I am no fanatic. I am a Christian. And if not agreeing with every piece of crap this show has put out makes everyone a "finatical prick", then billions of people around the world would be so. Watching this show will only slowly destroy your real-life faith in God. Isn't that true for you?
as far as we know angels and demons when they die we have no clue what happens to them maybe purgatory maybe demons become purified and become spirits in heaven they haven't revealed that in the show officially yet but when you burn human bones of a spirit they either go to heaven or hell i assume depending on the if they were good or evil but they said when crowley's son's spirit was raised crowley said to "burn his bones send him down to me"
@Eldominicanoronny "There are only five things in all of creation that gun can't kill". Archangels count for four of those and it makes sense God is the last. It's five things not five things and Death.
@M4ttM3224 The colt cannot kill God in my opinion but God is not a being of creation. God is the creator of everything so its really 6 things that the colt cannot kill if you ask me.
I think Alastairs' first vessel (Mark Rolston) was killed off because the scenes on "On The Head Of Pin" required Alastair to be more physical. And in my opinion, Mark Rolston won't fit in much due to age.
If I may add on whos stronger, Azazel or Alastair. ALASTAIR: the only white eyed demon besides Lilith, matched angels, cant be killed by the Knife & can travel to/ from Hell anytime (so exorcism is moot). AZAZEL: the only "Yellow Eyes," is immune to salt & holy water, pretty much orchestrated the show, & said the Colt's the only thing in the universe that can "shoot him dead."
Overall: Alastair is much more powerful, but Azazel is more invulnerable & important amongst the supernatural community
@Mindaugas7100 Casey said in 3x04 that Azazel was their leader. So regarding authority Azazel>Alastair. Azazel is pretty much on par with Lilith regarding power and they are both more powerful than Alastair.
@M4ttM3224 right, but remember that casey cant get back into hell, and in hell alastair was the leader(under lilith) since he tortured souls. and one of the demons called azazel as a tyrant when lilith was back in hell. azazel was the leader till devil's gate open, then lilith took over, ofc they don't have to fight each other since they both wanted same think, free lucifer so they ddin't fight each other cause it would be pointless, but i respect ur opinion that azazel>alastair.
@Mindaugas7100 Of course Azazel stopped being the leader when the Devils Gate opened as that's when he died. What makes you think Casey couldn't get back into Hell?
@Joerca44 Shot with the colt and stabbed with a lower - level demon killing knife are very different. They are in Purgatory (not Hell). Alastair was shown to be harmed by salt and Holy water whilst Azazel was immune to both.
@Joerca44 In 6x07 the Alpha Vamp' says stat every "freak" (monster) that dies is sent to Purgatory. I think it's also stated in 6x12 but I'm not sure.
@Joerca44 On Supernatural the Vamp's were once human like the Demons. You have a good point but if killing a Demon sent them back to Hell then why not just exorcise them? And why haven't any killed Demons returned?
the demons that are killed by the colt and knife are probably much deeper in hell, thats what i think, and just to be sure what makes you think they would return, the gates from hell is closed
@Joerca44 Demons seem to crawl out of Hell quite frequently on this show and don't forget that Lilith was "neck deep in the pit" and Azazel broke her out.
@M4ttM3224 actually azazel made some guy broke her out, we all know it was all a plan to bust out lucifer, ruby did the rest of the job, lilith would of break seals herself anyways we know she was the key.
well i was just saying demons has be in hell after all they probably humans that made deals or bad people, i mean you know what i mean good & bad can never fade away it has to be somewere...
Demons are twisted spirits and as far as we know, when a spirit is killed (i.e. bones burned) it's sent to purgatory like the rest of the monsters.
They may not have specifically said anything about demons being sent to purgatory, but they also didn't say anything about them not being sent there and I think they just want us to assume that the same rules apply to them.
@M4ttM3224 what I'm guessing is because Azazel is a fallen Angel turned into a Demon, so those two don't affect him but other than the Scythe and Angel blade the only other thing that can kill an Angel is The Colt.
@Eldominicanoronny You say Azazel is a Fallen Angel turned Demon but other than the reference to the real Azazel in 4x22 and the unique eyes and powers and him saying in the animated series "I was once an Angel of the Lord" there is no evidence supporting that argument. OK, I'll admit that stuff is quite convincing but there is a small chance that he is just an incredibly powerful, old human turned Demon. I don't understand what you're referring to with 'those two don't affect him'.
Just wondering...most of you are atheists/agnostics, right? I mean, I don't think many Christians watch this show...just wondering...I mean, it's a show that uses lots of Christian mythology, but pretty much doesn't seem to care much about real-life religion or Christians much...
@Rafafalati14 Yeah...I find that interesting. I have some Muslim and Jewish friends who watch Supernatural (and love it!), but no Christians or Catholics. It's weird.
...Because--- Lilith is the "Queen" of Hell and the ORIGINAL demon. She's white-eyed. Alastair's also white-eyed. This obviously means white-eyed=ruling class of demon. There's no need for a f***ing debate and disagreements to this from Azazel-fans =P. Crowley's Lilith's "right-hand-man", which means he's white-eyed as well (seeing as he's the current "king of hell" in season 6).
How OBVIOUS is it that Azazel (the first demon introduced in Supernatural), is UNDER Lucifer, Lilith, Alastair and Crowley (who's now the "King of Hell" ref-Season 6). White-Eyed = Ruling Class of Demons. Kripke has mentioned this, and if you don't believe me, then look it up. Just because Azazel was 'portrayed' to be powerful in the earlier seasons doesn't mean he's powerful compared to these guys. Azazel's an AGENT of Lucifer: he's specialized, not necessarily 'powerful'.
All of you speak as though you actually know who is Lilith (the destroyer) She is a mythological demon in Jewish mysticism. (It's so sad when people believe everything they see on tv.
If anything Alastair might be stronger then azazel but thats a toss up.....the logic is white eyes are the strongest..... but then again in the bible they say azazel is actually a fallen angel. so i would think azazel is stronger
where in hell in supernatural did it says white eyes are stronger? Azazel is same or should i say above lilith's level, he was in charge and lilith only took over when he is dead, Also he is the one who created sam who killed lilith afterwards, He is also the leader of the demonic legion, so Azazel is definitely stronger
@GUnit10705 LOL So are you saying Sam Winchester's more powerful than Lucifer coz he was the one who released him, when he couldn't do it himself? ROFL
@HoIlowlchigo no, lilith was the first demon ever created, remember how they were talking about how when lucifer was cast down to hell and created the first and strongest demon from a twisted human, that was lilith
