Shuffling and music are two different things.. shuffling and footwork were made in two differnt places when they both emerged. I believe they both came from something else lol :]
After looking into it, it seems that this "Shuffle" was originally done to techno music. Which originated here in America.
Now, Techno developed from HOUSE music. And Footwork is what you do to House music. So therefore, People were doing Footwork first. It seems to me that People saw footwork and changed it up a little into their own thing. Which is cool, but you have to admit they didnt invent it on their own. Just like we get footwork from Jitterbug, you get shuffle from footwork.
I'll have to look into the melbourne shuffle then. Footwork was developed from mixing the jitterbug (Early 1900's) and African Dances. Although, our style "Footwork" was not officially introduced until the 90s... And if you think Footworking isnt dancing with the music, then you have never seen anybody footwork before. If you go to a battle and someone is off beat they get laughed off.
maybe not, maybe in the vids of battles ive seen i just cant here the music. Ya, for melbourne shfl, in a serious battle, if ure in a crew and the dancer from ure crew loses he has to take off his shirt representing his crew and burn it on the street.

Its like you're trying to expand off of it, and I can see where you're going with it. But you need to add a lot more in my opinion. What you're doing is just too plain and repetitive. Practice some footwork and incorporate some of our moves into your shuffle and then I bet that will be a lot titer. Just my 2 cents.
