A blimp yes, but both zeppelins and blimps are dirigible, taken from the latin word dirigere 'to direct' - not referring independantly to zeppelins and their rigidity, but to all airships that can be powered and steered.
Thats not zeppelin. First all zeppelins are rigid airships (with the exeption of the zeppelin nt which is semi rigid). and all zeppelins are built by zeppelin (This non rigid blimp was built by goodyear(and was used to help create helistat).
They were scraped but some of the crew hide the envelopes in the Akron hangers. In the 80's they brought them out again and constructed a blimp useing the bags for the forestery service and logging, unfortunately it crashed in crosswinds and killed the engineer.
My crew in zw 1 was killed just after i was transfered to corpus christi on my wall is a blimp patch signed by members of my shop & sent to me. on it is my relief as flt rigger a man named Furney who died in the accident.he had a small baby ive never forgot him and wonder about his wife & child. bob dulin
The ZPG's are not rigid airships like LZ-129. The Graf Zeppelin II (LZ-130) was longer than the Hindenburg(LZ-129) from memory and she was scrapped for her aluminium?? The Los Angeles ZR-2 was the only ship Germany constructed for the US. Again this was scrapped
This a ZPG-3W early warning radar ship. Four of these were built in 1958. Gas Vol 1,516,300 cu ft. Length 403ft(122.83m), Diameter 85ft(25.90m) Powered by 2 x 1500Hp Curtiss Engines. Top Speed 80mph. Note the X fin (ruddervator). Were known to stay on station up to 4 days even in severe winters off the Atlantic coast. Damn Navy scrapped them in the end

I miss zeppelins, the only ones still flying are owned by big rich dusty farts.

It's a blimp, not a dirigible 'zeppelin'. 2 different things.

The LZ 129 was 245 meters long, can you imagine?!
Amazing, I wish they were still used more.
