@gvman3670 - Not so-even the epistles themselves state they should be copied and dispursed throughout the churches-refer to and quote each other. The Roman church began to get "authority" after Constantine, which was resisted by other churches. They were not in sole custody of copies of Scripture, it was everywhere, and even in several lauguages. They have to this day 500 "majority" text manuscripts some date back as far as 50-90 AD. It's an interesting worthwhile study.

@gvman3670 - Not so-even the epistles themselves state they should be copied and dispursed throughout the churches-refer to and quote each other. The Roman church began to get "authority" after Constantine, which was resisted by other churches. They were not in sole custody of copies of Scripture, it was everywhere, and even in several lauguages. They have to this day 500 "majority" text manuscripts some date back as far as 50-90 AD. It's an interesting worthwhile study.

This is a little disappointing to me because I have read New Age or metaphysical prophecies which claim that they are hiding books from the famous library of Alexandria (Egypt) - the one that burned. I don't understand the mystery, the church is a business, plain and simple. I'm sure your parish priests are interested in saving souls, but the hierarchy of the church is the same as executives of any major corporation, they are interested in leveraging whatever assets they possess to maximize profits. History tells us that they are very good at it. As for secret documents, like all private corporations, they have trade secrets that they'd like to keep proprietary, but there's no magic there.
