I have empathy for her. Some people are abused or neglected which leads to sick behavior. It is a fact. It does not excuse her crimes, it is just a fact that we need to stop ignoring as a society. Society breeds crime then complains about it.

Just watched the film based on this story- i am shocked as to what she went through as a child and ponder on the fact that if just ONE person had shown some kindness to her, she may not have ended up where she did!!

Charlize Theron portrayed Aileen perfectly in the movie Monster.......it was a disturbingly accurate portrayal........and it won her an oscar,which was thoroughly deserved! I have always been fascinated by this case!!
