Could you put live rounds (with properly seated primers) through this or would it be unsafe/impossible?
I only get about 1 or 2 bulged cases per hundred and would rather not resize all cases. I would prefer to resize the live rounds that did not case gauge.
i wonder, would my lee factory crimp die do the same thing with it's carbide sizing ring ? With no bullet in the case to touch the top of the sizing die, I would think you could use the factory crimp die in the same manner.
Thanks for the help. Just to clarify, this brass is now okay to shoot ? I have the factory barrel in my glock 22 and I'm worried about the so called "Kabooms" that happen to glock .40s.
@stsmith666 I have been through about 1000 of them so far with no problems. The 40 is a high pressure round to begin with, so I load about 1/2 grain less than reccomended in the book. Just to be on the safe side.
if you don't mind me asking, where and how much was this die? also about how many reloads do you get from the brass? would it be safe to shoot it again through a glock? I shoot a glock 22 and am trying to get into reloading but there is tons of conflicting info on the internet about the "glock bulge". any tips on a beginner press?
Oh, and thanks for the video..it really helps beginners like me.
@stsmith666 Sorry, did not see your reply. I got it from MidwayUSA and for all 3 parts (Die, bottle and adapter, you dont need the bottle and adapter they just help for doing a lot of brass) about 50 60 bucks. I have the Hornady LNL AP press (actually 2 of em) and love them for progressive. Depends on how many rounds you want to load and how fast.
Nice man. Congrats on your first video. I will say that I want to think that people have been doing this with Lee bullet sizing dies for years, but I am not overly sure.
I guess Redding finally decided to jump on the band wagon, but I think they are about 20 years too late.

So after you remove the buldge you have to run the brass through a regular sizing die right?
RemMan700 1 year ago
@RemMan700 Yes you run it through the normal reloading process after using this die.

Thanks I appreciate it. Only have a Pentax Optio S5i to do the vids. I guess it does o.k., but I will have to find something better.
Not sure how long Redding has had the GRX die out. I have seen people using a LEE Die they cut down to work.
Nice thing with this is using the adapter ring and plastic bottle I can do about 200 to 250 without stopping.