shes the strongest, she holds every deal made and killing HER breaks lucifer from hell
azazel a very high ranking demon but alastair and lilith are higher up, look up the supernatural lore if u dont believe me
First created demon must be strongest? is the first human strongest? i believe he must be something like monkey.
Azazel 's rank is KING of the demons a fallen angel i consider king>monkey
and besides if lilith is strongest who caged her up? and y she is in silence while azazel is the king? and why azazel's creation sam was able 2 kill her?
@HoIlowlchigo I so agree with you and I don't know what these people are talking about I don't think Kripke ever said that Lilith was stronger than Azazel. Someone probably just posted that. Also everyone think about it Holy water had absolutely no effect on Azazel which to me says he has some connection to Lucifer.
@GhostPirate6 That's right... except Crowley can't be an 'associate' of Lilith and the current "King of Hell" (Season 6), if he isn't a White-Eyed Demon-- white-eyeds are the strongest. It's made more than obvious through the show's dialogue.
@Gex9z You don't specifically have to be a white eyed demon for being the King/Queen of Hell. Lilith, Alistair, Azazel are all dead and Samhain is probably trapped somewhere in Hell. The next highest ranking after white and yellow eyes are red eyed/Crossroads demons. Crowley doesn't seem as powerful as any of the 4 demons. In season 5 he was on the run from every demon on Hell and earth. I doubt a white eyed demon would be on the run from any low ranked demon.
@Gex9z Also when Bobby has Sam and Dean threaten Crowley by having his bones burnt, Crowley seemed scared. He even went back to Scotland to retrieve his bones. I don't think white eyed demons would be affected by bone burning like lower end demons are. If Alistair was completely immune from Castiel trying to kill him with angel powers, what damage would it do to him if his bones were burned?
@GhostPirate6 You have your 'logic' mixed up :]... NO demon can teleport out of a Devil's Trap= that's why he couldn't teleport to Scotland (he did after he was released). What you're right about is how the "next highest ranking" demon can be the "king of hell". By Crowley's abilities, leadership, and how other demons seem to fear him (Meg: *scared* "You don't know Crowley"), one can deduce that he is a white-eyed demon. "Lilith's Right-Hand Man" can only mean he is a white-eyed.
@Gex9z Still I haven't seen Crowley show anything that hints that he has white eyes. And hey maybe Lilith chose Crowley to be her associate because of brains, not power level. Azazel was the original leader of Hell before Lilith was.
@GhostPirate6 Azazel could have been called a "steward" who ruled over Hell before Lilith was released. And LOL of course you haven't -- that's why the show's given clues. Crowley has superior leadership skills, has marked his own house with Enochian Warding Sigil to ward off angels (convinced yet? =P), has powerful telekinesis, teleportation, commands a giant hellhound, and he even obtained Death's Scythe, easily: Can a common crossroads do all this?
@Gex9z Crowley isn't a common Crossroads demon; he is the leader of them. You're saying that Lucifer gave Azazel a special task and Azazel subsequently got Yellow Eyed status, for this however he was shown to have yellow eyes before he had spoken with Lucifer.
@M4ttM3224 I'm not saying "Yellow-Eyed" is a set status, but signifies the type of demon Azazel is. Lucifer created him Yellow-Eyed with his unique powers, the same as with all demons, but it's clearly evident the White-Eyeds were the first demons.
@M4ttM3224 Lucifer was able to communicate/use some of his power while still in the cage, so it remains unanswered whether Lilith was called "the mother of all demons" because she literally created the rest of them, or if it was only cause she was the first.
@Gex9z Back to the Yellow-Eyed vs White-Eyed debate: Azazel was able to possess Tessa (a Reaper) and use her abilities, which I'm guessing most Demons can't do.
@M4ttM3224 ROFL... This is a TV Show, man, not reality --- everything in it is based on dramatic effect (I happen to be a producer). By the story the show has given, it's evident that Castiel had been shown to be more powerful than "anything" (until later revealed) beforehand; you saw his entrance. Alastair was introduced in Season 4 as the first white-eyes, and for effect, he was shown to be more "powerful" than Castiel. And Azazel has that ability of possession - it means he has that power :].
@M4ttM3224 I hope you're not thinking I somehow "WANT" Azazel to be "weaker" than the rest =P. Don't get me wrong, I'm a massive Azazel fan, but it just seems ridiculous to place him above the "power" level of Lilith, when both by the show itself and interviews with Kripke, it clearly proves it's the other way around. You've managed to convince me that he's about the same level of power as Alastair, but in different fields. Because the show's never given an exact number to their power =P...
@M4ttM3224 [Continued] ....we can't tell exactly if Al or Az is more powerful =P. Btw I don't think the producers even gave a shit about that --- all they cared about was: S4 - "bring in all-powerful angel" ... "now bring in a evill mofo demon who he can't beat" -- "give this evil demon white eyes, so it's like 'the lighter, the more powerful' coz the normal ones got black eyes" -- "hmm that sounds believable". XD Imagery, bro... on a basic level, it's really as simple as that on a tv show. :].
In my opinion: Azazel vs humans --- yeah he's stronger... Azazel vs Alastair, I seriously doubt it. This ain't dragonball z, bro XD LOL. Traits and abilities don't necessarily show "power" -- in a show that has each episode written by different people -- it's generally imagery that's given to show it: the secondary character abilities are "adjusted" to match the 'current situation' of the plot.
@Gex9z Dragonball z? The Colt can kill Azazel but he is immune to practically everything else, Alastair on the other hand is vulnerable to most things the common Demon is (a fact which Azazel would capitalize on). What episode was it when Azazel was show to be immune to Salt?
@M4ttM3224 Alistair was vulnerable to salt and holy water because he was trapped in a Devil's Trap made by the angels. It stripped him of most of his powers. Making him vulnerable to the salt and holy water. Also the salt and holy water went inside Alistair. Most demons get holy water splashed onto them. If Alistair with his full powers can withstand an angel's powers, he's likely able to withstand holy water and salt when not under the Devil's Trap.
@M4ttM3224 Also last I read, Lilith is just above the demonic hierarchy than Azazel is, and you don't get any higher than her until you go digging into Lucifer territory. Alistair shares the same eye color as Lilith, so that would also make him much more powerful than Azazel.
@M4ttM3224 LOL XD it's a random reference bro coz we're talkin bout 'power levels' here =P. Look at GhostPirate6's points: I couldn't have said it better myself. Those are in argument against your claim that Alastair's "vulnerable to most things the common demon is", which is not true at all. He is immune to Ruby's Knife: there's my point... the rest are his, and it's true about the devil's trap being tainted to weaken him. Once again, he is virtually the same as Azazel.
