  • Kid at 1:52 is going to be a killer babe!

  • four years later, this is still my all-time favourite youtube video. my baby sister and i still watch it. she's 6 now.:)

  • Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful!!! Thank you

  • So beautiful!

  • this is the true beauty of the black/african female...unaffected by european influence. too precious!!!

  • I'm not going to sit here and tell anyone that they NEED to, or MUST go natural. You dont have to if you dont think you should. But i also will not agree with the mindset that anyone NEEDS chemicals to "manage" or care for their hair properly. Rubbish.

  • I dont understand when black people say they burn their hair to death because its "easier" to manage...let me ask you this: If the relaxer option did NOT exist....what would you do? Simply not comb or refuse to take care of your hair? Stop the BS. All it takes is patience, care, and embracing what sprouts from your head without feeling compelled by sociery or some notion you have that it needs sodium hydroxide to "look professional" or "presentable" or 'pretty". BS.

  • my eyes are bugging out at 00:39......goodness, WE are beautiful. Look at that child's beautiful mane....

  • Teach girls to take care of their hair early they'll always love who they are and what they have "Natural Beauty" no FAUX:)!!!! Love your vid! Thanks.

  • 0:41 beatifull im soo jelausee :D

  • pretty babies :)

  • Man I remember the barrettes and beads and I love the sounds they made when I walk and run lol

  • great pict!

  • Wow these girls are not cute at all what so ever no matter how remote.

  • @SuperJwwilliams wow. your mean.

  • Very beautifl, I can look at this all day, send more please

  • little black girls are the cutest

  • Three year's later, this is still our favourite video, my baby sister and I. She's now 5. Thanks!

  • what song is this instrumental 4?

  • wow not cute i will put perm in my child hair and i will put grow in 2 seconds it work but man them girls looked like boys

  • @TheRealImaniLovely Yeah, until she goes bald from the chemicals. Then who will look like a boy?

  • beautiful :')

  • simply beautiful :)

  • Regardless of how anyone wears their hair its beautiful if they are happy with it. Black woman I know relax their hair or their childs hair not because they want to mimic white people but b/c it seems like its easier and it's glorified in alot of cultures. Even whites with curly hair straighten their hair. As a little girl I wanted a relaxer b/c I wanted a ponytail. I have been natural for 2 years and recently began my loc journey and I have loved every phase my hair has been through.

  • black people don't relax their hair because they want to look like white people, they relax it because it is difficult to manage, and it is easier to control when it is relaxed.

  • @rachel4779 That excuse dont work anymore

  • @rachel4779 Yes, some is out of laziness and not taking the time to learn OUR hair, and risking thinning and breakage due to using products and techniques not meant for curly/kinky hair. But, some of it is also due to brainwashing and the inability to wake up and not only except ourselves but to embrace ourselves. Some black folks think straight and long hair is prettier and more professional looking...sadly.

  • To cute!!

  • Love this video. I wish more Black women wore thier hair natural. Your so Beautiful!

  • Just be happy if you have hair, cuz if you didnt have any...(sigh) then you'd be wanting any piece of it u could find v_v I thank god for my long kinky hair & wouldnt want it anyother way

  • Black is SO beautiful!!!

  • I have never witnessed so much beauty in one place! Thank you. You made my day much brighter with this video.

  • I'm Glad They Invented Perms Like "Just For Me "

  • uh the baby is naked 0:11 but still a cute baby all the babys are cute

  • they are so cute!

  • Adorable.

  • beautiful!!!!

  • Cute girls. I want to hug them.

  • black is beautiful .........love the hairstyles

  • At 2:31. is that just your average 3 strand braid? I have a friend who adopted a little black girl and she almost has her hair shaved cuz she can't do anything with it. I want to try and get her to grow it out a little, she'd be so cute! so if I can help her with it I will.

  • Three strand braid, braided loosely.

  • They have a lot of oils for little black girls. A good one to use is TCB it's a conditioning oil that will grow the hair really good. Have her massage it into her scalp atleast once aday and that should get it to growing. Go to a black hair care store though, you can't go to a mainstream hair care store. A store that cators to black hair is most likely to have more of a selection. Ask what kind of conditioner and shampoos to use.

  • @grac27 Kudos for this desire to help. Our hair is truly our crown. I hope by now she has stop shaving it and found a black american woman who can comb it for her or has learned how to comb it herself. *q*

  • Parents should readying Little black girls to become future mothers and marrying good black men.

