  • i love your arms.... not many people have good arms, its the down fall of most aspiring ballerinas but yours are beautiful... i'm very envious.

  • fantastic...... I'm writing a ballet and I started after listening to this brilliant piece. I appreciated if you hear :). /watch?v=dwStlJxVcOQ

  • beautiful dance, nice choreography, clean turnout and technique, love the tutu, but i still think the sugar plum fairy should wear pink :)

  • All of them look like some kind of mushroom :) but great video, oc.

  • thumbs up if it looks like she trying to scratch her leg at the beginning.

  • Guys you should try listen to sugar plum dark mix. :)

  • SO BEAUTIFUL <3

  • Fabulous, and I love the surprise ending of this version.

    Compliments;

    Thank you for showing!

  • Whoever designed that stage & the lighting did a terrible injustice to that excellent performer. Shame on them for that shoddy stage job!

  • I love the music, its sooo claming and pretty

  • Great interpretation, nice technics and yeah nice legs too ;)

  • Grace, poise, precision - beautiful.

  • I'm not a big fan of the choreography, but she managed to make it work. She did the best job she could with the bad choreography.

  • Gotta respect an artist who can remember so many darn moves. It gives me a headache just trying to imagine what that kind of task would be like.

  • @nobodyitellyou trust me it is very difficult to remember all the moves in any sort of dance! I am ballet dancer and i moves always stump some people!

  • anyone notice this is baryshnikov's choreography???

  • anyone notice this is BARYSHNIKOV'S CHOREOGRAPHY?????? from his production of the Nutcracker, where Gelsey Kirkland danced to Sugar Plum's music???????

  • she is capable of so much more than that choreography...

  • i'm a dancer in the nutcracker, this isn't amazing, but pointe work is VERY hard. every little thing is difficult. she gets up on her full platform which is good enough.

  • i'm a dancer in the nutcracker, this isn't amazing, but pointe work is VERY hard. every little thing is diffcult. she gets up on her full platform which is good enough.

  • She's very good but I have to agree the choreography could have challenged her more, but altogether it was very nice

  • beautiful dancing.. horrible choreography.. very repetative

  • Very clean...well done....

  • like the costume just not for this dance

  • im the sugar plum fairy in my school program and this is hard to dance D:

  • That idea of dragging one foot behind wasn't quite good.

Though final part was flawless (as I noticed, many versions of Sugar Plum Fairy simply have it skipped).

  • for a professional company dancing on that stage should be embarrassing! I mean that backdrop is pathetic.

  • @sk8phoeve It's not professional.... just a school company.

  • Love the choreography. The dancer makes the moves look way too heavy though. There's no lightness about them like Baryshnikov intended.

  • very beautiful

  • not very good choreagraphy

  • great dancer...choreography?..humm

  • I love the choreography of this, especially at the beginning and at the end. She dances unbelievably lightly! :)

  • I've seen this choreography before.... though I cannot remember where, does anyone else know?

  • Great work. The footwork is perfect, and even though there are not many really impressive movements, I don't think it makes her seem any less impressive. A dancer's potential is not revealed in big moves.

Other than that, I've done some years of pointe, and looking at her just makes me tired. XDD

  • hmmm... that's not Marius Petipa's choreography!

  • classical music has changed so much!!i couldn't help but cry when i herd the differance between modern and classical music

  • This is the same choreography that Gelsey Kirkland performs in the Barishnikov version of Nutcracker. I love this choreography and Simone does a beautiful job with it. And most important of all, as far as I'm concerned, she makes it look effortless.

  • nice vid but i just don't like her variation

  • This is my favorite part =)

  • wow! I wish I was the sugar plum fairy! but i was in Chinese instead :(

  • I love this song! It is very beautiful. It reminds me of my days in Russia, back when I was young.

  • I've been wondering the same thing

  • i tried standing on my toes after watching this. THEN EPIC FAILED

  • Beautiful feet!

  • amazing arches!!

  • Che brava! Very nice dancer!

  • i think its a little bit too fast....

but very good at all... ;)

  • I picture the sugarplum fairy to be mysterious and delicate, and the dance to be slow, fluently and fairytale-like. The song is too fast for me to feel that. And the choreography doesnt allow this wonderful dancer to really be...fairy-like. But she is brilliant at what she does, ballet. My favourite is still Larissa Lezhnina version as the fairy. Just because she had that "feeling"

  • beautiful dancer - great legs and feet! I'm just not a fan of the choreography...not her fault, though! She did fantastic!

  • Outstanding!

  • very good. i dont normally like ballet but this song just makes you want to! i really like the way she twirls.

  • Beautiful!!!

  • it is danced very well, but she could have done something a little more fairy like with her arms for a bit of the time.

    overall, it was REALLY good.