@GhostPirate6 Anyone can kill a Reaper with Death's Scythe. The Angels knew who Azazel was, but didn't even know Alastair existed, so Azazel must have a reputation of being a powerful Demon. Alastair was just as immune to things as he was outside the Devils Trap (evidenced by him surviving being stabbed with Ruby's knife).
@M4ttM3224 What makes you think they didn't know Alastair existed: it was only Castiel who didn't know, and he was given knowledge about Azazel by his superiors for his task. Azazel was the one who orchestrated the "Releasing Lucifer" plan: THAT's why Heaven knew about him: they wanted the same thing. If Azazel was as much of a leading demon as you say, why did he do everything he wanted by himself? He usually worked "undercover". Reputation doesn't equal power.
@M4ttM3224 My direct point is that Lilith, undeniably (as it was mentioned by Kripke), is the most powerful/oldest of all demons. Azazel: unique, empowered agent of Lucifer, former ruler of an upper level of Hell, while Lilith was the supreme ruler of all Hell, of a more "higher-class" deeper level of Hell ("deep in the pit"). Alastair: virtually the same power as Azazel; chief executioner, lead torturer of Hell (and that's what Hell is).
@Gex9z I would think that having the exact same eye color as Lilith would make him more powerful than Azazel is. I'm thinking that Azazel is right below Alistair and possibly Samhain. But we haven't seen him long enough to develop any theories. I'm thinking Samhain is somewhere in the middle of white eyed demons and yellow eyed demons. He had the same blinding white light power that Lilith has.
@GhostPirate6 That's what I originally (and still) believe, like most other fans. It was clearly shown in the show. [The eye colors are simple for the ranking-- the "lighter", the higher their rank-- it's common tv-show theatrics] I only mentioned it, out of its "possibility" since M4ttM3224 has stated a few abilities that Azazel was SHOWN to have had... though this doesn't rule out Alastair-- he may have those powers plus more. Alastair had the same effect from holy water that Azazel had.
@Gex9z I believe that the lighter the eye color the more powerful the demon too. In a way I compared their eyes to star colors. The lighter color the star is, the hotter the surface of the star is. I think that comparison kind of works.
@Gex9z "Alastair had the same effect from holy water that Azazel had"??? Azazel didn't even flinch when he had Holy Water splashed on his face; Alastair was terrified when Dean got some out and was in agony when he used it.
@M4ttM3224 That's because the holy water didn't enter Azazel's body like it did with Alistair. As I said earlier, if Alistair was able to be completely immune from Castiel's powers in "Heaven and Hell", I doubt holy water would have any effect on him if he were splashed with it ifweren't in the Devil's Trap. I saw Samhain being as powerful as Lilith because he had the same "white light blast" coming out of his palms like Lilith did.
@GhostPirate6 Sam was able to excorcise Samhain early in season 4 (when he was only able to excorcise common Demons). Aside from the white light and the zombie fiasco he didn't seem that powerful.
@M4ttM3224 Yeah but Sam had an extremely difficult time in excorcising him. He got massive headaches and started to get a nosebleed. The common demons were excorsized fairly easily, but Samhain looked as though he didn't want to leave the body. It wasn't until after a long struggle did Samhain finally get excorsized. As for Ruby's knife. Most of his powers may have been weakened, but he was still strong enough to withstand the knife.
@M4ttM3224 Remember Jesse(the Anti-christ)'s mother after giving birth, she put a fist full of salt into her mouth which excorsized the demon inside her. Dean put a lot more into Alistair and he never left the body.
@M4ttM3224 There is no evidence of Alastair being "locked" into his vessel, and that's completely untrue -- he was inside a Devil's Trap -- and he's much more powerful than Castiel... Alastair was imprisoned in that trap by a group of angels (not just Castiel) he was about to banish him twice. Azazel's reaction to salt was never shown... it was only shown that he could cross the salt-line.
@M4ttM3224 It's Alastair's abilities and defences that were limited while inside the trap -- to use Ruby's Knife to kill him would be to directly kill his 'demonic soul' (the black cloud)-- that wasn't weakened, and it technically can't be.
@QuantumVaporization I'm amused by your desperate lack of a life. XD... You're scouring YouTube for videos I've commented on... JUST because I Owned your desperate ass on an argument =P. ROFL What a hopeless & pathetic disgrace. Now go back onto your other account "blacksamcooke" and start Trolling intellectually :]. What's even more pathetic is how my "recent activity" is hidden. You actually used some hacking website to find out my recent comments! You must love me ;].
@M4ttM3224 ROFL -- you're missing the context of that situation. Alastair was weakened and imprisoned in a Devil's Trap by angels, and there was never any moment in his entire appearance in the show that he ever looked 'terrified', even when Sam was killing him. Sounds to me like you're literally against Alastair for some reason =P.
@GhostPirate6 Samhain didn't seem that powerful in my opinion. I see Azazel as more powerful than Alastair (and Samhain) but almost on-par with Lilith.
@Gex9z I said the show hasn't shown "hints" that he has white eyes. And you say that the show has given clues. In a way that contradicts what I said. And what powerful telekinesis has Crowley shown other than blowing up a street lamp? And any demon can teleport, not just white eyed demons. And I'm guessing any crossroads demon can control Hellhounds. Crowley being able to control a larger means he's just better at it. And we don't know how easily he obtained Death's Scythe.
@Gex9z Last we saw, Alistair had Death's Scythe. And I say, yes a crossroads demon can do all of it, if they put their minds to it. They are stronger than the average black eyed demons.
@GhostPirate6 [continued] ...Why would Lilith (the original, most powerful demon) make a red-eyed demon her 'associate' when there are a large number of crossroads demons? Crowley is the "King of the Crossroads" just as Alastair was the "Chief Executioner/Lord of Torture" of Hell-- each white-eyed is the "king" of something-- if Crowley is red-eyed he'd be just like the rest of the crossroads demons and there's no reason for him to be their "king" or their boss.
@ral7789 LOL... nah buddy Alastair is a white-eyed demon like Lilith... Azazel was yellow-eyed, which means he was lower-ranked than Alastair... Crowley is the King of the Crossroads-- and is Lilith's right-hand man. This makes him a white-eyes: White-Eyed Demons are the "Ruling Class" of demons. And WHEN THE HELL did the show 'portray' Azazel to be any bit more powerful than Lilith, Alastair and Crowley? Azazel was an AGENT of Lucifer-- he's specialized, not powerful.
ok here's the high Demon hierarchy from my perspective, disregarding Lucifer; Lilith->Azazel->Alastair->Crowley. in Star Wars it would be Darth Revan (Lucifer)->Darth Malak->Darth Bane->Darth Sidious->Darth Vader. Makes no sense, but i just like listing them. oh yeah, and Meg can be Darth Caedus xD.
Unfortunately; Alastair appears to be the stronger of the two, also Alastair has white eyes like Lilith not yellow. It's Azazel btw. In my opinion Azazel should have been the stronger but I don't write the story.
