Do you really think that a “Decorated Combat Veteran and Recipient of the Navy Cross” would ever in his right mind diminish the sacrifice HIS OWN SON is willing to make in Iraq, for strictly political gain? But Webb did it to his own son! You have to be some kind of twisted to be able to do that to your own child.

I am also, a member of the “Dark Side Alumni” (O-Type) and I have only recently been able to tolerate West Point Grads! Now the question is: was Jim Webb a Democrat in Vietnam? Can you as an Officer effectively lead in Combat if you are diametrically opposed to the cause your country is fighting for? I could only answer for myself and say NO! While in Iraq, I fully knew and continue to believe that Saddam Hussein, the Baathists, and their Al Qaeda Bed-Fellows were tyrants and could never be negotiated with. So my mission became to force them to exit this planet before they kill anymore innocent people.
