cant u just use the same concept as the mob trap for ALL the farm mobs,then do a checkered patern of 1by1 holes so the chicken fall throughand be sent to either the egg farm or death chamber? Would that work? (egg farm is a tall 1by1 hole with a water stream below so when they have eggs they fall into a hole.)

@pipy0090Put a sticky piston facing down one block over sand, so the sand lifts up, then falls Wire it to a lever and click super fast If you click fast enough, an xtra sand should pop out every other click I'm not sure if it got patched, but I don't think so.

I have the same problem w/ gunpowder and sand...except I know where to find sand, it's just so boring to harvest it. Whearas w/ gunpowder I get to watch creepers die from a massive fall, lava, or THE COLD STEEL OF MY BLADE!! So yeah, shoveling away at a beach is pretty dull... And its like 200 blocks away from my base, so I need to commute too...

etho in my world i did a lil testing for the animals spawning i have a lil trick to it as well on the spawning pads place a torch every 2 spots and it shud work alot faster but it needs to be nighttime because they spawn when its more lit in just one area so if its dark theyll spawn to the highly lit part in the day time theres to much bright zones so they will not spawn as fast :)

It's a canal where you ride boats, his first one is now abandoned and his second one hasnt been worked on for awhile, but its going to go to the other island. It's a mode of transportation much faster than walking and faster than using a boat in the ocean without any boosts.

@3lvewyn He wants it all organised so they will be killed automatically. Then he can pull a lever and decide what he wants to come down the pipes to his pickup zone. He will probably never REALLY use any of it, but it is basically for the purpose of saying, "I have an awesome automated mob killing system! Check this out! I can pick whatever I want to come down this pipe!" It is also because he enjoys trying to figure out things and he enjoys working with the contraptions.

About the zombie pigmen system, that would be pretty hard, as there is no water in the nether.

@snerjeg could use lava...seeing as it flows like water in the nether and pigmen are fire resistant, the only problem would be collecting drops, so killing them above where you would want to collect them would be your only option, but seeing as you don't need to separate them from anything then it doesn't really matter and i guess you can use mine-carts.

It think that with a "smaller" water blade you can separate better chickens from cows. the problem is simple; there's too much water and cows can swim in it. Chickens even with a 1 pixel water blade can jump and jump and jump again ;)

@MogDog66 - Grass takes a long time to grow, and for it to grow, it needs to be next to a grass block. He built a spiral staircase of dirt on the grass, and it eventually went up to the top.

Also, if you want to separate chickens, make a long tower or soemtihng so that passive mobs except chickens will fall to their death and chickens will fly and survive.

Etho should start thinking about how to sort wolves in the future, or an area where mobs pass though (conveyor belt out of water), and you give bones to wolves to sort them out.

Imo having a way to easily aquire wolves should have a higher priority than anything milk-related.

if you never knew, theres a mod called More Creeps and Weirdos which adds a mob that spawns in darkness and drops san :P it'll help a ton in your sand prob