For the demons we've been introduced to I would say the order goes as such but I wouldn't say that Alastair is the second strongest of all demons. For instance; I believe that the four horsemen are stronger than Alastair but it was confirmed that Lilith is at the top. Between Gabriel and Rafael is difficult but I think I'd give it to Rafael, he seems to be the stronger of the two while Gabriel is more clever.
Your incessant flow of pratter is giving me a bloody nasty headache. First off all you must wait for Mr. Kirpke to explain the story that he created. No one else can say which demon, based upon Eye colour, is more powerful. He promised to explain in season5 and give full closure. So just wait!! :)
By the way Jazzas I can not understand any of your posts though I did read them several times. At least I could read Bartlmpson's posts.
Yeah that's real funny. So funny that I forgot to laugh. It wasn't mentioned on the show, but there was a role playing game of SPN and it showed the demons rankings. With the black eyes being the lowest, and the white eyes being the highest.
@Troublesome92 ROFL... look it up. xD... you don't even have to... why the hell did Sam try SO HARD to kill Alastair and finally Lilith? Those are rulers of Hell (Lilith: the original mother of all demons| Alastair: Chief Executioner/Torturer of Hell | and Azazel: not ruling class but a specialized Agent of Lucifer) Sam could have wasted Azazel easy if he had this power back then. But he didn't, and that's why they needed the Colt.
@Gex9z Lilith was the first Demon and she has white eyes and so does Alastair so it's plausible that he was one of the first; but Azazel is the only Demon with yellow eyes. There are masses of black-eyed Demons, two white-eyed and one yellow-eyed so going by rarity of the eye colour (the rarer the colour the more powerful the Demon) Azazel is the strongest. I'm not saying this is a fact: it's only a theory.
@M4ttM3224 It's funny how people deduce that the "yellow-eyed demon" introduced as the first boss bad guy, means he's the "only" yellow-eyed demon. Look -- he was only yellow-eyed demon to be REVEALED in the show. Now, why do people consider White-Eyeds to be the most powerful? The answer is this: Lilith was the first, and most powerful demon: she is White-Eyed, which means White-Eyed = the Big Bosses of Hell. Once again, AZAZEL was just the only yellow-eyes to be revealed... [continued on next]
@M4ttM3224 Onto AZAZEL: he has yellow-eyes, and by the way other demons talked about him, he was a UNIQUE demon if he was the ONLY one with yellow eyes, this has NOTHING to do with "power", it's all about being "specialized". By other demons' talking about him, he didn't seem all that "OMG you dare speak his name"... but they did talk that way about Lilith-- "above her it's all Lucifer territory", I think Ruby mentioned that. Azazel was a unique, specialized demon for a particular task.
@Gex9z LOL sorry Ruby couldn't have mentioned that--- someone did, I can't place who =/. ROFL --- I... JUST looked it up: Get a load of this to close these arguments: "...Kripke stated Lilith is higher in the demonic hierarchy than Azazel, and "you don't get much higher than her until you start digging into Lucifer territory..."" REFERENCE= eclipsemagazine [dot] com / hollywood-insider/ 5639 / : 'Eric Kripke answers fan's questions' =P
@Gex9z I understand what you're saying about Azazel being the only yellow-eyed Demon REVEALED on the show but Alastair and Lilith are the only white eyed Demons revealed on the show so who's to say there aren't dozens of them and white was just their colour preference?
Azazel: Immune to holy water and salt
Lilith: Immune to holy water but has never been tested with salt
@M4ttM3224 [CONTINUED] Azazel (yellow-eyed) is stronger than at least one white-eyed (Alastair); so if your opinion about the colour of the eyes is parallel to their power and rank then yellow-eyed is higher, on both fronts, than white-eyed.
@M4ttM3224 The show's early theatrics have gone to some extremes like making Azazel immune to salt and holy water, but the color of Lilith's (the original demon) eyes goes to show (by theatrics) that they're the highest CLASS of demon. Because of this, Lucifer most likely "empowered" Azazel with immunity and the ability to turn children with his blood for the task he was given. He's Lucifer's agent - of course he's powerful, but it doesn't mean he's MORE powerful than Lilith and Alastair.
@M4ttM3224 Oh and he's not immune to "salt", it's to the "salt-line". And those immunities are interesting but Alastair's also shown to be "white-eyed" (by show--it's the same type of demon as Lilith: the original) and is immune to Ruby's Knife, and banishment by angels: which by theatrics makes a virtually equivalent power to Azazel -- but in different ways. You might not have seen it, but Kripke has tried to introduce the "white-eyes" thing to identify the "rulers of Hell" itself.
@M4ttM3224 That's an interesting theory -- but it further goes to show my point: It looks like because Azazel was the one who "released" Lilith from the 'depths of Hell', he was extremely specialized by Lucifer for this particular task-- you don't have holy water and salt in Hell: immunity to those would only be useful on Earth. His blood can give humans psychic powers as well -- this is unique. Lilith/Alastair are more powerful in terms of raw power, since they reside and "rule" in Hell itself.
@M4ttM3224 To finalize that =P.... "Yellow-Eyes" has been shown to mean an empowered, specialized, unique high-class agent who serves a particular purpose... "White-Eyes" means an 'ancient' (Lilith's age), high-ranking, "Ruling-Class" demon of Hell itself. You've had a point though -- I'd say Alastair is virtually equivalent to Azazel, but in different strengths.
@Gex9z Azazel told Lucifer that Lilith was "deep in the pit" so she presumably was locked away somewhere in hell without contact with other 'residents' and Alastair would be busy torturing which leaves Azazel to rule Hell. Azazel would also fit under "Ruling-Class". Do you know what episode it showed Azazel being immune to the salt barrier?
@M4ttM3224 Azazel has been on Earth most of the time -- him and Alastair most likely ruled over different portions of Hell before Lilith was released. Either that or Azazel is a little more powerful than Alastair but is younger. Azazel was empowered by Lucifer. Since Lilith is the most powerful/oldest -- 'oldest', along with high-ranking, is most likely the attribute that's given to white-eyeds.
@commentking1000 I read that Azazel was the one who released Lilith when she couldn't get out of Hell herself. Maybe because she was the last seal and she had to be caged so there is a lesser chance of her being killed and breaking the last seal. And some are saying that Azazel is stronger because he's a fallen angel. Alistair has been immune to most of Castiel's powers and survived an angelic blast when Anna got her grace back. He'd have to be a strong demon to resist them.
@GhostPirate6 Also SPN doesn't follow religious lore 100% so I don't think the Azazel on the show is the same angel that fell along with Lucifer. Also we haven't seen any fallen angels on Lucifer's side. We've only seen demons, and they're twisted/burned human souls not fallen angels cast into Hell. And someone mentioned the Horsemen being demons. They're not. They're just the physical form of natural occurrences.
I think Alastair has a deviated septum. NASAL VOICE for all his vessels!!!!!

