You play ok for a beginner. But is it worth showing? No musicality on the Bayan and boring to listening to these qaidas in this manner. There are more than a couple of thousand of people who can play this.

i'm indian, and im not going to hate, he's really good, the reason it doesn't line up (assuming this isn't just a well done fake) is just because of webcam frame lag and encoding deficiencies in flash video.

thsi gu is incredible if guys simply herd this and not saw it you guys would have loved it. its not the colour of his hands but the speed and accuracy of his hands. i am an indian tabla player however i have mnet many white "gora" tabla, chenai, dholak, naal, harmonium players in my time. just becuase sum1 is white doesnt sotp them from being able to play. becoz if u go by this ideas of u have to be desi to play an indian instrument then we cant play piano, drumkit, guitar etc etc

It would appear that the audience is not too knowledgeable here. A learned one can tell from the theka and the tone and quality of the Bayan that this player is intermediate and has a long way to go. He probably knows that, and could well come good in another 15-20 years time. Its a hard old life in Indian classical music.
