I've only just discovered Donald O'Connor in recent months. Excellent dancer, singer, actor and comedian. I enjoy his work in Singin' in the Rain, his comedic dance routines with Peggy Ryan (who is also quite underrated), and then the more romantic dances he could do with a brilliant dancer like Vera-Ellen.

Check out my channel and those of my friends like LoveTheO'Connor, TheSorrowfulFlower, wasitoyou, catwomanpl1, etc. for great uploads, montages, and tributes. He won the Golden Globe for Singin' and an Emmy as best male star for his T.V. show. He was huge in the 40's, 50's, and 60's, and had great stage success into the 80's and 90's. He was a wonderful man and an amazing, adorable talent!

Thanx for this terrific tribute to a triple-threat talent! Donnie is best remembered for his iconic number in "Singin' In The Rain" to be sure, but he was so much MORE than the guy who knew how to "make 'em laugh". He could sing, he could REALLY dance, wrote hit tunes, and played five musical instruments. He had an elfin charm that is irrestisble to women. He had class and charisma. Donald O'Connor remains a tough act to follow !!!

i don't understand how he is or could be underrated. with that much intense talent and energy how does he go unacknowledged, unrecognized, whatever, how?? in my eyes he is so not underrated. YO ACADEMY! HONOR THIS MAN WITH THE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD ALREADY!!!! if you have then very good. if not then WTF!

@2004dale Yes, Donald is the BEST!!!!! He was incredibly popular in the 40's, 50's, and 60's and he had great success into the 80's and 90's with live shows. For some reason? he reminds me a little of Danny Kaye` that same snap and witty sparkle before the camera. Yet he is still a pleasure to see working): these vintage photos look so alive its like he is still here.