@emotrust13 The Colt can kill anything except the Archangels and God whilst the knife can kill some Demons. They don't have the same ability.

@M4ttM3224 and Death.
Eldominicanoronny 6 months ago
@Eldominicanoronny "There are only five things in all of creation that gun can't kill". Archangels count for four of those and it makes sense God is the last. It's five things not five things and Death.
M4ttM3224 5 months ago
@M4ttM3224 The colt cannot kill God in my opinion but God is not a being of creation. God is the creator of everything so its really 6 things that the colt cannot kill if you ask me.

@MichaelDeFeo18 If it is the Archangels and Death then what about War, Famine and Pestilence?

I think Alastairs' first vessel (Mark Rolston) was killed off because the scenes on "On The Head Of Pin" required Alastair to be more physical. And in my opinion, Mark Rolston won't fit in much due to age.

TheSuirad 1 year ago
If I may add on whos stronger, Azazel or Alastair. ALASTAIR: the only white eyed demon besides Lilith, matched angels, cant be killed by the Knife & can travel to/ from Hell anytime (so exorcism is moot). AZAZEL: the only "Yellow Eyes," is immune to salt & holy water, pretty much orchestrated the show, & said the Colt's the only thing in the universe that can "shoot him dead."
Overall: Alastair is much more powerful, but Azazel is more invulnerable & important amongst the supernatural community
BatJoker007 1 year ago
@BatJoker007 ya, very true, because in hell of torturing souls, alastair is the leader while lilith is the leader on earth.

M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 no, and i don't know on which side u are on the alastair/azazel debate :DDD but one think for sure in power and authority alastair>azazel.
Mindaugas7100 1 year ago
@Mindaugas7100 You replied to comments of mine on 3 different videos in the space of about 10 minutes. Is there a reason for this?
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 no actually, well just want to correct you if ithink ur wrong, that's it.
Mindaugas7100 1 year ago
@Mindaugas7100 Casey said in 3x04 that Azazel was their leader. So regarding authority Azazel>Alastair. Azazel is pretty much on par with Lilith regarding power and they are both more powerful than Alastair.
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 right, but remember that casey cant get back into hell, and in hell alastair was the leader(under lilith) since he tortured souls. and one of the demons called azazel as a tyrant when lilith was back in hell. azazel was the leader till devil's gate open, then lilith took over, ofc they don't have to fight each other since they both wanted same think, free lucifer so they ddin't fight each other cause it would be pointless, but i respect ur opinion that azazel>alastair.
Mindaugas7100 1 year ago
@Mindaugas7100 Of course Azazel stopped being the leader when the Devils Gate opened as that's when he died. What makes you think Casey couldn't get back into Hell?
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 because only white eyes can travel to hell and back to earth.

@Mindaugas7100 Any Demon can be exorcised and subsequently escape from Hell.

@M4ttM3224 not gonna argue because i don't know for sure, but well tell me your best reason why azazel is more powerful than alastair?

@Mindaugas7100 Azazel is immune to the 'Salt Barrier' and Holy Water.

oh and there's no way azazel is more powerful he's been shot and fall, when alastair

Joerca44 1 year ago
@Joerca44 Shot with the colt and stabbed with a lower - level demon killing knife are very different. They are in Purgatory (not Hell). Alastair was shown to be harmed by salt and Holy water whilst Azazel was immune to both.
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 sooo.....there locked in purgatory??? are you sure about that?
Joerca44 1 year ago
@Joerca44 In 6x07 the Alpha Vamp' says stat every "freak" (monster) that dies is sent to Purgatory. I think it's also stated in 6x12 but I'm not sure.
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 yeah monster's like shifters, vampires, djinn's and lamies... he never said anything about evil angels and demons
Joerca44 1 year ago
@Joerca44 On Supernatural the Vamp's were once human like the Demons. You have a good point but if killing a Demon sent them back to Hell then why not just exorcise them? And why haven't any killed Demons returned?
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 dude man i know i watched the show.
the demons that are killed by the colt and knife are probably much deeper in hell, thats what i think, and just to be sure what makes you think they would return, the gates from hell is closed
Joerca44 1 year ago
@Joerca44 Demons seem to crawl out of Hell quite frequently on this show and don't forget that Lilith was "neck deep in the pit" and Azazel broke her out.
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 actually azazel made some guy broke her out, we all know it was all a plan to bust out lucifer, ruby did the rest of the job, lilith would of break seals herself anyways we know she was the key.
well i was just saying demons has be in hell after all they probably humans that made deals or bad people, i mean you know what i mean good & bad can never fade away it has to be somewere...
Joerca44 1 year ago
@Joerca44
Demons are twisted spirits and as far as we know, when a spirit is killed (i.e. bones burned) it's sent to purgatory like the rest of the monsters.
They may not have specifically said anything about demons being sent to purgatory, but they also didn't say anything about them not being sent there and I think they just want us to assume that the same rules apply to them.
scifi641 11 months ago
@scifi641 well it makes sense, after all, all the spirits that have there remains burned would go to purgatory.
but of course they've never been taken away by reapers, and they've killed they go to heaven, their also angry they wouldn't go to hell either
Joerca44 11 months ago
@M4ttM3224 what I'm guessing is because Azazel is a fallen Angel turned into a Demon, so those two don't affect him but other than the Scythe and Angel blade the only other thing that can kill an Angel is The Colt.
Eldominicanoronny 6 months ago
@Eldominicanoronny You say Azazel is a Fallen Angel turned Demon but other than the reference to the real Azazel in 4x22 and the unique eyes and powers and him saying in the animated series "I was once an Angel of the Lord" there is no evidence supporting that argument. OK, I'll admit that stuff is quite convincing but there is a small chance that he is just an incredibly powerful, old human turned Demon. I don't understand what you're referring to with 'those two don't affect him'.

arcanebop 1 year ago
...Because--- Lilith is the "Queen" of Hell and the ORIGINAL demon.
Gex9z 1 year ago
How OBVIOUS is it that Azazel (the first demon introduced in Supernatural), is UNDER Lucifer, Lilith, Alastair and Crowley (who's now the "King of Hell" ref-Season 6). White-Eyed = Ruling Class of Demons. Kripke has mentioned this, and if you don't believe me, then look it up. Just because Azazel was 'portrayed' to be powerful in the earlier seasons doesn't mean he's powerful compared to these guys. Azazel's an AGENT of Lucifer: he's specialized, not necessarily 'powerful'.

If anything Alastair might be stronger then azazel but thats a toss up.....the logic is white eyes are the strongest..... but then again in the bible they say azazel is actually a fallen angel. so i would think azazel is stronger
ral7789 2 years ago
where in hell in supernatural did it says white eyes are stronger? Azazel is same or should i say above lilith's level, he was in charge and lilith only took over when he is dead, Also he is the one who created sam who killed lilith afterwards, He is also the leader of the demonic legion, so Azazel is definitely stronger

azazel a very high ranking demon but alastair and lilith are higher up, look up the supernatural lore if u dont believe me

HoIlowlchigo 1 year ago
@HoIlowlchigo I so agree with you and I don't know what these people are talking about I don't think Kripke ever said that Lilith was stronger than Azazel. Someone probably just posted that. Also everyone think about it Holy water had absolutely no effect on Azazel which to me says he has some connection to Lucifer.

