The only difference is the ARCHITECTURE that the processors use. That's all. However, Macs limit the hardware you can use to what they /want/ you to use -- so that everything "just works"; instead of you having the exact PC you desire.

Mac's are better (for most things) and this is coming from a PC user. And for anyone who says that PC/Windows are faster and have better graphics and software just don't know what there talking about. Although the only thing PCs have over macs is that they can play more games (although I know hardly anyone who uses computers for gaming any more they just buy a xbox or a playstation- but lets not start that arguement)

Cheaper to upgrade? Mac's are one of the easiest systems to upgrade, the cases are made to open easy and the hardware from Apple, such as memory and hard drives are 100% compatible. And dont foget, all Mac towers now come with PCi ex16 for all the new line of video cards and most towers support up to 16 gigs of ram.

I've have two Macs, A G4 Powermac and an iMac, and two PCs and a PC laptop. I think it's irrelavant to rag on one or the other when you have used only either one of the OSs. After using these for the past 7 years PC gets my vote, for everything, Graphics programs, gaming, internet, design,everything.

Yeah, upgrade RAM, or you can take it in to the store to be upgraded for twice the price. AND what GOOD games can it play? or even a semi good game, or hell, a decent ok one. Name a few. And the MAC's on ebay are cheap because no one wants them. You can get cheap PC's on ebay, and buy cheap PC's new, im talking about NEW MAC's you can always find cheap used stuff.
