replace the bigger gear if that dosent work check inside the transmition and take a look at thoose gears

the gears are stripped and or the gears got stripped in the transmission , and btw people , before you even dare reply to a video , plz look at the date that the video was made in and the funny thing is that he probably had this issue fixed the day after he made this video which was on Oct 18, 2009 and ohh what do ya know , it's December 3, 2011 , jeeez people

Center Diff. Or one of the others. Had the same problem. If not either of the 3 then change servos.

Oh and check to see if the motor is getting extremly hot after doing that for a few minutes (about 5 min at most), that will give more reason to my answer

Im sure your answer has already been answered but just some input.... I had a problem like this and it was because the motor got wet. now due to the fact that it is "water proof" i would send it in to traxxas under warranty and get it fixed. hope this helps. Not all product are perfect but thats no disrespect to traxxas... I LOVE THEM!

@peterchan65 well it depends, the summit has a low gearing transmission, that means that its a "high"torque "low" speed truck and the e revo is a high gearing transmission that means that it aint that strong but its fast

@powerking230 the tires dont have enough grip. going full throttle on a speed run is practically a death sentence. (in otherwors, too much power for the tires) but when I drove my freinds 2wd slash, It had plenty of control, because 2wd has less power than 4wd ya know?

@twisted337 i was using the wrong gearing with the setup i had so it overheated and fried the esc. i changed the esc and got a different gearing and the problem went away

Definitely the ESC if you call traxxas they will send you a new one for like 20 instead of 120 or so! when you call make sure you say you just got it within the last year

Hi,sorry you are having problejms with your 1/16 e-revo vxl but i think i could help because ive had expirience with this truck. first there might be a tiny stone caught in one of the gear teeth in the transmission so you should take the transmission apart check the gear teeth and if theres a stone to remove it take a flat head screw driver and slide it between the gear teeth and check to see if the gear teeth are are broken or gear binding or go to traxxas.com hope this helps!

I have something similiar to this wrong with my mini erevo... Well at least I think it's similiar. So I bought dual lipo's from maxamps.com, replaced the pinion gear. Ran it and now when I push the throttle I just get a high pitched squeeling and the wheels occasionaly barely turn.. After about three seconds off this I can smell burnt/melting plastic. Any ideas?

My esc became fried when i kept on trying to run it just like u did... Its too much pressure on the esc and it cant handle all the power and having nowhere to go...now it doesnt go on!!!! Well good luck!!!

its either the gear mesh is to tight or your missing a tooth on the gear..or inside the trani you could be missing a tooth or a gear is comeing loose from the drive shaft and just needs to be tightened..good luck with your car :)

hey can anybody help me? i bought a 1/16 e revo and after i drive it like 30-50 feet away, it just loses control, wheels go crazy, ect. To be able to make that stop and drive it i have to run up to it, (like touch the antenna to the car) then it drives again and as soon as it goes 30-50 feet away from me again same problem again.

ur rear diff gears are not cantacting because there ground down . they need to be replaced . my friend had the same problem. theres also a video on youtube that describes it

That's why, it's the fact that you've treated it very badly that it stopped responding correctly, I have the 1/16 E-Revo VXL Brushless and Slash 1/16 VXL Brushless and I take care of them every day, what you need to do is bring your RC Car to your hobby shop and ask them for an inspection (diagnostic) so they'll find the main problem and will tell you what parts need to be replaced, I would say $50-100 probably...
