WEP is no longer secure, it can be cracked in minutes. Use WPA2 AES, not TKIP for the highest security.

my router does not support passwords for ssid its ssid is 135482 and no password and yesterday i had over 2000 people using it because its in an appartment

Don't use WEP.Use WPA or WPA2.If you do that,you have much less of a chance of being hacked.

but, i don't know how to make a new network thingy. i already have a router and im connected to it (obviously) but i want to make it secure cuz people keep connecting to my network and lagging it. please reply

click 'network center'

at your left click 'manage wireless networks'

@Mindfxcker LOL, that comment was over a year ago but i appreciate your help nonetheless. i had already figured out how to configure wireless networks and have learned a lot more about computers than i did a year ago. but thanks anyway.

maybe you can help me then? :) i made a network and now its in that list of wireless networks, but i need to get it in the list where you can choose the network you want to connect with.. =/
