@RandomStevie both some people just can't catch very narrow due to body structure so wider might work for you. If you can't get to depth at all you have some flexibility issues since a squat is a very natural movement that any human should easily be able to get into. Practice squatting more, grab toes and pull yourself into the squat position, sit in squat and push knees out with elbows ext. Work on hip flexibility lots of videos online that can help you.
pat is already the strongest american lifter right now, and it took him only what 2 years training at his current gym? That is remarkable plain and simple. Other countries have there lifters start training under a coach much earlier and don't peak until there early 20's many times. He has put in the work but you really do have a prodigy on your hands and he could be breaking some american records fairly soon. I don't know if gold is possible at 2012-2016 I think is better goal- but good luck

Is there any reason that pat begins his lifts the way he does...with his knees extended and then droping down into his pulling position? Most of the lifters i have seen set up by putting themselves in the position they will begin the pull from.....

Broz, might be ruffling some feathers but no disrespect intended: I want to ask why your lifters hit pretty hefty weight in training but they lift well shy of that at Nationals? I've seen Bybee snatch 125 but in competition 115. And Pat hit a 207 snatch but snatched 177 at Nationals. Injury, competition jitters, maybe? I'm earnestly curious and again no disrespect intended.
@man10941 gotta go 6/6 to hit the big ones. Billy actually made 127.5 3x in training, and was ready for at least 125 at the meet. attempts were supposed to be: 115,120,125. miss, make, miss = 115
@man10941 I believe this is standard. Bybee's conceivable max is probably around 128. 115 is 90% of his conceivable snatch. These are the numbers you usually see for most lifters in competition. If he hit 120, it would be roughly 93-94% and an impressive lift. A 125kg snatch would be HELLA IMPRESSIVE. You have to take into account that most of the videos that coach Broz puts up are attempts. They are probably not the first attempt, probably the 20th attempt or maybe even more.
