John SHOULD have made 20 movies after that......he's got plenty of material for some great war movies from the current cmpn against the left's favorite terrorist heroes, and can make some more "what if" stuff from the coming wars with North Korea and Iran (oops, did I say that?)
@EnemyofGeorgia You'll be happy to know that Red Dawn has been remade with the actor from Thor. The enemy will be a United Korea, for leftists in Hollywood made sure China as the enemy was taken away. The Conservative film festival screened the film in 2011 and it did very well. Look up the "Liberty Film Festival" on google and look up Red Dawn on google too, to verify what I just said. It's exciting as a John Milius fan.
@hyroller56 you have no clue what you are talking about. The guy is a brilliant director/writer. You may not agree with his world view, but you also have nothing to say about his own personal experience in Hollywood.
The reason liberals hate this guy is because he is pro America. Liberals hate America and if you support America, then you must be evil in their eyes. Liberals hate God, too. But they LOVE MURDERING UNBORN BABIES!! They have orgasms when they think of those little babies they are killing. But a murderer? Oh no, we can't kill him. See how fucked up liberals are in their morality. They want to kill innocent life, but not kill people who rape and murder 12 year girls. Liberals hate good/love evil.
@LicoriceLain See, you must be a liberal- you have to ask what's great about this country. Liberals are the enemies of this country. Don't believe me? Ask any convicted criminal what he is. (I was in prison for 14 years- so I can answer this question). 98% of criminals are Democrats/liberals. Obama goes around the world apologizing for America. What a fucking typical liberal asshole he is. And what about Jesse Jackson? He hates America with a Hitler-like passion. (So does Obama.)
@MrCope456 I was asking what you think is great. Everyone has different opinions about is. And where are getting 98% from. Source plz, or it didn't happen. As for "apologizing", they don't really, at least nowhere near enough.
@MrCope456 And what does it matter if I am a liberal, conservative or member of the Mickey Mouse Club? None of that is relevant to the question I asked you. You see to think a whole bunch of people you don't interact with hate what you believe in. I want to know what you believe so I can confirm or counter the points you present.
This guy nearly accurately predicted the general time window of the recent death of Kim Jong-Il. If he doesn't support Ron Paul now, he will only prove himself to be an unprecedented hypocrite of epic proportions!
If someone isn't 'bankable' or difficult to work with they're not gonna keep financing them
Michael Cimino is leftwing. But his films costed too much money - he bankrupted United Artists - they did not make enough money and most importantly he was difficult to work with giving producers a very hard time.
When was the last time you saw a film of his in cinemas?
@particle409 but they never really became overt in their political views in the 70's and 80's, Rarely did arnold or clint or even bruce tlak politics at they heyday, now itmes are different, people are more educated on issues and ther eare more issues to be educated on. i think that artisically milius and arnold and bruce and eastwood should make films but I do not in any way agree witht heir ideologies.

Cinema gives the power to create fictional dream worlds, but not to live inside of them.

They make whatever makes money
With whoever will make them money

@KentAllard
I just looked through his films
His next film after Red Dawn, which was a success, was Farewell to the King and t cost some 20 million
And grossed 2 million
And then there was Flight of the Intruder: cost 35 million
grossed 14 million
He does nevertheless have a very successful career as a script doctor, performing uncredited rewrites on parts of a films script during production
It is odd that he doesn't mention any of these facts

Yeah man, why couldn't Arnold find any work after Conan? Same with Bruce Willis and Clint Eastwood. Look those guys up if you've never heard of them.

John Milius is one of these nerdy chickenhawks that never fought in a war.

@Woblesavvy He was actually rejected by the Marines because of his asthma. So, it's not like he deliberately avoided service.

I may disagree with his views, but I do love John Milius. His contributions to now classic films are unmeasurable.
