  • I'm in love with these books

  • READ IF YOU WANT ALL 3 BOOKS FOR FREE :)

I just read all 3 books and their so amazing! can't wait for the movie(: and I also figured out this way on how to get all three books on

iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad, completely free! check out my video if u Want them! :) and you also don't need to be jailbroken! :D

  • When I finished this book, I felt torn... am I any better than people from the capitol? Was I entertained by the murder and violence of the hunger games? How was my enthrallment with the book any different than how the people in the capitol felt about the games themselves?

  • I have to read this b4 the movie gets out. I read twilight after the movie and it was so hard to get Kirsten Stewart out of my head with every line Bella had! Super annoying.

  • Great review. My favourite character is Peeta! I've read the first two, begun the third and am excited for the film!

  • I live this book

  • my favourite character was rue. i was so sad when she died:(

  • Nothing extremely graphic??? I am a little confused, but am in love with this book!

  • @cobrasb6 perhaps we have different ideas of what's extremely graphic.

  • i started reading after i saw the trailer. i am at book 2 now

  • @DavorNL right on :)

  • good review. I read it and loved it, there is some nice action going on when the game starts as you say

  • @couscousandhumus thanks for the comment!

  • Great book. All anyone really has to say.

  • @XxAUSTINxXGAMER9449 yeah, it's a great read.

  • The Hunger Games imo is very similar to a book called The Giver.

  • @AudioShuffleHD Oh my gosh.. That book.. The Giver, haven't seen that since 8th grade haha

  • @TheNanoArcher lol im in the 8th grade and we just finished it small worlld !

  • @AudioShuffleHD I've heard that mentioned a few times..haven't read that one myself though.

  • @AudioShuffleHD Yeah, it has the same vibe in a way. I am currently reading The Maze Runner witch is very similar

  • HOW DID YOU NOT GO INSANE WAITING FOR CATCHING FIRE? I had a really big problem because I read the series during finals... it didn't go well. I had to use a lot of self control to make myself study, and... I didn't know it would be that good! I wasn't expecting it! I couldn't put it down! Why didn't anyone warn me?!?

  • @candyland9865 I don't get a lot of time to read, but I can't wait to finish Catching Fire. they are page turners!

  • three books

  • I love the hunger games series. My friends read it and we pretend to be the characters. I'm suppose to b gale and that's fine cuz I'm a boy. Also I can't wait for the movie on March 23 so GO HUNGER GAMES AND GALE! And I'm not saying that gale is the best I also like other people. Sorry if I wrote to much but I just love ur review and the HUNGER GAMES!!!

  • @thezman661 thanks for the comment..no need to apologize, I like the excitement!

  • I cant wait till march 23

  • That scene with the bees and the tall blonde chick was pretty damn graphic when I envisioned it.

  • ive been really curious about this book but im a HUGE wuss and things freak me out very easily, even just very emotional or suspenseful stories, do you think this will scare me?

  • @HannahBearie Some of the sequences during the games might be a little graphic. I would say if you're really put off by reading details of someone getting killed, this may not be for you. if you can get past that though, it's a really good read.

  • @criticnic thank you! :) this was extremely helpful

  • @HannahBearie haha bro.. bro, this is def not that graphic. You want graphic, then read some of Ted Dekkers novels. (Although you Don't want graphic...) The Hunger Games isn't too bad. Collins doesn't describe the 'bad parts' that much. I have read alot of books where they are very, very descriptve and Collins is not that descriptive concerning the gore parts. READ IT! :)

  • I'm under 13 and loved it

  • Guys that read books? I really find that attractive, like REALLY attractive. lol

  • Great job i also loved this book and i am a 13 yr old guy

  • BEST.BOOK.EVER.

  • loved the review :) but I do have to say, the romance angle of the book isn't "not serious, and not a major part". It's a huge part of the book.. maybe romance isn't the right word, but the love triangle that's created isn't ridiculous, cheesy, annoying, and stupid (like twilight), it's deep, complicated, and has profound subtleties.

  • i think that you should check out the warriors series. :D

  • Catching Fire and Mockingjay review please? :c

  • Where did you get a hard back? I can never find one.Just a paper back.

  • @MsChococat99 it's a publishers edition ordered for the science fiction book club website.

  • @criticnic Thank you!

