  • I love the "WHOOP" thing in the end!

  • Bliz way most of the time but if its very minor bugs thats fine

  • Blizzards way id rather wait a long time and get something really worth that waiting then play something right away and rage at every bug..

  • @Moutherfuckermike no you're not... You've ben hit of an tsunami and a eartshake i feel sorry for u and the rest in Japan if u still live.. Good luck with you're life!

  • just get minecrafted from installous

  • Lol, I still have minecrafted on my iPod, installous works like a charm!

  • @Westin95 haha yea!

  • minecraft on iPhone and you guys fucking talk about blizzard?!

  • @Gollum544 Not if you're good.

  • better late than laggy

  • blizzz way the best way

  • Blizzards way

  • I like my game finished thanks.

  • Assassin's Creed 1 - 2 - brotherhood is DEF worth playing. PLEASE PLAY FROM AC1, do not start from 2 or 2 BH. you might feel lost!

  • when a game is ready its ready, blizzards way for sure.

  • when a game is ready, its ready. blizzard's way for sure.

  • i like when i have to wait for patch, do you know how fun is to see how this people fail, for example when i saw the old man's head spinning in fallout new Vegas. that made my day i guess even the week, every time i think of it i laugh

  • @ywiy

Yea game devs build so much anticipation like with E3 I don't want to be teased with a game coming out like a year and a few months later.

  • I WANNA PLAY FINAL FANTASY 14 BUT I DONT WANNA PAY FOR IT EVERY MONTH

  • I think devs shouldn't announce a game until prior its release, prolly about a 6-8 months, if its too early then hype goes up and expectations go up. If it to late, then no ones gonna have money cuz everybodies out buying other games.

  • bethasoft needs to learn a thing or million off blizzard, so yes i'm going to go with "quality control" development. GT5 is another great example

  • I wouldn't wait 10years to play a video game. I rather they release the game with minor bugs then patch it, rather than waiting.

But if it to the extent of the game not even playable, I rather wait.

  • @jvn09211

And there in lies the problem. When do you deem a game to be playable?

  • Furbie? Noooo! Not again!

  • Blizzards way rules. But what new company can afford to spend ten years on a game? None.

Games like torchlight are a good alternative. Small, polished games which give the developers time and money to create bigger projects.

  • FUCKING PLAY ASSASSIN'S CREED.

Oh my God. seriously. It is possibly the best series to start in this gen. Layne do it dammit! Check it out!

  • creed is awsome

  • yes check out assassins creed.

    Assassins Creed FTW

  • I prefer public alpha testing, but as long a development cycle as needed, much like the first Guild Wars, which was in testing for 2 years before the release. It was a completely different game.

  • Blizzard way! just do a beta and open it for people that pre-orders. that way you get a little money before it's released instead of releasing a bugged game.

  • Um that game is for teens?

What is wrong with the Japanese...i've got nothing literally against them but some of things they makes are just wrong!

  • For everyone who wonders; The name of the first game is:

    'Record of Agarest War 2'

  • May i ask why when Agarest 2 was announced clips from the first one were played? =P Still its a great game, if you can actually bare the fan service >.< Still, goods heads up.

  • the blizzard method, because than you don't just play and forget about the game. You play, and play again, and play again, and play again... than you get pissed that you've poured so much of your life into something that gives you nothing in the real world (unless you're Korean, than it gives you cold hard cash) so you break the game disk over your knee... And in another month you miss so much you run out to best buy and buy another, and the cycle begins anew!

  • I love assassins creed. It's got its flaws, this makes you either love the game or hate it. I think brotherhood will be awesome, will be playing it soon. I love blizzard, a lot of developers claim to have a fanbase, but I think blizzard is one of the few who really have a devoted fanbase. Developers like Bethesda and rockstar with their own flavor and style also tend to have a steady fanbase. I think these are the true future of gaming and not development monsters like EA.

