Duty or loyalty, I'm glad that he didn't leave with her, that would be very selfish and cowardly. and it'll be just a cheesy love story :) the fact that he stays behind to fight with his people shows that he's a real man.

Best movie scene when Tristan realises that he has won his love Isolde for Marke.
His character seems to be a little bit "frozen" and unemotional sometimes, but this scene and his facial expression - so deep and touching!
By the way, wonderful decision to combine tristan&isolde with evanescence!