  • @MsChococat99 Target sells one

  • @MsChococat99 Amazon dude

  • After hearing my friends rave madly about the movie coming out, and recalling that I barely paid attention when watching the trailer months ago, I thought that it's time to see what the fuss was about. The plot was able to entice me for a day, which was how long it took me to read it. I could not describe it either after finishing. But I knew I wanted more, so I picked up Catching Fire in digital format the several moments after i finished THG. Worth the read.

  • Awesome review keep it up : D

  • @megaluigi2 thanks!

  • thumbs up if you read this book and almost shit your pants when you found out a movie was coming out.

  • @xXRikkouXx ya i no rite ps im not thumbsing up u mad broski

  • I agree 100% with you, i am 15 and i enjoyed the book, i could not put it down. this is an amazing review, thank you for this video.

  • @893301508 thank you for watching!

  • I know. I couldn't put the book down either!!

  • North America was the former panem. :)

  • Sounds like battle royale.

  • @wesleysonic yes shes been accused of copying it :P

  • @SkinsKenya ah ha :)

  • How did u nt talk bout peeta?!? Favorite character!!

  • Wow dude your review was very excellent! I also hated Katniss at the beginning, probably for same reasons as you, and I think you did a good job without spoiling anything!

  • @DNEGameBlog thanks so much for the comment!

  • Thank you for your review on the hunger games it sounds good :)

  • @TheEeeeeeliffff you're welcome, it's surprisingly good :)

  • Great book review!! Now I want to read it! :)

  • @EmeraldAngel8 you should! thanks for the comment!

  • I really like your reviews and enjoyed the book as well.

For some reason most reviewers think they need to act like Jim Carrey in the funniest movie, making up crazy faces and talking weird. So I end up watching a few seconds of their reviews and moving on, trying to find a normal talking guy. lol

    So, thanks!

  • @srenex haha, thanks for the comment! glad you find my reviews watchable :)

  • I just finished reading the book tis morning. I looked at the movie trailer. Now I'm sooo excited for it to come out! First I didn't get the whole excitement about the movie coming out but now I can't wait! I don't get what you mean with ' I didn't like Katniss' character, didn't like her in the beginning' ?

Now I'm going to read Catching Fire :D

  • @criticnic You should definitely check it out if you have the time! It's kind of an oldie and a fairly simple read (first book came out when I was in elementary school- I'm a high school kid now XD) but it's still a thoroughly enjoyable series. First book is Gregor the Overlander, and it makes for an interesting way to pass the time. :D If you're not reading anything at the moment, you ought to try it. ;)

  • @PoncifyingSince1995 thanks for the info! definitely sounds like something I'd be interested in. and I like that it's a simple read :) I'll have to add it to the list!

  • hey also um the movie is coming out in march if you didnt know... im going to see it for sure!

  • The Hunger Games is amazing. I finished the whole book in just three hours. I couldn't put it down.

  • @PeircedinBlood wow, I envy your reading speed :)

  • The thing I like aboutThe Hunger Games shows that Katniss doesn't need boys to keep herself alive, unlike Twilight where Bella is constantly needing Edward or Jacob.

  • @TheSmileeeyface thanks for the comment!

  • @ssraper300 Haha, that's my perspective on the Hunger Games, too! I keep looking at it and wanting to buy it, but I love the Gregor series so much that I'm afraid I'll make too many comparisons to take it seriously. (Gregor is one of my all-time favorite series! :D)

  • @PoncifyingSince1995 have not heard of the Gregor series, but sounds like I need to check it out!

  • I've been thinking a lot of why I love this book so much, when it's about killing people. But I realized it isn't about killing people, it's about finding freedom and hope when all is lost. When it seems you won't stand a chance. The Games is an example of life, you might feel like killing people you hate them so much, you just want to die you don't know what to do. But try your best because you'll always find hope. It's so poetic. That's my idea of the book anyways. :)

  • @meeperize nice comment. thanks for watching!

  • best series ever in my life ever read... i never saw my self reading the book or any other books in the series but this is the shit man...

  • @OVERPOWERDGUNS123 haha I agree. thanks for watching!

  • @criticnic and also the correct genre of the this series is post-apactoliptic

  • Great review!!! I'm actually not a constant reader but when I do read, I tend to not like it if it bores me, do u think even the beginning of this book is good? Is it boring as a whole?

  • @johnnyv272 not at all! I don't get to read often and don't always finish a book too quickly but this one is hard to put down. thanks for the comment!

