@symanx00 I don't think that's really the way to look at it. A good cover is the artist's own personal interpretation, and she has clear;y put a lot of thought into it. It's difficult to make raw songs sound polished, and it's something to be proud of. This is an amazing cover, and it sounds beautiful when sung so melodically.

i dont think you can tell me how to look at it.we have differing opinions. raw to polished isnt a hard transition. i think if MM wanted to make the song sound polished, they would have done so. its hard to bring the emotion out of songs, and thats what the rawness brings. she has a great voice, i just dont think its right for this song. its a painful song. it would be like her trying to sing "doll parts." sounds like nursery rhyme, not as soulbearing as the lyrics portend it to be

I posted a Doug Martsch song earlier and ever since I been finding covers of BTS/MM songs all over the place! Some people have commented on the lack of... feeling. I see what they mean, but at the same time it's fair to say it's not the most "raw" of MM songs, and taking it as you find it and expressing it your own way, seems to have worked pretty well for you. Do Interstate 8 and scream "YOU GO OUT LIKE A RIPTIDE" etc, then maybe I'll be able decide wether or not you impress me lol.
