cause I'm saying it on YouTube so I must be right.
my god people i dont use that cymbal that much i agree myself brass cymbals do sorta of suck i try to use the zildjan ride cymbal i don't know why yaw don't understand i just dont feel like buying another freaking cymbal so please just quit talking about the pearl cymbal my god!
I agree with that other dude that many companies make good drums. I just happen to play and love pearl. They make a great product all around. Whatever you're looking for, they make it. And yeah, brass cymbals suck.
Yamaha makes some nice drums (explain why Steve Gadd uses Yamaha?). So does DW, and Gretsch, and Tama, and Sonor, and Ludwig, and Pearl. My point, none of them are crappy and they all make something that's pretty nice!
yamah the dood who sed yamaha must suck pearl is da pioneers of drums man i bought fusion elx kit awesome bllack and grey shit all overr gay yamaha omg fag get a life people like you pin heads piss me off eat my wang fucking idiot...yamaha lol
Then you don't have experience in other cymbals. Pearl cymbals are brass, and thus the worst cymbals possible. You need to buy stuff like SABIAN AA or Paiste 2oo2 to hear how crappy the brass really is.
well i am 12 yrs old its just a pearl ride cymbal i only use it just a little bit but my momma won't let me buy anymore drum stuff + i play at my church and is already taken up enough room the zildjan hi hat and the meduim ride are zbt's and a free zht splash came with set and i have a paiste splash on a cymbal stacker so please qiut arguing with me!
Yahama dont even focus on drums, they also make home theatre stuff, bikes, boats, jet ski's, engines, piano's, guitars and various other things that dont relate to drums
haha...that's awesome. I dunno, I guess all the manufacturers have their top-end,mid, and low-end stuff, and so really, it just comes down to personal preference. myself, I have a Pearl kit, and I love their hardware...though, I'd have no problem playing a Tama, DW, Gretsch, or any number of kits. Ultimately, though, I think I'd probably want an original Ayotte kit.
oi whats with the meh, theyre one of, if not the best manufacturers of drums/drumkits/percussion etc around today! their cymbals may suck LOL but theyre just for begginers! PEARL RULE..