  • love your review :) people either rave about being in love with the main characters and give a boring hateful review, but you addressed all aspects of the novel, thanks! :D

  • @2bamalam thank you! glad you enjoyed, and thanks for watching!

  • i never read it but it will not compare to gregor!

  • @ssraper300 well you can't make a statement like that unless you've read it :) haven't read Gregor but sounds like I will have to.

  • @TammyThuyTran Haha me to. :)

  • I hate reading. But the Hunger Games has changed me. ;o

  • @TammyThuyTran same here, this one is hard to put down :)

  • This book was an exciting read, that I also thought was very well written. I couldn't put this book down after I started it. I liked the fact that the plot mainly stayed focused on the action and Katniss' reflection on the meaning of the games, rather than the romance between Katniss and Gale/ Katniss and Peter, which you find in a lot of books which are told from a female perspective. I found the character of Katniss quite relatable and quickly warmed to her. Overall, it's a fantastic book.

  • @sneakyVeronica I agree, great comment. thanks for watching!

  • I like your hair in case you wanted to know lol!! Oh and great review :^)

  • @tytippy2 haha...thanks for watching!

  • ...soundas A LOT like Battle Royale.

  • @bailandoismylife Pleass don't start this whole rip-off thing on youtube. There are forum for that, and besides Koushun Takami doesn't really seem to care, so it is just the fans who stared this whole thing.

  • @bailandoismylife I didn't say it ripped it off. I just said it sounds like it. Nothing wrong with making an observation.

  • best book ever i read the whole series and im very sad i finished it all

  • Review cherub!!

  • i'm the 11,111 viewer :)

  • @TheVictta nice :)

  • Thanks for the critique. I now feel better about my purchase!

  • @LadyCole3 cool! hope you enjoy. thanks for watching!

  • March 23, 2012! <333

  • is catching fire and mockingjay as good as the hunger games

  • @armygamer97 yes it is i finished all three books in a week. I tried to take my time on them but it was hard and mockingjay best ending to the series alot of twists and then catching fire at the end makes you want to buy the third book to find out what happened lol but then one of the best books is the third book :) and im a guy haha

  • @kimeraldfanforever thanks for letting us know. I still really gotta read the second two!

  • is catching fire and mockingjay as good as this

  • @armygamer97 yes and no

  • Omg just finished about a week ago and it was my favorite book by far and i totally agree with you on everything

  • @ToeJamProduktions thanks for the comment!

  • @criticnic no problem man, great job and keep up the good work!

  • @TheRomeo58 very cool.

  • Why 4/5 when you made no negative comments?

  • @gurbaj1 it's a great book, but not my favorite. it's hard for me to give a perfect score on something I guess :)

  • @criticnic whats your favorite book

  • OMG !! I'm in the middle of reading this book and so far it's the BEST book i've ever read.

  • @dreamstone1000 glad you like it

  • I didn't actually like this book, I didn't find that much action in it and what action there was was kind of boring cuz it was talking about how she felt about the action not the action itself and I found that kind of boring. Oh well tho that's just insensitive me so don't hate on me for it

  • @NightshifterXD to each his own I guess :)

  • Comment removed

  • @NightshifterXD Maybe becoz the viewpoint lies on Katniss (1st person). Therefore, the action described is based on her understanding. If the author used the 3rd person view, then u would read more on the action in general without perspective.

  • I gotta say Haymitch is the best character in this book. He's the cool strategist behind everything.

  • @balmoraman he is a cool character

  • Best. Book. Ever.

  • i'm a guy and i read hunger games

  • @12234d cool :)

  • I've herd about this book quite alot, and since the announcement of the movie I looked into it and now I would like to read this book first now, Thank you for this recomendation. GOOD JOB!

  • @ilikelessons you're welcome, hope you like the book!

  • i am new to this book i just buy the 1 book to day i love it so far :) real good book :)

  • @dannyboymovies awesome :)

  • I'm never reading comments for books again too much SPOILERS ;( Good book though

  • @ShadowShifter1000 yeah, might have to clean some up :) thanks for watching!

  • i wonder how peeta died.

  • @AirsoftDude31 reeaadddddd. he doesnt die.

  • Amazing book. I picked it up for english class when we had to have a choice reading. My friend had told me about it, and now, I freaking love it so much. I always put myself and this girl I like and have dated before into the role of Katniss and Peeta. I am now 90 pages into Catching Fire and it is good as well, not as good as The Hunger Games, but it has just as many twists.

