@Walliburton The point is though, over here (uk) BMW's are so over subscribed, its no longer a particualry special or exclusive brand anymore. They are just street furniture lol. Jaguar retains that special aura not just here but all over the world and there global sales grow year on year. This has to be one the big cats great era's and long may it continue.

At the end of this vehicle he says that the Geram rivals are more refined. This is absolutle rubbish, a comment not based on fact but perception. I drove the new Jaguar XJ and the new Audi A8 back to back at a recent test, the Jaguar was equal if not better than the Audi.

This tester alos say the German rivals have 'sounds', suspension tarvel and chassis absorbtion over bumps. I can tell you I heard more sounds in the A8 than I did in the XJ, the XJ is equal if not superior, poor review.

The performance stats sound great but where is the true Jag DNA? Absolutely zero exterior reference to the classic XJ style and design but rather a headlight cluster from BMW 3-series, a side profile from the Audi A6 and a tail from a Buick. Sir William Lyons is surely turning over in his grave. Happy to still have an '84 Vanden Plas!

S550 still rules the segment. This Jag is HOT, but I'm not as impressed with its interior space as I thought I'd be. I just got finished driving the XJ-L Supercharged.

@ViolentWhiteMan I test drove the s550 and jag xls. You seem to get more for less with the new Jag. I found the s550 nice but a bit boring in style. The XLS was loaded with sleek stying. It is part BMW, Mecedes 550 &CLS and a little Lexus all in one.

I agree with you. The Jag is definitely more exciting inside. The interior is beutiful - mostly because ITS THE NEWER CAR. I loved the Jag's widescreen virtual display.

Thing is, the S550 is the softer ride. The Jag's ride has alot of road feel. The S550 does have a more sterile interior but that's due to it being the older car.

Prachtige auto maarde achterlichten lijken toch wel heel veel op bentley (grill ook trouwens), maakt niet uit want het blijft een hele mooie auto, achterkant had wat mooier gekunt.

About the sport mode: I think it's no surprise at all why the D mode is better to drive with. The sport mode isnt called sport for nothing, because you would be racing at that time. I suppose you dont want to race with a Jaguar on the open streets.

Handsome & unique-looking car. Who would've guessed something so 'fresh' from Jaguar, of all automakers?

I like the distinct stylized interior of the XJ. The XF interior is too Lincolnesque.

The engine sounds like an American muscle car, though, not a finely tuned, high-end automobile.

Overall, I like it a lot.