  • I believe I do rather like getting a taste of the game, and being able to play it while they fix the problems. Id rather not wait 10years after they announce they are making a game just kinda bothers me that d3 has been in the works for so long and im still waiting. Also, its free game play of a new MMO who cant be stoked about that? :)

  • Definitely Blizzard's way. First impressions are everything, people just need to learn to be patient. Look at WoW's patch 1.10. People demanded that patch be released asap and constantly whined on the forums about how long it was taking. Blizz listened, released it, and the servers were broken for a week.

  • I don't know who these people are saying that blizzard has the better method. Anyone that endures the dreaded patch day will agree with me when I say, regardless of how much time they take, SOMETHING always is buggy. Great games none the less, but unless it's like starcraft 2 with some 12 years between it and it's predecessor, it's gonna have bugs.

  • @thegreattaiyou They make them excellent. There is no better way. Don't release early.

  • First off, i love your whoop! outro. And with your QoTD: I would prefer the blizzard way but thats way too long, as long as the game isnt broken like New Vega then its all good.

  • the blizz method isnt.. exactly the best way.

i agree that blizz games are the best ones out there, by far!.

But without the other ones, what would we do in our spare. bored time :D?

  • @Cycloud Ya if only 1 game was out each year they wouldn't make enouph money and we would have nothing to play :)

  • @Cycloud Maybe play more quality games? I hate sorting through the shit.

  • You've never played Assassin's Creed???? Are you insane? Go buy all of them you fool!!!!

  • @jmovlogs I played 10 minutes and liked what I saw, should I get them? like I love RPGs and Strategy it seemed kind of strategy... good to get it?

  • But, you have to remember, Blizz has a shit-ton of cash to do so.

  • @dcdanchalmes Why does Blizz have a shit-ton of money? Because everyone buys their awesome games!

  • Worth waiting for is much better. Look at games like MW2, ODST, and CoD3. All were rushed. MW2 had so many problems and still does, ODST was Rushed and was ok but by far the worst Halo game and CoD 3 was only developed for 8 months. Need I say more. Why bother getting a game early if it will suck

  • That was not the case with World Of Warcraft. It was full of bugs and shit at release!

  • Comment removed

  • blizzard method is the only way to go. It's so sad that gamedevelopers these day take comfort in knowing they will bring out a buggy game. So sad.

  • @Slacker1081 Either that or they can't afford to post-pone the release as much as Blizzard can.

  • Failcom (funcom) likes to make great games but releases them with out really testing them, so they are buggy and have almost critical errors in their games for a few months... Great games that no one plays because of the first month that they try the game its buggy...

Blizzards way is better, there is a reason their name is so well known with a fairly low amount of game titles out for the years they have been a game company.

  • I'd rather have the game with a few bugs if that means I get to play it a year earlier. If it's popular there might be an active modding community to patch things, and community patches tend to work well and get released quick

As far as serious, competitive gaming goes, and now we're talking GSL levels of prizemoney, I like the blizz way better.

Also, WoW was buggy as hell when blizz first released it

  • Bugs are part of the gaming experience. I'd rather get to play a glitchy/buggy version of something than have to wait for forever for it.

  • I kinda like the Valve way of waiting ten years then having things broken and fixed and broken and fixed through patches

  • Blizzards method, not only does it help polish the game, but all the people get to bond and build community's while also screaming at blizzard for delaying it...

  • Honestly it all depends on the game that your talking about here if its a multiplayer then working alot to fix obvious bugs is needed but when it comes to things that aren't then the best bet is to send it out and see if others can find any. Blizzards methods have functionality but I pretty impatient so beta testing every now and again probably satisfies my craving for something new otherwise I just start playing old stuff and it doesn't feel the same.

  • Blizz's method.

  • About the Japanese ratings: In America and Europe we rate games for teens in wich you get to (have to) kill other people. Is 'loving' people unsuited for our children but is killing them okay? Our rating system seems a bit off balance to me.

  • I would prefer good games fast. It is possible, look at Bioware. They pump out high quality games like crazy.

