A great bonus ending for this might have been the clip from 3rd Rock from the Sun where Lithgow picks up Shatner from the airport and asks how the flight went.
Shatner says, "I saw something -- out on the wing!"
Lithgow recoils, "The same thing happened to ME !"
When William Shatner and John Lithgow's character met, on "Third Rock from the Sun", Lithgow asks Shatner how his trip went, and Shatner mentions seeing a thing on the wing, during his flight. Lithgow says something to the effect of, "That happened to you too?"
3:44, both versions: Ew, ew, eww! Especially the Twilight Zone version...it's like the gremlin wanted to kiss the dude. Stay away!! D:
Nice job splitting the two versions up and timing them like that.
It's good to see the people at the end of the more recent one discovering the damage of the plane; they probably did in the Twilight Zone even if they didn't show it but still it's a relief to see that they know even if it's fictional...kinda funny huh.
"If I ever get my hands on the fuckin' son of a bitch who built that fuckin' plane............" That sample's taken from an animated comedy called The Jungle Burger. It's worth a look!
After coming out of rehab he changed his name to bill and went on to write the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous! but his greatest achievement was becoming Captain of the star ship Enterprise' another fucking fantasy

Does the original Matheson story finish with that reveal at the end or is it left to the reader to determine if he was insane or not?

John Lithgow overacts. It's like Ace Ventura doing Shatner's part.

Cool video, I like how it was put together, I never saw the old one. I used to be scared of that gremlin from the movie so much.