  • is that you?

  • sorry, I mean "terrific".

  • how cute :D

  • terrible dancer

  • i agree. I saw the nutcracker today and it was a mediocre version but still the dance of the sugar plum fairy was much better than this...

  • I'm glad therer was that fast pique/shune turn bit at the end! lots of the variations I've watched were all slow and tiptoie

  • chaine, like chain because the turns are linked together.

    french is weird

  • i havee ta learnn thattt :O

  • So agile and nimble - a pleasure to watch.

  • beautiful, simply beautiful! ! !

    great adaptation

and very good timing, she actually listens to the music :) many dancers have problem with it in the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy

  • I love the twirl she does at 0:42, she's like a puppet!

  • Simone is my ballet teacher now, at yorkshire ballet academy and I love her shes so talanted and gives amazing support. Love you Simi! x

  • so graceful and beautiful. i luv this song too

  • Wow. That was so pretty! Gosh lol i waish i could do that i have only been taking pointe for a year!!

  • I agree with cuticow. She's really good but when she goes up she doesn't fully go on her box.

  • i onlyyyy wissh.

  • i liek how she iches her legs every 10 seconds "yawn" gayyy sorry 8)

  • I like the way she twirls.

  • same!

  • I actually REALLY enjoyed that :))

Having danced three different versions of Nutcracker, and sat through two more versions which kind of adds up to a total of 300 performances danced/watched I thought I was gonna be bored but I wasn't. Never seen this choreography before, which made it a nice change and I thought she did a really good job. Neat, tidy, turned out, resenting feet and everything. Good job! :))

  • @tedsler This is Baryshnikov choreography. :)

  • she's very good but when she does the beets she doesn't go on her box very well. but she's very good

  • and my point is why is he wearing that tut not only her but the sugar plum fairy is also just wearing the swan lake tutu

  • do you know what i dont get.

ive always pictured the sugar plum fairy as that prima ballerina what all the little girls want to gow up to be like in a bright pink tutu. but at our ballet school we used to have a tutu that was covered in big glittery sequins from top to bottom bright pink it was lovely it looked like what you got in a dream like perhaps the dream of sweets and thats the exact thing the sugar plum fairy is in claras dream the dream of the land of sweets.

  • ballerinas are so graceful.. sigh i could never be like that :/

  • It's interesting how this variation changes between different companies

  • mnogu me voodusevija od prekrasnata koreografija =]

  • wow... i was captivated... my sister said i looked dumbfounded watching this vid

    simply beautiful

  • Cute!

  • Did she slip there in the beginning?

    Beautiful otherwise.

  • I take ballet and I hope to be is good as her one day...because WOW what she did was beautiful

  • very good. WOOP WOOP!

  • Ahhh her feet are amazing

  • as we can all see...LOVELY....x.........PS ......my wife comes home with the shopping like that.....and im so glad shes a star.......

  • I want to be a ballerina soooooooooo badly!!!! Oh how I envy the dance kids at school!!! Darn my art skills!!!!!

  • Beautiful dancing and costume, too!!

  • WOAHHH !!!!!! I AM VERY SAD BECAUSE I STOP DANCING ~.~! .. * regrets~ Keep up

  • I know how you feel. I stopped dancing to do karate. Just before I got toe shoes. And you know the whole reason I wanted to a ballerina?!

To be the Sugar Plum Fairy! Ironic, much?

  • I don't like their tu tu's they look funny but I like the song

  • Very good , I love your pointe shoes on you they look really pretty great job!!!

  • It isnt her.

  • what? yes it is!

  • the music and dance are i tiny bit in different time i think its becarse its a vidio

  • Oh no, somebody just give me a candy or chocolate bar. I can't enjoy this music without my sweet treats.

  • I want to be a ballerina SOOOOOOOOOOOO badly!! and I do dance and I'm audtioning for the Nutcracker next year, but I'm super nervous I want the part of Maria!!!!!!!!

  • Good luck! ^_^

  • what happened to the music at the beginning??

  • It is there... just really quiet

  • excellent. :)

  • i love doinmg pointe sooo much fun but if hurt!!

  • w0w i want her feet. :D

  • me too!

  • why? when she puts off her shoes, her feet are bleeding..

  • u could of added a little more choreography, it was a bit bland but very graceful. keep on with the ballet :)

  • u !@#$ suck

  • I wish I could be that graceful! I wish I had continued ballet when I was younger...

  • me too - i had an opportunity but chose not to - one of my great regrets

  • ohh that bass clarinet needs work

  • great!

