  • fuck. this is like birdland by patti smith.

  • Amazing. Long live the Queen

  • Great vidio

  • she ever play this or Pavlov's Daughter live!? Those two have to be the best songs I ever heard and would live to hear a live recording.

  • I only just found this and the whole song I was finding it difficult to believe that dear sweet Regina really sang this. I am a massive fan but when I hear her singing, it is difficult to connect her voice to a human being. It is something above and beyond.

  • I had this song stuck in my head all day lol :)

  • This song is a true testament to the versatility and beauty of her voice. She always sounds incredible, but in this song her voice just has this incredible lilt and sassiness to it, as opposed to the soft sweetness of her other songs (which she pulls off just as well).

  • Who on earth disliked this?

  • I work in police precinct number X

  • @bellameyer I think the same thing with just about every new Regina song I come across that I've never heard. lol. She's brilliant beyond words.

  • i love this song, especially when she goes " muh-muh-muh-muh"! that is sooooooo cool! i don't know of any other singer that can do that without looking totally stupid. regina, however, just looks FRICKIN' AWESOME!

  • I will never get over the range of her voice--not just pitch-wise, but also the control she has, the way she can manipulate tone and timbre, the vast number of styles she can adopt and yet remain completely herself.

  • Booming!

  • this is actually my favourite song by her. I love her voice, you don't come across a voice like this everyday. Her music is something special for sure.

    she is amazing <33

  • This song is just eerily awesome. I love her style, it reminds me a bit of Nellie McKay.

  • i got a crush on her

  • me too <3

  • dude, its about immigration.

  • This song gives me the shivers it's so amazing.

  • Old Regina's songs evoke some Fiona Apple, but more amazing.

  • I was going to write the same thing, but you were faster( Of course, Regina's more fascinating, nobody's have to be worried about it ;) )

  • one of my best songs..

    great talent

    regina rulez :)

  • oh my goodness...la regina.

  • One of my most favorite songs from Regina Spektor from one of her most original albums, 11:11. Amazing.

Pure genius. Her genius is portrayed in many views:

    creative tune

    Low to high

    High to low

    Unique lyrics with colorful vocabulary.

    Total ReSpekt. <3

  • I think this song is about suicide... A woman is sitting on her porch, confused between her thoughts and reality, about to take her own life. It is like an allegory because she is referencing new york city and convinces herself that someone else is trying to take "the back of her head" or life... The ambulance comes to late however because she has already shot herself.

  • you're fucking crazy, it's about immigration =P

  • @scoobles08 you're fucking crazy it's def about her life in New York :p

  • damn!... the best song writer of the decade and performer and lyricist and musical genius

  • i love this song.

  • then she devotes about a minute of the song to scalpers and street vendors all of whom are selling things that either can't be sold or don't exist. I think that's a humorous reference to the fact that not everything being sold on the street are what the vendors say they are.

  • I think that in general it's about new york city. she talks about people who pretend they are more important than they are (the gym techer and the geraniums). The ambulance coming too late could be a reference to the traffic. The pandas and bears could be a reference to the central park zoo.

  • lol dude I want to know the meaning of the song in general? like what is everyone's perception of the song in entirety? thxxx =]

  • The bass in this song owns! The voice in this song owns even more!

  • 4:09

  • 4:12 :)

  • 11:11 :)(:

  • I am just utterly mesmerized and intoxicated by this unbelievable voice! This woman is a "demigod" herself.

  • Her voice is so beautiful in this song!

  • Her voice is so beautiful in EVERY song.

  • I hope Spektor's next album is better than Far. Her lyrics were creative, maybe not groundbreaking, but they weren't pop. And she was beautiful.

  • DAMN. SO fucking Lovely. Crazy lyrics, I really enjoy it.

  • oh. my. god.

she is a fucking goddess. <3

  • This is one powerful song; Regina Spektor expresses New York with her whole soul, everything is in this song! :]

  • THIS is new york!!! I love her voice when she says that!! Thats MY back of the head..Thats M-m-m-m-m-m-m-mine...HAHAHHAHA!!! I laugh at that everytime!

  • AMAZING...one of her best, although I really say that about EVERY song I hear of hers! She's brilliant and edgy and charming...what a wacked-out and yet perfect combination!

  • hahahhahaahha! this song is so soulful AND funny! I love it! :)

  • that's horrible!

but thank you so much for posting these.

i wouldn't have found out about her otherwise, and she is now my favorite artist!

