1st off we are not looking to chop human bodies up with one swipe. We are showing what a well made knife can do. Even a skilled swordsman would have difficulty keeping up with some of us in a course event. If you think its so easy bring your sword out and try it.
this is dumbest shit I've ever seen. You hillbillies ever heard of a Samurai Sword? those things can chop a human body in half in one swipe. It makes your little girl knives look like butterknives
@davedisaster12 - What a moronic comment. If you aren't interested in this why take the time to talk down about it? Enjoy your samurai sword on your next camping trip.
No. Everyone uses there own knife. The knife can be no longer than 15'", no wider than 2" and a max blade length of 10". You cut the course with one knife start to finish.
Bud was a long way from having and accident. The knife slipped in his hand and he corrected. He did not endanger himself or anyone else. But it looked fierce.
Scarey how he very nearly lost complete control of the knife at the end 2x4. Just goes to show how even an experienced person can nearly make a fierce accident.
The most popular style tang is a full tang with a horse trailer rubber matt for handles. There are a few full tangs that have had the rubber milled out so that the rubber goes all around it. There are not any stick/narrow tangs that we are using. The blades are from 1/4" to 3/8". Spec on the knives are 15" over all, 10" of blade 2" wide, any thickness. Thanks
What's the most used handle/tang style in this sport. The full width tang handle? Are there any stick/narrow tang handles being used,or are they considered being too weak? And what's the thickness of these blades..by the way, Great video !
thats pretty cool, i do iaido and tameshigiri so i can understand how easy it can look to make cuts, its really fuckin hard and alot of people dont realize that. these are some very difficult cuts more so with a knife.
Why do people chase a little ball on a golf course? Why do people play baseball, basketball, and football? Why do people race cars, and horses? Why do people cut up lumber? BECAUSE IT IS FUN.
I think we'll be seeing the manufacturers copying these large Warncliff blades in the near future... Especially for battaning, chopping, firemaking, ect... thats a big lucrative market nowadays... the Warncliff was always a great blade shape for a variety of tasks.. and its straight edge is fairly easy to sharpen.
great video thanks for loading it! Looks like that blunt tip profile is really popular. More weight I guess out front? Im gonna have to attend one of these after I forge a knife to spec. well that and get trained :)
