Cool vid, but you should never touch whale sharks or manta rays. They have a thin membrane covering their skin which protects from parasites. If you touch it, it breaks and lets in parasites and infections which can end up killing the shark. I know it's an old vid and this wasn't known back then. Amazing experience to swim with them though!

why does that "reinforce man's dominion over the creatures of nature" if a mante ray slows down for a clumsy slow person to pet or ride?

Beautiful images but the sight of so many divers grabbing corals and other animals is disturbing. What's up with that?! People need to cut that out.

To be perfectly honest these shots are about 10-15 years old before divers knew any better.