@MichaelDeFeo18
It is a quote (Lilith being stronger than YED) that people read from wikipedia. But there is no way of verifying it.

@userste There is one way of 'verifying' it: complete obviousness from the show's dialogue. Go watch the show.
Gex9z 1 year ago
You are so wrong. Kripke stated lilith was stronger then azazel. the order goes like this...
1 Lucifer ( Angel )
2 Lilith ( very first Demon and strongest )
3 Azazel
4 Alastair
5 Crowley ( just a crossrods demon, red eyes )
Even though the show portrayed azazel to be stronger he was not

1. Lucifer
2. Lilith
3. Alistair.(He and Lilith have the same eye color but slightly weaker)
4. Azazel
5. Crowley
6. Ruby
GhostPirate6 1 year ago 2
@GhostPirate6 That's right... except Crowley can't be an 'associate' of Lilith and the current "King of Hell" (Season 6), if he isn't a White-Eyed Demon-- white-eyeds are the strongest. It's made more than obvious through the show's dialogue.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z You don't specifically have to be a white eyed demon for being the King/Queen of Hell. Lilith, Alistair, Azazel are all dead and Samhain is probably trapped somewhere in Hell. The next highest ranking after white and yellow eyes are red eyed/Crossroads demons. Crowley doesn't seem as powerful as any of the 4 demons. In season 5 he was on the run from every demon on Hell and earth. I doubt a white eyed demon would be on the run from any low ranked demon.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@Gex9z Also when Bobby has Sam and Dean threaten Crowley by having his bones burnt, Crowley seemed scared. He even went back to Scotland to retrieve his bones. I don't think white eyed demons would be affected by bone burning like lower end demons are. If Alistair was completely immune from Castiel trying to kill him with angel powers, what damage would it do to him if his bones were burned?
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@GhostPirate6 *threatened
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@GhostPirate6 You have your 'logic' mixed up :]... NO demon can teleport out of a Devil's Trap= that's why he couldn't teleport to Scotland (he did after he was released). What you're right about is how the "next highest ranking" demon can be the "king of hell". By Crowley's abilities, leadership, and how other demons seem to fear him (Meg: *scared* "You don't know Crowley"), one can deduce that he is a white-eyed demon. "Lilith's Right-Hand Man" can only mean he is a white-eyed.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z Still I haven't seen Crowley show anything that hints that he has white eyes. And hey maybe Lilith chose Crowley to be her associate because of brains, not power level. Azazel was the original leader of Hell before Lilith was.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@GhostPirate6 Azazel could have been called a "steward" who ruled over Hell before Lilith was released. And LOL of course you haven't -- that's why the show's given clues. Crowley has superior leadership skills, has marked his own house with Enochian Warding Sigil to ward off angels (convinced yet? =P), has powerful telekinesis, teleportation, commands a giant hellhound, and he even obtained Death's Scythe, easily: Can a common crossroads do all this?
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z Crowley isn't a common Crossroads demon; he is the leader of them. You're saying that Lucifer gave Azazel a special task and Azazel subsequently got Yellow Eyed status, for this however he was shown to have yellow eyes before he had spoken with Lucifer.
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 I'm not saying "Yellow-Eyed" is a set status, but signifies the type of demon Azazel is. Lucifer created him Yellow-Eyed with his unique powers, the same as with all demons, but it's clearly evident the White-Eyeds were the first demons.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z Didn't Lucifer "turn" Lilith then get trapped in his cage so then Lilith started "making" Demons?
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 Lucifer was able to communicate/use some of his power while still in the cage, so it remains unanswered whether Lilith was called "the mother of all demons" because she literally created the rest of them, or if it was only cause she was the first.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z Back to the Yellow-Eyed vs White-Eyed debate: Azazel was able to possess Tessa (a Reaper) and use her abilities, which I'm guessing most Demons can't do.
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 ROFL... This is a TV Show, man, not reality --- everything in it is based on dramatic effect (I happen to be a producer). By the story the show has given, it's evident that Castiel had been shown to be more powerful than "anything" (until later revealed) beforehand; you saw his entrance. Alastair was introduced in Season 4 as the first white-eyes, and for effect, he was shown to be more "powerful" than Castiel. And Azazel has that ability of possession - it means he has that power :].
Gex9z 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 I hope you're not thinking I somehow "WANT" Azazel to be "weaker" than the rest =P. Don't get me wrong, I'm a massive Azazel fan, but it just seems ridiculous to place him above the "power" level of Lilith, when both by the show itself and interviews with Kripke, it clearly proves it's the other way around. You've managed to convince me that he's about the same level of power as Alastair, but in different fields. Because the show's never given an exact number to their power =P...
Gex9z 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 [Continued] ....we can't tell exactly if Al or Az is more powerful =P. Btw I don't think the producers even gave a shit about that --- all they cared about was: S4 - "bring in all-powerful angel" ... "now bring in a evill mofo demon who he can't beat" -- "give this evil demon white eyes, so it's like 'the lighter, the more powerful' coz the normal ones got black eyes" -- "hmm that sounds believable". XD Imagery, bro... on a basic level, it's really as simple as that on a tv show. :].
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z Azazel is stronger than Alastair.
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 ROFL XD... Amen.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z Dragonball z? The Colt can kill Azazel but he is immune to practically everything else, Alastair on the other hand is vulnerable to most things the common Demon is (a fact which Azazel would capitalize on). What episode was it when Azazel was show to be immune to Salt?
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 Alistair was vulnerable to salt and holy water because he was trapped in a Devil's Trap made by the angels. It stripped him of most of his powers. Making him vulnerable to the salt and holy water. Also the salt and holy water went inside Alistair. Most demons get holy water splashed onto them. If Alistair with his full powers can withstand an angel's powers, he's likely able to withstand holy water and salt when not under the Devil's Trap.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 Also last I read, Lilith is just above the demonic hierarchy than Azazel is, and you don't get any higher than her until you go digging into Lucifer territory. Alistair shares the same eye color as Lilith, so that would also make him much more powerful than Azazel.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 LOL XD it's a random reference bro coz we're talkin bout 'power levels' here =P. Look at GhostPirate6's points: I couldn't have said it better myself. Those are in argument against your claim that Alastair's "vulnerable to most things the common demon is", which is not true at all. He is immune to Ruby's Knife: there's my point... the rest are his, and it's true about the devil's trap being tainted to weaken him. Once again, he is virtually the same as Azazel.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 Azazel may be able to possess reapers, but Alistair knows a spell on how to kill them and break one of the 66 seals.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@GhostPirate6 Anyone can kill a Reaper with Death's Scythe. The Angels knew who Azazel was, but didn't even know Alastair existed, so Azazel must have a reputation of being a powerful Demon. Alastair was just as immune to things as he was outside the Devils Trap (evidenced by him surviving being stabbed with Ruby's knife).
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 What makes you think they didn't know Alastair existed: it was only Castiel who didn't know, and he was given knowledge about Azazel by his superiors for his task. Azazel was the one who orchestrated the "Releasing Lucifer" plan: THAT's why Heaven knew about him: they wanted the same thing. If Azazel was as much of a leading demon as you say, why did he do everything he wanted by himself? He usually worked "undercover". Reputation doesn't equal power.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 My direct point is that Lilith, undeniably (as it was mentioned by Kripke), is the most powerful/oldest of all demons. Azazel: unique, empowered agent of Lucifer, former ruler of an upper level of Hell, while Lilith was the supreme ruler of all Hell, of a more "higher-class" deeper level of Hell ("deep in the pit"). Alastair: virtually the same power as Azazel; chief executioner, lead torturer of Hell (and that's what Hell is).
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z I would think that having the exact same eye color as Lilith would make him more powerful than Azazel is. I'm thinking that Azazel is right below Alistair and possibly Samhain. But we haven't seen him long enough to develop any theories. I'm thinking Samhain is somewhere in the middle of white eyed demons and yellow eyed demons. He had the same blinding white light power that Lilith has.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@GhostPirate6 That's what I originally (and still) believe, like most other fans. It was clearly shown in the show. [The eye colors are simple for the ranking-- the "lighter", the higher their rank-- it's common tv-show theatrics] I only mentioned it, out of its "possibility" since M4ttM3224 has stated a few abilities that Azazel was SHOWN to have had... though this doesn't rule out Alastair-- he may have those powers plus more. Alastair had the same effect from holy water that Azazel had.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z I believe that the lighter the eye color the more powerful the demon too. In a way I compared their eyes to star colors. The lighter color the star is, the hotter the surface of the star is. I think that comparison kind of works.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@GhostPirate6 Yeah :]... That should be simple enough, but there are so many other factors that prove your point.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z "Alastair had the same effect from holy water that Azazel had"??? Azazel didn't even flinch when he had Holy Water splashed on his face; Alastair was terrified when Dean got some out and was in agony when he used it.
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 That's because the holy water didn't enter Azazel's body like it did with Alistair. As I said earlier, if Alistair was able to be completely immune from Castiel's powers in "Heaven and Hell", I doubt holy water would have any effect on him if he were splashed with it ifweren't in the Devil's Trap. I saw Samhain being as powerful as Lilith because he had the same "white light blast" coming out of his palms like Lilith did.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@GhostPirate6 Sam was able to excorcise Samhain early in season 4 (when he was only able to excorcise common Demons). Aside from the white light and the zombie fiasco he didn't seem that powerful.
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 Yeah but Sam had an extremely difficult time in excorcising him. He got massive headaches and started to get a nosebleed. The common demons were excorsized fairly easily, but Samhain looked as though he didn't want to leave the body. It wasn't until after a long struggle did Samhain finally get excorsized. As for Ruby's knife. Most of his powers may have been weakened, but he was still strong enough to withstand the knife.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 Remember Jesse(the Anti-christ)'s mother after giving birth, she put a fist full of salt into her mouth which excorsized the demon inside her. Dean put a lot more into Alistair and he never left the body.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@GhostPirate6 Alastair was probably "locked" in his body by Cas'. Has it shown Azazel's reaction to Salt on the show?
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 I don't believe we've seen Azazel's reaction to salt.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 There is no evidence of Alastair being "locked" into his vessel, and that's completely untrue -- he was inside a Devil's Trap -- and he's much more powerful than Castiel... Alastair was imprisoned in that trap by a group of angels (not just Castiel) he was about to banish him twice. Azazel's reaction to salt was never shown... it was only shown that he could cross the salt-line.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@GhostPirate6 Perfect example: never thought of that :D.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@GhostPirate6 If Alastair was any weaker in the Devils Trap then how come Ruby's Knife didn't kill him?
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 It's Alastair's abilities and defences that were limited while inside the trap -- to use Ruby's Knife to kill him would be to directly kill his 'demonic soul' (the black cloud)-- that wasn't weakened, and it technically can't be.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z When did it show he could cross the Salt Line?

