@RunningBlue22 your such a fucking idiot, ya its a mag but every conflict before ww2 a clip was used so most vets called it a clip. Try to make yourself look like less of an ass.
Oppenheimer was an American Jew. Having said that, there were people from all over the world who helped to include Fermi from Italy, Bohr from Denmark, Einstein from Switzerland.
@DonMeaker Einstein was original a german jew, he just didn't want to live there anymore after Hitler came to power and later became citizen of switzerland
im so glad those nazi cunts didnt get the M1....that would be a problem cos i believe americas fire power gave them a huge advantage....and thats not counting the atom bomb.
When you compare Germany's economic GNP and Population compared to the combined GNP and Populations of USA, UK and Soviet Union it's amazing that they almost won the war. They killed their opponents in huge ratios favoring Germany. Of course you'd never know it watching Hollywood's version of WW2 but the Germans were amazingly powerful for their numbers. Thank God we won!!
I want to see a WWII game with those types of guns that people wouldnt recognize. And why has there not been 1 ww 2 game that has the italian army. the italians had some pretty intresting looking guns :)
Now that i read it again, i misunderstood you. I thought by "while our army dwindles" i thought you meant our army was getting weaker because of the casualties in Iraq. Now i realize you meant it's naturally doing that. relatively speaking, of course.
yeah since vietnam I think we stopped relying on having large troop size and started focusing on high technology that can do the damage of a larger army without risking the lives.
I've never really been impressed when someone says "Korea has a one million man army or china has a billion soldiers etc.
If you look at what the germans were doing on the eastern front against a much larger opponent then it is evident that better tech (and not fighting two wars on different fronts) is effective
Yeah, we were comparing the benefits of manpower vs. efficiency/technology, and were talking about how even while manpower in Iraq is less than it was in WWII, we are more efficient.
@TheProjektcc True. You will very rarely find a German that would rather have quantity over quality. Germans try to make things the best, they don't really care if they have to spend a lot of money.
You are absolutely right my friend which is why even the most advanced nations should work to avoid these large scale long term wars because the cheaper and more cost effective armies who can produce their weapons and man power more consistently has the advantage in such a scenario.
@TheProjektcc Quality over quantity only works up to a point. The USSR and USA overwhelmed the Germans with massive numbers of Shermans and T-34's that were inferior to the Panthers and Tigers.
MG34, excellent weapon, unfortunately a bit delicate, requiring careful maintenance and cleaning. Also, it was expensive to manufacture. The MG42 solved these problems and gave the German Army a powerful scythe not yet equaled. The tactics developed along the machine gun were later adopted by other armies, often used by the US soldiers in Vietnam, even when the American weapon (the M60) did not come close at all to the reliability and power of the MG42.
@ftorresgamez "Not yet equaled"? That's not exactly true. There are more reliable, useful and convenient machine guns today, such as the PKM. The PKM has its magazine below, whereas the MG3 has its magazine on the side, which is inconvenient. The PKM is also lighter and has a more comfortable recoil.
First of all, that's not a joke. I have an excellent sense of humor , and that excellent sixth sense tells me that your Call of Duty reference was just a cry for attention.
Seriously, leave Call of Duty for game videos. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but it's kinda a silly to make references to a video game.
Yeah, but games like Call of Duty inspire poeple to learn more about the wars; that's how I got started studying guns and wars. Yeah, I know. I'm just saying. I don't know why people think that Video Games are a bad source for Info. I realize that they're not all that accurate, but it just gives people a general idea about these kind of things.
the germans before the war had very effective weapons, but when the russians and americans pushed back, they figured "oh shit , we gotta hurry up and make more weapons" and thats when the weapon quality skyrocketed downwards, and that contributed to their downfall. correct me if i'm wrong
Super wrong, both Americans and Russiands didn't go much further with weapons for America until the Vietnam War and for Russia shortly after at the start of the Cold War.
i know that the americans and russians didnt make many more weapons until the start of The Cold War, in fact, from what i've read, the russians did not have that much in the way of weapons, their main two composed of the mosin nagant, and the svt. but thank you for correcting me :D
Actually, the main weapons of Russia were very useful and they had a huge arsanal. Especially with the addition of the AK 47 in 1947. The year the Cold War started. In America the M16 and M60 came out in time for the Vietnam War.

quality vs quantity is the essential german philosophy even to this day.
Why put out alot of crap when you could put out a few gems.
even the americans now follow this trend while our army dwindles in man power it gets bigger and stronger in technology and quality of weapons.

@TheProjektcc It is true as long as you are not loosing anything. Or if you have too few people to call to arms.
But in a long term war (where you have great losses) or when you have a shortage of time and many people to spare. Then quatnity has its own quality.