  • Bless your soul... Unfortunately.. Im stuck with a young black woman.. Brainwashed by society

  • hmm i jus got my hair semi texturized and i'm 15. it was sooo hard to say good bye to my 100% natural hair T_T but it was sooo hard to manage. i think some black girls espesially with thick nappy hair like me can straighten them out a bit since we werent blessed with softy coolie hair like others. u know? especially since my hair is short lol. but i still like natural hair.

  • @leesiangel are u jamaican?

  • @leesiangel Have you seen that Chris Rock documentary, "Good Hair"? Semi texturization is still putting chemicals that cause irreversible damage to the scalp and body. Not trying to lecture, but it hurts to hear anyone changing their natural hair for a quick fix.

  • @leesiangel Baby ALL hair is blessed. "Coolie hair," "good hair," and all those other terms to describe soft wavy/curly hair is no better the tight coily/kinky hair. You can manage the hair, you just can't comb it like a white girls hair and expect the same ease and results. Different hair textures take different measures. Each individual has to find what works for their hair.

  • i like so much, the music too.

  • yeah i have thick black hair too but i was one of those blessed with soft curly natural hair and i doe eva want to cut off my natural hair children 2day are growing up so quickly

  • soooo cute!

  • BEAUIFUL! VERY B-U-T-FUL!

  • These children look so precious with their hair natural!

  • wow i love this.... it just goes to show how much we destroy or kids hair. mmmmmmmmmm intersting

  • beautiful...

  • the one at 3:12 is cute!

  • I got a perm at 6. I'm eighteen now, and I wish my mom could've allowed me to make that decision at my age now.

  • you can give a kid a perm if you know what youre doing and anybody that perm their hair MUST TAKE CARE OF IT! and i also do agree if against perming straitening the hair is also good but dont put too much heat to it

  • nice video!

  • This is a lovely video. It's great to still see beading with natural hair. I've seen quite a few children with beaded hair this summer, and it's delightful to see. It reminds me of when I use to get my hair beaded as a youngster, I loved it! It's a beautiful tradition, that I shall certainly pass on to my offspring.

  • i love those little fat babies :)

  • Yeah,I am tired of people giving little girls perms ruining their hair. They are getting person YOUNG like 8 or 9. Their hair is too young for perms. Even "kiddy perms" So it ends up comming out real easily.

    Sad

  • i agree with you. my mum gave me a relaxer when i was 3 years old and i never knew any different! i'm currently transitioning to my natural hair

  • i got mine straightened at 3 and relaxed at 5. the whole time, i was wishing for puffs. i thought you could wash the hair straight. i begged my mom to do it for me. she never gave me any answers or reasons or anything. she just continued to do what she did. as soon as i got to college, i cut that mess off. now, my hair is healthy, thick, strong, shiny, and reliable. it is long too. and that is almost five years later. i couldnt be happier. i will never do this to my future daughters!

  • The year was 1982. Playin Double Dutch in the middle of the playground, jelly sandals, shorts, tank top,the icecream truck music, and my hair french braided and beaded! The good ole days. Seems like yesterday. It was fun being a little girl.

  • More like 1998 for me but I feel you ALL the same!! :-)

  • Did YOU live on my block....cause I have the same memories...I loved being a kid. Jelly sandals were the BOSS! lol Thanks for sharing!

    Peace and Love

  • it was the same in 1992. lol, except my mom never let me wear jelly sandals no matter how much i begged. and she hardly ever let us get ice cream from the icecream truck. and i still dont do double dutch. but all my friends did all of this. dont forget the kool aid and pickles in a plastic bag.

  • Our beautiful babies......

  • @Biddie74 I so Concur! *q*

  • Cute video! Love the song. Tho why is it that only a few of them get long hair?

  • i think its all about the way we care for out kid's hair. some people know how to take care of our hair, some dont. i saw alot of those girls with recieving hair lines...

  • A few of them have short hair because they are still growing. The more they grow the longer the hair will get.

  • also black hair can look very short but when stretched out it's actually quite long

  • Nice, very nice, we do love our hair.

  • My hair was always braided in some sort of style when I was a little girl. Small box braids, flat braids at the top for a ponytail and small box braids in the back, beaded, etc. My hair use to be so long too. These little girls were BEAUTIFUL.

  • Nice & Beautiful

  • So beautiful.

  • beautiful!

  • Simply Amazing!

  • these little girls are so cute!

    loved it

    great display of different cultures

  • Very cute awesome video...very real LOVE IT

  • brings back great memories..... every girl wanted their hair beaded :-)

  • This video is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful expression of our roots and history. Thank you so much.

  • the lil girl at 0:09 is sooooo cyuute X

  • agreed!

