Beautiful view on the bridge! They just started making bike and jogging trails around me but when I see a trail like those steps, I pause from the jogging to explore. Very kewl... love videos like this! The stick your friend has is key though on these type of trails lol. It's important to a.) wack the webs out of the way, and b.) keep your mouth closed while traveling, never sure what you'll walk into haha

I know your pain though. I had a couple trails I would walk during the summer at night and ran into plenty of orb weaver webs. I swear they are trying to catch us. I just had some fishing line with a weight I would swing around while walking. But they really are neat spiders. Nice shot on yours.

Generally when someone needs to get from point A to point B, whether it's walking/driving/riding... they do so without looking at or exploring the inbetween. That's not bad, it's just their choice, but like you, I can't help but take back roads and experience desolate locations wherever I am, and I've lived in many cities across the US and traveled to many foreign countries... always a fun adventure. Your right it is a Golden Orb Spider. There venom isn't potent enough to harm humans. Usually you just get itchiness in the area of the bite and it clears up in a couple days.

@meloliver619 Those aren't fangs; they're pedipalps. But Nephila pilipes (golden orb weaver spider) does have big fangs. They're not aggressive, though, and are unlikely to bite you. If they do, they're not toxic to humans, but the bite will smart. Only the females grow huge (and the one M13 showed isn't very big for this species). Often on the web you'll see several tiny spiders... those are the males.