  • I'd rather wait than be given some half-finished piece of crap.

  • Blizzard didn't spend 10 years, they spent 4 years. :P

  • @mit871chell there was definitely alot more than 4 years time between bw and sc2

  • @WackoJacko1193 They didn't start SC2 RIGHT when BW came out...

  • @Garmose yeah, okay i know, but even so, took waaay too long

  • @WackoJacko1193 No it didn't. It was def. worth waiting for.

  • @Garmose yes, i never said it wasnt worth waiting for, i said i waited too long, lol

  • @WackoJacko1193 If it was worth waiting for, then you didn't wait too long now did you? =)

  • @Garmose i am a very patient indevidual, and judging by the comments i see all over this video, alot of people arent lol, people complain that bungee takes too long with halo games... HALO! that pumps out a new release every half year! (mild exaggeration lol) so for alot of people, it was too long

  • @WackoJacko1193 Halo fans are ignorant. We shall not bring them into the mix of "gamers". And fair enough. :P

  • @WackoJacko1193 No, it was in production for only 4 years, blizzard's development team however was not working on it until 2006, since they were busy with World of Warcraft.

  • @mit871chell lol your fucking retarded.

  • @DarkGamer101 Actually I think you're the mentally handicapped individual; since you cannot coherer an intelligent and meaningful conversation. Instead you resort to a more primitive means of communication which results in you expressing your feelings through blind, negative and ridiculous statements with absolutely no evidence to back it up.

Direct yourself to eurogamer and read articles/wow-held-up-starcraft-ii-for-a-year.

  • the early release way. sure blizz is good at ironing out kinks but if every game took ten years to develop we wouldnt have a lot of choices

  • yes got to go with the way blizz dose it

  • agreed with the whoop comment

  • blizzards method

  • the blizzard method only works if you are making a damn good game, as opposed to EA's method of we'll put out anything and just hope we make enough money to cover the costs of shitting out one carbon copy after another. God forbid we see some actual thought or originality put into games.

  • That whoop at the end needs to stop happening forever.

  • @fractald I love the whoop!

  • @fractald YES! It's not just me! Layne has really improved during the run of the show, but I just can't understand why he kept that annoying "whoop" after the critique he received on the first show...

I even try to leave the page before the end so I don't have to hear it...

  • There is a reason why Blizzard is such a huge company today and some other game developers have failed to reach the same heights. :)

  • Spend time, do it RIGHT.

  • I prefer that they release the game READY TO PLAY so it doesn't need a patch. Might create more waiting, but so what. I have other games to enjoy while I wait.

  • Quality > Quantity but that's in close debate concerning boobs..

  • @CaptLogun Well, I would rather some really perfect boobs than be surrounded by a bunch of saggy ones.

  • blizzard all the way. valve also released good games.

  • Blizzard did the right thing. Did you guys ever read on their forums during the beta? There was so much whining and trash talk because of buggs.. During the BETA!! Seriously, good thing they waited so long.

  • @nejtilsvampe lol like there's not a ton of bugs atm at least on eu servers ( sc2 i mean)

  • @jajebiewpizdujebana soo.. you saying they shouldn't have waited so we'd have had more buggs? great logic buddy.

Also there's not that many buggs at all... You're a "glass half emtpy"-kind-of-guy aren't you?

  • Polishing the game as much as possible is the way to go! No bugs.

Well, after playing the infamous Gothic 3... uhh.. that was the last Gothic title for me.

  • Considering Blizzard way is possible maybe to 2-3 dev studios in the world, I will say, that it should always be golden middle: no class A bugs, but fixing everything in current generation game is impossible.

  • Blizzard, it really disappointing to get this buggy game. It sort of ruins some of the fun you have with it. First Impressions really.

  • blizzards way

  • Blizzard has a proven track record that has served them well. Sadly, it's not financially viable for 95% of gaming companies out there, which is a damn shame. Quality over quantity.