@M4ttM3224 ROFL -- you're missing the context of that situation.

@GhostPirate6 If you want to take the clues your way, go for it :]. About Crowley, you can only base it on thoughts -- I ain't changing yours ;].
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z Last we saw, Alistair had Death's Scythe. And I say, yes a crossroads demon can do all of it, if they put their minds to it. They are stronger than the average black eyed demons.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@GhostPirate6 LOL --- I think you mean Crowley had Death's Scythe -- you're getting your demons mixed up ;].
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z I meant before Crowley got his hands on Death's scythe. Alistair had it originally when it made it's first appearance.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@GhostPirate6 [continued] ...Why would Lilith (the original, most powerful demon) make a red-eyed demon her 'associate' when there are a large number of crossroads demons? Crowley is the "King of the Crossroads" just as Alastair was the "Chief Executioner/Lord of Torture" of Hell-- each white-eyed is the "king" of something-- if Crowley is red-eyed he'd be just like the rest of the crossroads demons and there's no reason for him to be their "king" or their boss.
Gex9z 1 year ago
Gex9z 1 year ago
@ral7789 If Kripke said that in an interview, could you give me the link please?
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@ral7789 alastair is stronger than azazel for sure.
Mindaugas7100 1 year ago
ok here's the high Demon hierarchy from my perspective, disregarding Lucifer; Lilith->Azazel->Alastair->Crowley. in Star Wars it would be Darth Revan (Lucifer)->Darth Malak->Darth Bane->Darth Sidious->Darth Vader. Makes no sense, but i just like listing them. oh yeah, and Meg can be Darth Caedus xD.

i thought that zaziel was the only demon whit yellow eye
and that was why he was so famous????
and i think zaziel is stroger that alastair
te1apartes 2 years ago
Unfortunately; Alastair appears to be the stronger of the two, also Alastair has white eyes like Lilith not yellow. It's Azazel btw. In my opinion Azazel should have been the stronger but I don't write the story.
5thsurvivor 2 years ago
so first in charge is Lilith the i gess Alastair and then Zaziel.right.
a and in angels ho do u think is stronger Gabriel(the trikster) or Rafael.
te1apartes 2 years ago
For the demons we've been introduced to I would say the order goes as such but I wouldn't say that Alastair is the second strongest of all demons. For instance; I believe that the four horsemen are stronger than Alastair but it was confirmed that Lilith is at the top. Between Gabriel and Rafael is difficult but I think I'd give it to Rafael, he seems to be the stronger of the two while Gabriel is more clever.

This stupid fight has NOTHING to do with the video! Angels vs. Demons not YED vs. WED.

