I remember watching this back in the day January 5th 1997. The Goon's last WWF appearance. This was a rough time to be a fan. The summer of 1996 brought us some of the most dreadful gimmicks in history. We got such future hall of famers as The Goon, T.L. Hooper, Salvatore Sincere, The Stalker, Country singing Jesse James, Flash Funk, The Headbangers, Freddie Joe Floyd and Lief Cassidy within about three months of each other...and people wonder why I watched ECW and WCW at the time.

@atomicbolt This wasn't even close to the original broadcast match. At least three or four minutes were chopped out of this thing. The middle part had Goon mounting quite a bit of offense against Taker, including hitting him with the hockey stick while the ref was out of it, until Taker broke the stick in half over his back. As you can tell from the ref being on his feet at one moment then on the mat the next, the match was edited. Not sure why though...
