The actual meaning of this song is sarcastic. The singer (Brandon Flowers) was bullied by a guy named Andy Messersmith in High School. (Not the baseball player.) Well now Andy is a gym teacher at the same school while Brandon Flowers is the successful man he is today. So the meaning is sarcastic, and he's insulting Andy.

One of Andy's students knew the meaning, went up to him and said; "Andy, you realy are a star." So Andy put him into a headlock.

So I took this song on a CD to wrestling practice one day(p.s. andy messersmith was my coach) just to see what andy would do, so he looks at me "think this is funny huh, fine we'll put it on repeat ".....3 hours later of andy you're a star....strangley still liked it just as much lol. Andy and Brandon actually didn't dislike each other at all, and has free vip tickets to his shows whenever he wants. And andy is hillarious, has a job he loves, a great wife and 2 kids. He's still very happy.