  • @rellik26889 thanks for the comment!

  • There is 3 books in the series. They are all good

  • Best book I've ever read

  • @asoto157dude right on :)

  • @asoto157dude Same. :)

  • Thanks! I'm gonna get it out of the library now, sounds good! :)

  • @starfruit1715 awesome, hope you enjoy it!

  • The series have violence, drama, romance, war, ect. Something for everybody. Though obviously it is targeted slightly more towards girls.

  • best book i ever read in my life so far.

  • @MrMugetsuu cool :)

  • Im like 20 something pages into it in english class (its the book we are reading) and i hated it. Prolly because i didnt quite understand it. But this video gave me a better outlook on the book. Thank you, very helpful.

  • @MrAhrim no problem, glad my vid could help! hopefully if you keep reading it will grow on you some more.

  • Ur so right katniss grew on me and so did peeta! u just have too get used to her character

  • there was 13 districts but it was toxic bombed

  • Now I'm sure what to grab next time.

  • @cheshireismycat cool, hope you like it!

  • Dude this book is fucking awesome!

  • @dudeitsart Haha...I agree.

  • I love that you're a guy reading this, cuz all my guy friends are like "Why would I read a book narrated by a girl?". But it really appeals to both genders. I LOVE this book. This is one of the few books that I can't stop reading when I've started. I actually stayed up until 6:30 a.m. on a school day reading this becuse I started it at 10:00 the night before. I just couldn't sotp! WHAT A PAGE TURNER!

  • @CliquesSuck101 Thanks! I completely agree with you. Thanks for the comment.

  • yes it also has the same concept as The Lottery by Shirley Jackson, that people are picked in a lottery for some misfortunate, i guess, consequence

  • @LivAwesomeAmor Haven't heard of that one..thanks for the comment!

  • I finished the book in one day because I just can't put it down! It was such a good book, just loving every details in the story. I reread it for many times and was never bored with it. I can't wait for the movie to come out. Hope it's going to be PG-13 instead of R. I don't deal well with all the blood gushing out of people's arms or legs being pulled out.

  • @crystalheartu yeah the details were very good. I hope the movie lives up to it. I can't really see them giving it an R since they will lose a lot of their target audience, so I think you'll be good :) Thanks for the comment!

  • I just realized alot of younger viewers were going to read my post below and wanted to say for those of you who take my advice and read battle royale. Keep in mind it is very disturbing. probably the second most disturbing book ive ever read right behind american psycho (maybe some of Palahniuk's stuff is up there too). just be warned, if hunger games bothered you at all do NOT read Battle Royale.

  • just finished the first book. it was a fun read but it was shallow. shallow charecters and shallow plot. you dont even see most of the deaths because of the first person narritive. and it panders too much to young girls with its dumb as hell love triangle and dress up sections. READ BATTLE ROYALE! its hunger games for adults. however i can see why younger and/or female readers may prefer hunger games.

  • @mastakilla64 I still need to check out Battle Royale, saw the movie but haven't read it yet. I'm sure it's better than the movie as that's what the case usually is :) Thanks for the comment.

  • @criticnic Indeed. in the movie alot of the charecters are just faces to be mowed down. in the book you get to know all of them before they die. the deaths are way more gruesome (could be good or bad), and the ending is way better (makes more sense) in fact the whole reason behind battle royale is better in the book than the movie.

  • i really like ur review! im a slow reader but i could not but this book down!! stayed up all night & now i have a headace ;p ill start "catching fire" today :)

  • @xxN00Rxx Thank you! I still gotta get around to Catching Fire myself..hopefully soon!

  • I have read all three books and I absolutely loved them. I agree that they are really well written. I just couldn't put them down. Even after you finish them, they stay with you and you look at things differently, at least I do. Great review by the way!

  • @FabulousFrostine Yeah I agree. Thank you very much for the comment!

  • I just started reading The Hunger Games. I love it. I can't wait to see the movie next year! Great review.

  • @guitarlover121618 Thanks! Yeah I will be very interested to see how the movie turns out.

  • @criticnic You're welcome. I just finished The Hunger Games and just started reading Catching Fire. So far, it's good.

  • @ichiromaster thanks for the comment!

  • @thelifeofabookworm cool! I'm looking forward to reading the second two.

  • @mydreamcast101 wow, I appreciate that! thanks for watching!