  • simply breath taking

  • Oh my gosh all these girls are so frikin cute o love 0:14 i just wanna pinch her cheecks

  • I can't understand why anyone who looks anything like these children would want to relax their hair or try to mimic white people hairstyles...the hairstyles in these photos really go with the faces...exotic, dramatic, beautiful, stunning!!!

I'm white...I could never pull off these kind of hairstyles... :(

  • @bluese

    ITS SOCIETY

  • @bluesette82 not everyone who look like these girls try to relax their hair XD just some stupid parents who dnt like dealing with their children hair :)

  • i used to where lil cute lookn beads and braids until my hair got uncontrollably big and scary long..... :) ha ha ha im good with it lol it just grows really fast i have never cut it lol i just let it relax and stuff dun wanna over work it.... :)

  • Coooool. OUR hair is like MAGIC!

  • Very emotional here, to remember some of my childhood hair styles. The true crown of beauty is a woman's hai. That is a gift of YAH.

  • I wonder if black women know how beautiful and unique they look on braids. That wig and relaxing of hair is totally stupid and fake. Braid your hair, it makes you look totally like a queen. Stop relaxing and trying to look like your European sisters. BRAID!!!!!!

  • BEAUTIFULLLLL thanxx good job good idea !!!!!!

  • Thankfully, there are black women who haven't gone through all of these styles.

  • da freak is that.....snakes comming out ha hair @ 1:29

  • lol......it's not the baby's fault.

  • Belle, tres belle.

  • Been There! Done That!lol.

  • I love watching the pictures. Thank you for posting.

  • Ok, I'm sure every black woman that has seen this, has said, "I've rocked just about everyone of those styles." lol

  • This is excellent! Such beautiful children!

  • :d amazing video!! its so hard to remember that; YES our race IS beautiful too...but this definitely serves as a reminder :D

  • This great video. Thanks for making it. It shows a great mix of different black girls from around the world. I love it! & the music is perfect.

  • Ces images sont très belles. J'habite en Amérique, mais je peux vraiment rapporter. Nous sommes quelques belles personnes, n'importe où nous sommes !

  • 0:40 has a pretty good afro!

  • weird? its from Erykah badu

  • weird music

  • I loved this video thank you so much for posting.

  • some are cute

  • beautiful video some hair styles i really liked some i didnt but beautiful children non the less......does ne one think that the girl at 3:08 looks like master p a lil bit???

  • OMS! THAT HAIR AT 0:40 LOOKS AWESOME!!

  • Girls in every culture around the world have their hair styled in various ways with or without chemical treatment, so why put down this one in particular?

  • Beautiful video, showing the love and attention given to caring for their childrens hair.

What I dont understand is why this un educated racist "gamer1987" chose a childrens site to vent his hatred, Do I smell a Paedophile in the air!!!!!

Strange how he managed to be looking at childrens hair!!!!!

  • very pretty girls love 0:36

  • very beautiful young girls and hairstyls! ill be sure to those styles in my little girl's hair;-)

  • But yet your genes match chimps so well. LOL you caucasoids are funny.

No need to bring your evil to this video.

  • Hey I'm mexican, moron.

Anyway as I was saying... I heard that niggers are statistically stupider than every other race in the world. Discuss?

  • Idiot, did you hear that civilization began in Africa. So how is it, niggers can create a system that is mimicked and abused today by you idiots.

Why not get informed before you try to attack someone through cyberspace. LOL, Blacks are stronger, more intelligent and more diverse than any other race on this planet. Get real, are you even here legally in this country.

  • Thats right. let him know!!!!

  • to gamer1987your dummer than i thought a mexican? lol and you dont like black people? some of your ancestors are black. so are you racist against dark mexicans?

  • do you lack melanin thus such a comment?

if so then b4 u abuse africans look at urself 1st.have u ever realised u look like an unfeathered chicken ready to be stewed. shame on you.

  • This is my baby sister's favourite video on Youtube. She loves seeing beautiful black girls like herself! Thank you for this.

  • btw sentimentalcrab, beautiful video...i added it to my natural hair playlist. thanx so much for this.

  • beautiful...lets keep the same hair as adults and see just how beautiful we will look! natural and free!

  • The song is "Love Of My Life" By Erykah Badu.

  • i wud luv 2 hav the hair at 40 secs :]

  • what's the song playing?

  • Their skin, hair, and eyes all look very healthy. I can tell they live in a place where they don't eat much processed food. If you notice many of us in the hood eat a lot of junk food, lots of meat, lots of fried foods and sugar. We gotta step our vegetable and water game up. It really makes you look good!

  • how CUTE is the girl at 1:11?!?!?!?!!?

  • this was such a great video. Thanks to the creator of it.

  • Wow, at least I now know that my four years of French between middle and high school actually paid off. Lol, I actually understood almost all of what I read.