At least I could read Bartlmpson's posts.
kyleirl 2 years ago 2
Kripke already stated that Lilith(White Eyed Demons) is higher up the demonic hierarchy than Azazel.
BartImpson 2 years ago
rofl when and where?
Troublesome92 2 years ago
Yeah that's real funny. So funny that I forgot to laugh. It wasn't mentioned on the show, but there was a role playing game of SPN and it showed the demons rankings. With the black eyes being the lowest, and the white eyes being the highest.
BartImpson 2 years ago
its funny to me
Troublesome92 2 years ago
Yeah White Eyed Demons being higher ranking that Yellow Eyed Demons, is real funny.
BartImpson 2 years ago
@Troublesome92 ROFL... look it up. xD... you don't even have to... why the hell did Sam try SO HARD to kill Alastair and finally Lilith? Those are rulers of Hell (Lilith: the original mother of all demons| Alastair: Chief Executioner/Torturer of Hell | and Azazel: not ruling class but a specialized Agent of Lucifer) Sam could have wasted Azazel easy if he had this power back then. But he didn't, and that's why they needed the Colt.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z Lilith was the first Demon and she has white eyes and so does Alastair so it's plausible that he was one of the first; but Azazel is the only Demon with yellow eyes. There are masses of black-eyed Demons, two white-eyed and one yellow-eyed so going by rarity of the eye colour (the rarer the colour the more powerful the Demon) Azazel is the strongest. I'm not saying this is a fact: it's only a theory.
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 It's funny how people deduce that the "yellow-eyed demon" introduced as the first boss bad guy, means he's the "only" yellow-eyed demon. Look -- he was only yellow-eyed demon to be REVEALED in the show. Now, why do people consider White-Eyeds to be the most powerful? The answer is this: Lilith was the first, and most powerful demon: she is White-Eyed, which means White-Eyed = the Big Bosses of Hell. Once again, AZAZEL was just the only yellow-eyes to be revealed... [continued on next]
Gex9z 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 Onto AZAZEL: he has yellow-eyes, and by the way other demons talked about him, he was a UNIQUE demon if he was the ONLY one with yellow eyes, this has NOTHING to do with "power", it's all about being "specialized". By other demons' talking about him, he didn't seem all that "OMG you dare speak his name"... but they did talk that way about Lilith-- "above her it's all Lucifer territory", I think Ruby mentioned that. Azazel was a unique, specialized demon for a particular task.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z LOL sorry Ruby couldn't have mentioned that--- someone did, I can't place who =/. ROFL --- I... JUST looked it up: Get a load of this to close these arguments: "...Kripke stated Lilith is higher in the demonic hierarchy than Azazel, and "you don't get much higher than her until you start digging into Lucifer territory..."" REFERENCE= eclipsemagazine [dot] com / hollywood-insider/ 5639 / : 'Eric Kripke answers fan's questions' =P
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z I understand what you're saying about Azazel being the only yellow-eyed Demon REVEALED on the show but Alastair and Lilith are the only white eyed Demons revealed on the show so who's to say there aren't dozens of them and white was just their colour preference?
Azazel: Immune to holy water and salt
Lilith: Immune to holy water but has never been tested with salt
Alastair: Vulnerable to both
Azazel is stronger than Alastair in that sense.
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 [CONTINUED] Azazel (yellow-eyed) is stronger than at least one white-eyed (Alastair); so if your opinion about the colour of the eyes is parallel to their power and rank then yellow-eyed is higher, on both fronts, than white-eyed.

@M4ttM3224 My link does work [YouTube doesn't allow RAW links to be posted, it's masked -- if you want the link I'll msg you].
Gex9z 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 The show's early theatrics have gone to some extremes like making Azazel immune to salt and holy water, but the color of Lilith's (the original demon) eyes goes to show (by theatrics) that they're the highest CLASS of demon. Because of this, Lucifer most likely "empowered" Azazel with immunity and the ability to turn children with his blood for the task he was given. He's Lucifer's agent - of course he's powerful, but it doesn't mean he's MORE powerful than Lilith and Alastair.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 Oh and he's not immune to "salt", it's to the "salt-line". And those immunities are interesting but Alastair's also shown to be "white-eyed" (by show--it's the same type of demon as Lilith: the original) and is immune to Ruby's Knife, and banishment by angels: which by theatrics makes a virtually equivalent power to Azazel -- but in different ways. You might not have seen it, but Kripke has tried to introduce the "white-eyes" thing to identify the "rulers of Hell" itself.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 That's an interesting theory -- but it further goes to show my point: It looks like because Azazel was the one who "released" Lilith from the 'depths of Hell', he was extremely specialized by Lucifer for this particular task-- you don't have holy water and salt in Hell: immunity to those would only be useful on Earth. His blood can give humans psychic powers as well -- this is unique. Lilith/Alastair are more powerful in terms of raw power, since they reside and "rule" in Hell itself.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 To finalize that =P.... "Yellow-Eyes" has been shown to mean an empowered, specialized, unique high-class agent who serves a particular purpose... "White-Eyes" means an 'ancient' (Lilith's age), high-ranking, "Ruling-Class" demon of Hell itself. You've had a point though -- I'd say Alastair is virtually equivalent to Azazel, but in different strengths.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@Gex9z Azazel told Lucifer that Lilith was "deep in the pit" so she presumably was locked away somewhere in hell without contact with other 'residents' and Alastair would be busy torturing which leaves Azazel to rule Hell. Azazel would also fit under "Ruling-Class". Do you know what episode it showed Azazel being immune to the salt barrier?
M4ttM3224 1 year ago
@M4ttM3224 Azazel has been on Earth most of the time -- him and Alastair most likely ruled over different portions of Hell before Lilith was released. Either that or Azazel is a little more powerful than Alastair but is younger. Azazel was empowered by Lucifer. Since Lilith is the most powerful/oldest -- 'oldest', along with high-ranking, is most likely the attribute that's given to white-eyeds.
Gex9z 1 year ago
@BartImpson no shes just the one that took control after azazel died
commentking1000 1 year ago
@commentking1000 I read that Azazel was the one who released Lilith when she couldn't get out of Hell herself. Maybe because she was the last seal and she had to be caged so there is a lesser chance of her being killed and breaking the last seal. And some are saying that Azazel is stronger because he's a fallen angel. Alistair has been immune to most of Castiel's powers and survived an angelic blast when Anna got her grace back. He'd have to be a strong demon to resist them.
GhostPirate6 1 year ago
@GhostPirate6 Also SPN doesn't follow religious lore 100% so I don't think the Azazel on the show is the same angel that fell along with Lucifer. Also we haven't seen any fallen angels on Lucifer's side. We've only seen demons, and they're twisted/burned human souls not fallen angels cast into Hell. And someone mentioned the Horsemen being demons. They're not. They're just the physical form of natural occurrences.
