My eldest sister went to school with Colin. I remember seeing him having a drink in The Nesbitt and saying to my mates 'wow, that's Colin Cooper there'. Great band and RIP Colin.
My first "real" concert was in 1979, Climax Blues opened for Peter Frampton. Both acts were awesome and will always have a special place in my heart!!! Also, first time I saw girls flash at the styage, I was a VERY young 14, and a VERY excited one as well...RIP..
This video makes me cry. RIP Grandpa, there are so many people down here who miss you an who are remembering you through song. That's how it should be.
All the positive comments about Colin Cooper are great, an let me tell you he was a great great man. I can imagine him playing this back to me and my brother and cousins and telling us about it. Sadly he died too soon to do that.
Went to see them on this tour and they were still superb live. All band members were happy to stop, chat and have their photo taken with you after the gig. Great bunch of guys.
he was friends with my grandad , he told me whenever he came off tour he'd come into the local buy everyone a drink and was the nicest bloke you could meet :'(
Always like CBB and this song, but Colin should have given it up long before this 2004 effort. His once smooth voice is rough and gravelly and he's just trying way too hard here. Some old rockers can keep it going 30-40 years later...Colin wasn't one of them. God bless and RIP, Colin.
I am glad to hear the story of the Climax Blues Band continuous. The band fulfil Colin Cooper's wish and carry on. They start their tour to Europe with an open-air performance at a Blues n'Jazz Festival in Switzerland next Friday. Good luck, Johnny, Lester, George, Neil and Roy!
Quality! God bless Colin...a true blues legend, and may Climax continue to fly the flag... check out a fine selection of Climax toons on iTunes, the last few albums and some of the old stuff.... Marvellous!
Now that the gig has been announced we can confirm that some of the special guests are Jeff Rich and John 'Rhino' Edwards drummer and bassist from Status Quo who will be Joining Climax on Stage also throwing his hat into the ring is legendary Guiatrist Steve Gibbons, More Details on further Guests to follow.
Plans are going forward at a fast pace now the memorial gig is getting nearer. Some top musicians have come forward asking to be added to the bill, more details to follow.Tickets are moving steadily now that the press have announced the gig and tickets are still available from the theatre box office on Stafford 01785 253595
First live show I ever saw was Climax Blues Band opening for Marshall Tucker Band in 1978 here in the USA. It was a great show. Sorry to learn of Colin's passing. He was a really cool guy. I'll never forget him.

How cool would have that been if the singer wore a wig that looked just like his old 1970's hair lol...
Thanks for this awesome performance

Thirty years later. the voice is rougher but still awesome. Still love "Climax Blues Band".
More songs to look for: "I Love You". "Cuttin' Up Rough". "Shake It Lucy".
The last one is hard to find. Don't forget "Last Chance Saloon".
Awesome band!
