The truth is that Gogeta came before than Vegito because when you watch timeline. Vegeta was dead, Goku was dead. Gotenks owned his Super Saiyan power and so on.
Yeah i always try to fit the movies into where they took place in the anime so in tenkaichi 2 it said after buu saga and i was like no..wrong but only 1 saga makes no sence..thats the turles movie cuz goku dies against raditz and next time he sees piccolo he hass Kaioken but thats on Namek but in the movie he has Kaioken on earth but Piccolo should be dead cuz of Nappa. its hard to explain

Well by the time Goku and Vegeta both get back to earth Goku has the Potara earings so theres no point to do that fusion because it will wear off in 30 minutes. So potara was the better option. But I think if they did fusion they could of finished him off quicker cuz Vegeto kinda dragged along the fight Gogeta showed no mercy to Janemba also
i dont think he realy needs to cuz super vegeto is power powerfull than Super saiyan 3 but im not sure they should of gone super saiyan 3 cuz they would be hell of alot stronger as well.
