This is among the best villain death scenes I've ever seen.

Actually, I loved the writing for Barkis in this scene. The confidence he showed throughout was almost unnerving, and the way he viciously struck at the long-dead relationship between himself and Emily really cements the character as a psychopath.

Actually, I love the writing for Barkis. A lot of his lines, including his toast ("Here's to Emily: Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Tell me, my dear... can a heart still break once it's stopped beating?") have stuck in my head since the first time I saw this film, and they do a great job of conveying how cold and psychotic he is.
