"I saw you makin' love to a group of my best friends, so I looked them right in their eyes, and said, "Listen, Group..."
I saw Loaf during the Bat Out of Hell tour (Santa Monica Civic 1978), and Steinman came out midway to do a couple of songs, including this one. When he did that line above, we literally fell to our knees laughing. Genius, sheer genius.
I worked with two people in theater who worked on the show "More Than You Deserve" at the public theater, where Meat Loaf and Jim first met! The people I worked with met on that show and later got married. I sang this song to them as a gift at the cast party:-)
Neither of them met Jim or Meat for that matter. He worked in lights and she worked in props. However, there is a great Fred Gwyn (Herman Munster) story they told me. They called my friend down to Fred's dressing room. Fred said it was dark in there. My friend just simply turned the bulbs on the make up mirror till they lit. Fred then said. "Those make it too hot in here".

Best version of this song hands down, Jim Stienman is the lord of excess, and of rock n roll
