Ok 1st when rathalos is about to spit fireball or fly up he's head is up when he turns and when he's going to charge or fly forward he's head will be down. Early in the game DO NOT USE SnS (Sword and Shield) it is too weak there are much much better alternatives.

You got one helluva armor on, taking that many hits and suffering only that much dmg... but if your going to fight with your 1st rathalos and ur going to bring a SnS your going to take too long or just get timed out. for begginers Katana is the best choice and for the adept bring your hammer or GS. SnS early in the game is less than desirable.

you know how to dodge the attack of a rathalos when he is in the air and stings you with his tail??? i always get hit by that attack and get poisoned and most of the times also ko'ed. only some rathalos do that. btw when i get ko'ed i press everything (exept 4 L, arrows, start and select) until there is only one star left. then i only tap X. that's a little faster.

actually ko duration can be wiped moving by the analog stick counter-clockwise...and he does not sting with his tail...only rathian and garuga does that but rath...he stings u with claws...(just a small fact)

Treat rathalos as a really big kut ku that's all. I killed my first Rathalos(solo) using full kut ku armour and a blango decimator.

hes not so hard at all hes only big in size but not in skill use a decent defensive armor and a decent weapon you can take him on,the frost edge is perfect for rathalos since they are weak in ice or water based weapon,yian kut ku is more versatile than normal rathalos,dunno bout the silver rath though

His was are remarkable. I killed rathalos in like 20 minutes D: I need shorter time to get faster armour. One rathalos match usually costs me a demon drug a pitfall trap lots of potions and lots of mega potions. But you taught me how to finish faster and less casualties, thanks!

Any armor really does at the beginning but I suggest just using a Sword and Shield, easiest weapon to learn and master. :D

As for armor though, having autotracking kinda helps at the beginning.

no, i have full garuga and sentoryu wolf, kut ku isnt really going to help at all, and dont use silver serpent blade, take ur time to get a better wep cuz the upgrade materials needed for it is only in g-rank quests when you carve white v-prey, i recommend to use plesioth finblade

The devil slicer is a nice weapon, but it depends which MH you're playing, cause the devil slicer in MHF2 (It's a Katana not a GS there) is much better for killing Rathalos in my opinion. And Khezu armor is good armor so that works.

Some nice alternatives for fighting Rathalos is a Frost Edge, a nice poison SNS or a decent great sword or dual swords if you have any practice with them cause you can get some nice oppurtunities to use Devilish Dance (the Circle+Triangle attack used while in demonization mode).

Well, I used the best Kirin armor, but this was also MHF1, I used it for Artisan and it gave Health Item Recov+. And my sword was the Black Ruiner Sword I think it's called, I forgot now cause I haven't gotten it yet in MHF2. :P

And a decent bow and Ear Protect is a good combo for Rath's it makes fighting them much easier. SNS's are usually the most practical weapon for fighting Rathalos'

Just be patient and go for nice head strikes, when he's not in rage and he shoots a fireball is a nice time to get a well aimed charge strike, or when he flies in the air, you can charge while he's lowering and get a full charge hit on his head and quickly roll away and guard or keep rolling/running.

Ok easy way to do it is to gun him down on MH1 and if you don't have weps from the online mode your shit out of luck so to speak. They shut the servers down but that's no prob. Use poison battleaxe. With guns use one with good attack and clust,crag,ice,pellet, and pierce capability if you can't get one with em all find one with atleast crag and clust. Bring large barrel bombs. If you time right you can get him with the bombs as he is landing.

Heres one thing when rathalos/rathian roars into fury mode you can't escape it. Right after they roar they follow it up with a fireball or charge while ur still cupping ur ears.
