  • If I may, I was a US Marine back in 82 serving onboard ship. Do you by any chance remember watching a Disney movie cartoon called the "The Fox and the Hound" in a large room? It was the ship helicopter bay. I was just curious after hearing you were a Vietnamese refugee. I was the only Marine onboard a particular ship with some specific memories. Those were certainly some interesting days.

  • After writing my entry below, I wondered a bit aobut vegans. It occurred to me that the wonderful world of grits might not be on your menu radar. Never ask a yankee how to fix grits. For some ungodly reason they add milk and sugar like it was Capn Krunch. For plain, its salt and pepper. Then you can add cheese to melt in it. There is a few other things unvegan. The cool thing, after leftovers have cooled. You can cut into squares, fry in butter..for supper.

  • All that looks really good. Cookng cornbread is such a great thing to learn. Im born and raised here in the heart of Georgia and its one of the top five menu items for a happy man. Every supper should have either cathead biscuits or cornbread..

Im not entirely sure what that macaroni stuff was. It tickled me to hear her say wheat and cream. If she meant "cream of wheat" yeah we eat that stuff down here too. Its a pretty distant second to grits (from corn)
