Nice ride!!.. I have a 1970 Corvette with LT1 blown engine projects around 600hp... I am planning to get a NOS for my car but not sure, its really hard to hold the ride :))
Anyways, is Precision torque converter necessary for Drag racing with a Manual drive? I assume you have Automatic transmission.
Unfortunately, the video was shot from behind a window - the audio wasn't worth much. We've got some new camera mounts for windshield and fender mounts. We'll post new videos as soon as possible. Thanks for watching.
This car just won the 2008 Tremec True Street Competition in Chicago in the 9 second category. It ran four passes at 8.98, 9.04, 9.08 and 9.033. Part of the competition is that the cars must drive a total of 30 miles between the runs within a certain amount of time to prove their streetable.
great car but i have seen toyota supras that do the quarter mile faster and with a higher top speed, and this thing is a muscle car its ment to do quarter miles fast, oh well great vid
Thing about Supras, though, is that they have forced induction (Ie. Turbochargers). The video here says that it's naturally aspirated. For a car that doesn't have air forced in to it's engine, that's pretty damn impressive.
I don't know about this particular car, but I know that MY '68 Vette weighs 3400+ pounds, whereas Supra's generally run under 3000# (a difference of .5 sec in 1/4!)!
And I've *NEVER* seen a juiced Supra, which can run 9's, that can actually drive anywhere on the streets.
Apples and tomatos - your comparison is unmerited.
Nice ride! Street legal even - sweet. @1:07 looks like you lifted the front tires. Thats what's so nice about the early vettes the rear end bites and goes regardless of size of tires.. It's a bonus with slicks like yours :D