  • I prefer when they release earlier, but only with minor bugs. Talk about 50% early and 50% Blizzard.

  • Blizz are so slow though -_-''

  • Years and years developing... but blizzard as an example? They do patch A LOT. I'd say that method is the Sony or Apple method, they tend to delay releases to reach perfection more than anyone. It is a common mistake in the world today to push products to completion and release before they are ready, and not only for software, take modern mobile phones as an example.

  • @johanullen then u don't know blizzard u dumb shit, every company has to patch their games for obvious reasons!

  • @maartendesmet no need for name calling as if you know blizzard developer personally. The only reason you would ever need to patch a product is because it is not good enough, e.i. not completely finished. Things are better now but back when WoW first came it was so fucking buggy it was barely playable and it was patched on a daily basis. Know what the fuck you are talking about YOU dumb shit!

  • @johanullen the fact why they have to patch is because of unforseen problems, and thats the good way. i could care less about what u say about wow. patches don't always have to be because of the game is not good enough... sometimes it just needs a change, like in sc2, most patch changes are balance issues, they can't make the balance perfect before ppl start discovering all tactix etc etc...

  • @maartendesmet my arguement was not about why they patch but that they do patch. and back in the days they patched because the game was bad, unfinished, ask anyone who played from the start of vanilla. There are many examples of games that have never been patched, mostly because it wasn't possible but these games were often put through more testing, at least in comparisson to the complication level of the game. Blizzard might be very good, but they still release unfishied products.

  • @johanullen i'm done with u, u'z just dumb :p

  • releasing an unfinished product is never a good idea in my opinion.

  • fuck blizz way, fuck waiting

  • STEAM for teh win

  • blizzard... but itl still have bugs

  • Blizzard's way is the best damn way

  • Well maby 10 Years is a bit mutch but a delay is fine for me i dont wanna be stuck im any more wall's

  • as long as the game is worth it i dont mind waiting, and with blizzard games we always get that.

  • the blizzard way......i prefer not to falll through the floor in a game :P

  • Blizzard's method of game development is best, because it gets the bugs out and it also becomes an insurance that the developer will fix the bugs. In other words, if the developer has to stick to the project before it get released, then the game will receive its full attention. If the developer releases the game first, then the bugs and balancing might not be fully fixed given that the developer starts another project.

  • There is a reason why every single blizzard game is pure gold.

  • @yehnahbro But he's calls himself a gamer, he should've at least played a mainstream game like AC once.

  • Blizzards way

  • @scviper SC2 didnt have many bugs when it was released, most problems i saw was the new battle.net and some balance issues. The game itself worked just fine for me and never had any problems with bugs, only battle.net 2 fucked up from time to time. MMOs always have a "bajillion" bugs, but imo blizzard get the big ones fixed very fast while the minor ones takes some time.

  • I wouldn't give Blizzard as an example of a company that polishes their games before publishing them.

  • The OLD Blizzard way is the best way, but lately even they've had a bajillion bugs in SC2 and WoW patches. Not only that, but they're taking their sweet time fixing some of them...

  • umm.... Blizzard is still fixing SC2 as we speak, at least 2-3 patches have come out since the release.

  • @WillCall024 The reason that is, is beacuse all the low level players whinge and bitch about how OP this is and how OP that is and it's all imbalanced...

  • The Blizzard way is the Best way

  • @morpen1234 okay i agree that i love how refined starcraft was when it came out, but if people can deal with bugs for a little while, they can provide feedback and the problems will be solved much faster than for the game company to refine it by themselves, so ultimately the early release method definitely solves the problems quicker, but that is just personal preference, some people just cant take bugs.

  • bliz method. that way i dont get a game in its beta stage(see: black ops) when its released and have to wait 2 months anyways for it to become playable.

  • Blizzard method ftw. I mean yeah it took Starcraft 2 more than a decade to come out. But its a jewel. I would prefer to re use a jewel, than to use cheap stones.

