As a song writer Dave surely is the superior guitar player, but his lead playing remains as sloppy as his kill em all days, that what seperated him from Kirk. Kirk grew, he had more complex phrasing, cleaner licks and made the limited knowledge he had recieved from joe satriani come incredibly far. Learn....

you are mental. Dave Mustaine's lead playing isn't sloppy especially live. The only "sloppy" thing is when you can hear the pick slicing on the strings in songs like this and hangar 18. BUT you can only hear that because his playing is twice as fast as Kirk. And the only the Kill Em' All solos sound bad is because of the low quality recording. And Dave taught himself. He didn't have a high esteemed guitar player like Satriani and he remains better than Kirk. And Metallica's "Alternative".....

Heres a few corrections, Kirk has sweeped in Leper Messiah. Diatonic Triads, what you meant by complex scales were actually Augmented Pantatonics/minors, not very hard. Scales arent very complex to grasp its memorizing them. You kinda brought yourself down with the fact that youve been playing for only 4 months, because you definately showed that you retain one months worth of knowledge theory and history. All ive seen dave do is show himself as a leech feeding off the talent of his ex bandmates

albums aren't masterpieces in anything. Mustaine also grew. You can hear it in "Endgame" because in "Dialectic Chaos" he has a sweep solo taught to him by Chris Broderick. I have never heard Hammet do a sweep in anything he has ever done. His solos are boring and simple as well. In my 4 month of learning guitar I learned the tapping solo in "One" and i still have yet to earn the skill to play a Megadeth Solo. Also Dave is better because he can play complex scales while singing like in.....

"Tornado of Souls." Now don't get me wrong, Kirk Hammett can do some cool stuff on his guitar. But it is dismal compaired to the things I have seen Dave do. And at least when Megadeth plays their old stuff they do it right, up to speed and gritty sounding. When Metallica plays their old stuff live it sounds like blink 182 farted into a microphone. I have seen both bands live multiple times so don't attempt to tell me that i am wrong. Why don't you think before you post song Dave bashing....