  • I was in the Nutcracker and it was ssoo awesome. althought i didnt really ahve a main part, it was still fun. (i was in the party scene. im not sure if u know what that is)

  • lolz pause at 0:52

  • omg that was so graceful and AWESOME! all i can do is the splits... *sniffle*

  • point shoes and trust me is soo much harder than it looks!!! O.o

  • how does she stand with her foot so tippy toed ansd still hop like that!?

and from around 2:00 or so, i'd be hella dizzy if i were her...@_@

    she's good! =]

  • well from the shoes, at the bottom, its flat so it is way more easier, and i agree. same here, i would feel like falling to the ground! that stuff is hard!

  • it is!! and your not really on your toes...there is this piece of wood where your toes are and it holds you up a little ..but sometimes your toes are still kinda holding you up..

and when she turns..she spots..its so you wont get dizzy..its pretty easy..but takes practice to really get it right

  • well there isn't really any wood in pointe shoes. just paste and glue

  • There is not. Pointe shoes are made of layers and layers of burlap and glue. There is no wood involved. Grr. My old pointe teacher thought that too, but no.

  • If you have really strong feet it's actually not that hard, believe it or not. And once you get to that level you have as much feeling in your feet at Mr. Deeds, so it's not painful either ;-)

  • she spots very well

  • good! pause at 0:42 its cool

  • how can she dance so fast but still look so graceful?

  • i kno wat u mean that why i love ballet

  • Wow. She's going very quickly. That looks hard to do. She's talented. Far more talented than me. ;)

  • she does really good assemmbles

  • the choreography is pretty simple-lots of courous and some asembles and not much else

  • Yeah, I don't really like it. I have seen better.

  • oh man she is GOOD!

  • where are the bouncies? I like the bouncies!

  • ??????? bouncies??? what are those?

  • really really nice,

    she dance realy good,

    and i love the dress

    EXCELLENT!

  • good job! verrry nice!

  • I know only the basic of ballet but I do know she doesn't have enough charisma to hold my attention to keep watching her

  • i am not coordinated enough to do this! lol but she did a good job

  • That was really pretty! =)

  • is the choreograpghy the same for all of the sugar plum fairy dances?

  • No, definitely not. I know the one I do at my school is Balanchine based, but each artistic director adds something that is their own choreography to it. They mostly follow the same structure though.

    Not always. It's very varied.

  • BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • shes lovely! She did a great job! Beautiful!

  • she works very clean, it's really nice to watch!

I'd like to see a smile on her face once in a while.. (:

in ballet the face is so important!!

  • very repetitive. clean, good, but... slightly boring. doesnt hold audiesnce's attention at some parts.

  • Erm...some of the moves have been missed out and ones left in were rather basic. :( Also I agree with Lucidiez, she could do with some improvement.

  • do you have a clue who this is?

  • the dancer? it's simone clark

  • it was normal, very good technic it was not amazing but good.. who is her ?

    profesional ?

  • This is Simone Clarke, and yes she is a professional dancer...

  • Beautiful !! The choreography might look to simple but its not......I'm a ballet dancer and I think this choreography is perfectly lovely !!

  • too simple... :(

  • it was exelentttttttt

  • Im doing a solo to this song and i have to choeagraph it myself :S

    do you have any tips?

    AND...

she is a very good dancer!

  • she is verry good that dance is so fun to do

  • she was awesome but the choreography was TOO SIMPLE...

  • That is the dance. It should always like that. It wasn't too simple at all.

  • beautifully done. i love the costume too. she's great

  • beautiful technique, she looked so neat and elegant, matched the music perfectly! :)

  • good technique:) BRILLIANT

  • i agree that the choreography was TOO simple but she danced WONDERFULLY!

  • That was cool :D Love the music more than the dancing, but awesome nontheless :D

(I have the sheet music for this song if any piano or flute players are interested)

  • Well....it's a pity that the choreography is so dull and simple, because they have a fabulous score and could do so much more with it.

  • excuse me! the choreography was brilliant. it kept me interested because you never know what she is going to do next. it's the only version of sugar i've ever seen like that. and the score doesn't change from one version of the variation to another. the speed of the music might vary... but the musical notes don't change.

do you even know who she is??????

try and find a more complex version of that variation. cuz i don't think you will.

    -blair and josh :0)

  • you people on here who think the choreography is not good.

    its amazing.

im a ballet dancer and yes, she has done it perfect and its simple but amazingly brilliant.

    stop with the negative comments!

  • Pretty video. Shame she's a fascist.

  • No offense but its not a very good video. As a ballet fanatic I have searched for many ballet videos and I'm afraid I have to say that this is not one of the best. I love her costume though.

  • yes it is. she did an amazing job.

it is original. i wouldn't say that.

i have been in the nutcracker and as clara.

and i am hoping to become a famous ballerina.

shes has done an amazing job!

    bravo!

  • The coreography is quite TOO simple but good dance