  • black is beautiful

  • Black is ugly.

  • Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Although, I do not share your opinion.

However, our heavenly father is one Lord and the creator of us all...all flesh, of all races and all colors. Like the rainbow in the sky, he created all the variety of colors of mankind. If black people offend you so greatly, just tune off, turn the other way & move on. I'm sure there is something out there better for you.

Search your heart and mind for understanding, search for truth and seek God! For God is love!

  • to gamer1987 do you like little girls or something why are you on here?

  • Sure, that's why the majority of people try to look like us by tanning their skin, putting botox in their lips, getting butt implants, curling and braiding their hair, wearing earrings the list goes on. Ignorance is ugly and that is obviously what you are. You're just like everybody else who is afraid of the truth.

  • thank uuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • Everyone knows black beauty is real and prevalent but no one wants to admit it. Why?

It can't be because of pride, because what do people like that have to be proud of? It's nothing but arrogance; misplaced and uncalled for arrogance at that.

  • I agreed with u until you said wearing earrings lol girl everybody wears earrings.

  • I would have to disagree. I think that it's the most beautiful, but I am not so lowly that I will put other ethnic groups down to prove it.

Black people, the first people, the people that were made in God's own image when he molded the first.

Black isn't ugly, you are just ignorant. But you can change that. :)

  • i love this video, the girls are so adorable and the hairstyles are great.

  • Hey some of these pics looked like they were taken by my French friend Gobou in west Africa. He is a wonderful, wonderful man. : )

  • i loved it!

  • PWETTY ooh that was so adorable!!!!

  • I love this video it just demonstrates how beautiful we are no matter what society says beauty is. I plan to show my daughter this video because she wears locs like me and want her to see how beautiful she really is regardless of how her hair is. Just like how we are the originators of trends, inventions, etc., we are also the origantors of beauty hands down!

  • BEAUTIFUL children! When I have children I vow to NEVER put chemicals in their hair! If they want a relaxer they'll have to be 18 and legal to make their own decisions.. I LOVE THIS VIDEO.. Thanks for posting! *****

  • isn't it amazing how we use to be natural when we came out of our others womb. parents wouldn't even think of putting chemicals to their childerns hair until they are about 7 or 8 and how beautiful it is. then they for some reason feel the need to perm or press the hair thinking that this looks better. love the video the eyes of those african girls are so beautiful like they tell you voulmes about thier selves. thanks for the post.

  • at 2:27 that was me. i loved it. i never permed my hair or put weave in it when i was a kid cuz my mom wanted her kids hair to be chemical free and iam glad for that today. this is such a beautiful video.

  • to think i was just like this...especially the girl eating from the pot...lol that was so me...thanks for posting this

  • LOL - that's the best part, right?!

  • How beautiful. Simply beautiful.

  • I love the hair in your vid. thanks for putting it together. Its so pretty

  • Why don't little black girls wear ponytails with ball barrettes anymore? I love that! I mean, like how Rudy Huxtables hair was. That's how I wore mine. I never see that anymore. It's either worn down or in braids, locs or twists.

  • Rudy Huxtable...she was a cutie kid! Hey, there's a sister on here by the name of Barstowmama and she's had locks for a long time. Maybe you can ask her about taking them down or any other questions you may have. Thanks for commenting on my video :-)

  • Yup my hair was like that too, maybe its the new generation of mum's that don't do it

  • Can locs be removed safely without shaving the head? I would be skeptical of putting them in my little girls hair. She may not want locs when she's older or when she's an adult, and she will have no choice but to cut them off, right?

  • Locs can definitely be combed out. However, it can be a long procecess. Also, all the hair that's shedded during the growth of the locs will fall out when taken down(that's normal) & the person can lose up to 3 inches of hair. You should talk to a locktician.

  • nice those lil girls are cute

  • I went natural about 5 years ago and never looked back. I locked up about 3 years ago. I decided from their birth that I would never put my daughters through that. My 7 year old has had her locs for nearly a year.

  • Beautiful. You've saved her years of anguish.

  • Love it, love it. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for watching.

  • What a sweet vid! I wish my Mom had never permed my hair!

  • Ditto

  • I was just commenting on another vid yesterday about hair and stated many young black girls have never had the opportunity to learn what their natural hair feels like because their mom's cook it and fry it when they are young.

  • That's a sad reality, but with knowledge comes change.

  • Yes they do. I grew up with a mother that didn't know what to do with my hair. She began subjecting me to chemical fire creams at the tender age of 7 and even before that as young as 5, I can remember being tortured with the straightening comb. I suffered many burns to the ears and neck.

  • lovely