  • i prefer blizzard method it may take longer but when it's finnaly there you are so happy and everything just goes the way you want it better then your like nice its out and then you find some bugs and are doubting the game soooo yeaa :/

  • I prefer they just have betas so the product is released with minimal glitches and we get an early view of the game to see if we like it.

  • so many articles released every week, spending some extra time fixing the bugs before releasing will save us a lot of time. Blizzard ftw

  • WAIT TILL THE FRIGGIN GAME WORKS BEFORE YOU RELEASE IT!!!

  • Blizzard method! Much better :D I know you have to wait a long time to get one of there new games, But It is sertaintly worth the waiting time. :)

  • Blizz Method.

  • I love blizzard (hate wow, but love diablo and starcraft)

  • i think blizz method is better

  • Layne, please add the news links in description. Great show! :)

  • @soulhunter1809 On consoles maybe. The game is despised and loathed on the PC's, the home of FPS :P

  • The Blizzard Way ofc-.-

  • nice drawing

  • FFIV is out?

  • Blizzard the king of Gaming! Diablo III is going to be awsome!

  • Blizzard FTW!

Ol yea and T for Mature ... ?

  • I want blizz method aswell

  • For every bug I find I punch a baby. So you think the developers would know better.

  • @dustink50 lol

  • I think it really depends on the game.

For example SC2-online game where the fairness is a big matter-the blizz method is way better

but if the game is minecraft-like where fairness and atmosphere don't matter i'd like the early-release-ish things

  • Blizzard method FTW

  • blizzard method FTW

  • I prefer the "blizzard" method, it's just pisses me off when I play a game that is crowded with bugs

  • blizzard's method. Not sure how anyone could say the opposite, a game released very buggy shows the motivation of the developers is to release it fast without a great deal of respect for quality or the community as a cash cow as opposed to a good finished product.

  • Blizzard's method. Starcraft 2 was so worth the waiting time. I love you Blizzard.

  • Assassins Creed FTW !!!!!!!!

  • dude, plz tell what's the song at the end

  • You haven't played any AC???

    What are you waiting for?

  • delay it a little so we don't have to get too many fucking bugs or lag.....

  • Waiting for games can be good, but when they're like GT5 and take 6 years to come out and Diablo 3 and take over 10, then yeah

  • aslong ther aint any major bug ther ruin the game i dont mind them come out early and fix it later :)

  • i have an unused beta key for final fantasy XIV if anyone wants it

  • i prefer bugs. i think its exciting getting it early and feeling the rawness of the game. bugs can be super fun. Thumbs of for DL Rock Priests in Priston Tale. Anyone ? Anyone at all?

  • I prefer it when games come out with no bugs. And now every game that's released is full of bugs and it annoys me. What happened to the days when games came out with no bugs at all?

  • @hughzshooz Because in the past games were a whole lot more simple. I don't know if you've ever tried to code a next gen game, but it's sure as shit no cake-walk.

  • I like playing games that are not buggy as hell. Also go play all assassin's creed games! First one was stupidly repetative but its worth it for the story and the 2nd game is just amazing. Now im waiting for pc release of the new one :(

  • Definitely like waiting for a quality, polished game. Nothing's worth waiting and getting excited (and lets face it, we all love finally picking up that game after we've been wait for sooooooo long) for when you get it home and it's all buggy, servers are slow or down ect...

  • should play all the assassin's creed games they were awesome also i like blizz's method alittle bit on some of their games. there is no problem taking the time to make an awesome game. if it got released b4 it was ready and you have to sit there through all the bugs...yeah you will probably loose alot of your fan base.

  • Layne, you should definetely play Assassin's Creed 2 and Assassin's creed 2 brotherhood if you haven't yet

  • Blizzard method, altough could be a tiny bit faster then a decade.

  • What's the name of that first game?

  • anytime i think of blizzard method i think of Starcraft Ghost... push back 15 times and then dropped..

  • I don't mind if the games are alittle buggy like black ops as long as I get my money's worth.