  • OMG THAT'S SO SAD!! pavlovs daughter was definately one of her best songs. such a darker side to her. are they taking them down on her behalf? I guess if WMG has to start somewhere for taking off music off the internet, youtube is the first place to go. just not regina!!! nooooo :'(

  • WMG has been taking down any of their licensed content on Youtube ever since they closed their own channel in December and essentially cut all "official" ties with Youtube.

So I doubt that whatever WMG - or any of the other RIAA affiliates - takes down is not ultimately on any artist's behalf but only for the sake of their own stubborn reasoning as they try to desperately hold onto an failing business model and antiquated copyright law of last century...

    /end RIAA rant :P

  • also, i like the big crashing chords. they remind me of west virginia for some reason.

  • yes it's quite good but extremely random.

  • this song is wonderful.

  • every time i hear her she seems more profound

  • hmm what happened to Pavlov's daughter?

  • Warner Music Group (WMG) filed a copyright takedown notice with Youtube, so it was taken down. I could dispute it but it likely would be rejected, even though this is fair-use. But that's WMG for ya...

  • ive never heard her sing like this its amazing , so unique. i was like paralyzed while listening to this

  • Thanks a lot for uploading these old 11:11 songs. They are honestly my favorites of hers. This song is super fun to cover.

  • No problem. They are my favorite too.

WMG has begun filing copyright takedowns for a few of them though...I wouldn't be surprised if more go soon -_-

  • ok i love this song but could someone tell me what it's about? like i don't understand the lyrics

  • Most of Regina's songs are obscure and open to interpretation. Personally I like to make up my own little stories for them, but that's not to say they're meaningless - they probably hold a special meaning for Regina. :)

  • "And there's a back of a truck selling crumb-free bread This is New York! Now, there's a back of a truck selling the back of a car And there's a back of a car selling roadway maps And there are roadway maps selling the back of a head Hey, how much for that back of a head, man? Hey, wait a minute Hey, wait a minute Wait a minute, that—wait a minute, that's My back of a head! Hey, you can't sell that, man, that's My back of a head Hey, hey sell it back to me!" LOVE IT!
  • lolol! love ya Regina. and you've done it again!

  • W O W !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • muh-muh-muh-muh-muh-muh-muh-muh-muh-myyy that is soooooo sweet i love her and i love the way she plays with her voice she is simply and totally a sweetheart

  • sexy! wow she blows me away like Im a speck of sand!

  • the part where she begins "to the people of new guinea" and so on, it sounds really cool.

  • Dowg...D-O-W-G....

    Ha ha ha...i Love Regina.

  • Thank you for this - maybe you could upload a version with more pictures of her, would be more of a promotion than it is now, I think, plus a link to her album on Amazon in the sidebar

  • Why is this -4? This isn't a negative comment.

  • Oh wow I didn't notice. I have no idea why it's -4, as you say it's not a negative or irrelevant comment. I meant what I said. And actually, the person who uploaded this did add the link to the album, which I think is just convenient and something like honoring the singer. I mean, this is not Madonna we're talking about, let the girl earn the money of those who can afford it (and are willing to), right?

  • My favourite Regina song right now!!<33 It gives me thrills along my spine. (Sorry for bad english) Just gotta love it!!

  • Uuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh just DIVINE!

  • it's perfect.

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! regina never ceases to amaze me in every way!

    mmm-hmmm she is fantastic, isn't she? =D

  • hey yeah man she is so awesome shes the most wonderful human on earth

  • I'm fairly new to Regina Spektor's fanclub, so to speak, and I haven't heard a lot of her songs, but right now, I am absolutely in love with this one. <3

Thank you so much for uploading!

  • Her best song.

  • definitely in my top 5.

  • oh my god. i've never heard regina spektor like this before! i'm absolutely blown away! this is so intense and seductive even. i love it!

  • First time I hear this song. It is again a Regenius song. Does anyone know a bad song of Regina? I don't. Here a great part: And there are roadway maps selling the back of a head Hey, how much for that back of a head, man? Hey, wait a minute Hey, wait a minute Wait a minute, that—wait a minute, that's Myy back of a head Hey, you can't sell that, man, that's Myy back of a head Hey, hey sell it back to me, man, sell it back to me, hey, it's It's my, muh-muh-muh-muh-muh-muh-myyy Oh
