  • I read, somewhere, that the original effect was done by strapping the actors head into a paint-shaker like contraption. One of the actors had neck problems for years afterward.

Now, with NLEs and effects software, anyone can accomplish the same effect safely in their own homes.

    Ef'n amazing.

  • @Honestinwilkesbarre I believe all they did was record the actor shaking his head normally, but at an incredibly slow frame rate (4 fps). When that was edited at 24 fps you get the motion as shown above.

  • Silent Hill

  • i was looking for this...perfectly done.

  • I've done a video called 'Writhe' on my channel which includes a shaking head. Have a wee look if you have 2 minutes!

  • @ShaneMcD77 That was really cool! Some very nice camera and editing trickery going on there. Good job!

  • @OreoTheWolf Thank you. Yours was quite creepy too!

  • whoa! freaky-ass scary -- good job recreating one of the creepiest moments in cinema. Nice work!

Also thanks for going back to your own [rather nice, actually,] face and a sweet smile at the end to help "de-freakout" after the demonic looking vibro-head.

  • Kinda creeped me out a bit

  • NICE ONE! :O

  • where can i get the sound effect??

  • u should of closed ur curtains the lighting changed in the middle lol still great job on effect

  • did you broke your neck? lol joke...

  • ala vergaaa pinche gordotee

now do the same effect to your fat ass :)

  • Nice!! The problem is that ou are a fat funny guy! you can't scare anyone

  • @Adryomast I'm calling prejudice on this comment.

  • @OreoTheWolf You scare me...

  • @Adryomast

hahahahahaha I thought the same thing, then I saw your post and it made me piss my pants laughing

  • @Adryomast he's bit really fat though i think you're just looking for a flaw on him to make your comment seem funny.

  • Good bud I think that body should remain in the same position, by the way it's good!

  • Nice work! There must be a number of ways to use this for both horror and comedy.

  • Best I've seen yet.

  • Very good.

  • Nice. Pretty impressive.

  • how do you guys not know how to do this how else do you think he did it? idk maybe its cause i edit videos this is so easy to be. so lets pretend you had a video editing soft where such as sony vegas or adobe well all you really have to do is speed up the film its not rocket science guys. however i like this video i just dont see how you guys dont understand how to do this..

  • Superb job with the effect, considering the face that there is no lighting or good quality..

  • wow man it's Silent Hill

  • You just sped the video up that's not how it's done...

  • Id laugh so hard if u accidently smacked your head against the computer screen XD

  • Thankyou man

    u rock!!

    it worked awsumly

    ur d man!!!

    thx alot

  • That was fucking awesome!

  • The random blurring is actually cool haha

  • AWESOME!.. hey I'm thinking of making a video and i would love to know were can i get that effect and i would love to know if i can us it to for the body like put the efect in all the body.

  • you must of been pretty dizzy!

  • Nice one indeed ! =)

  • lol monster mash xD

i love the way you did that :D

  • that was very accurate, great job

its so simple..but so damn creepy

  • WUTS that SILENT HILL MUSIC?

  • lol. I like how you add the Silent Hill sound effects with it.

  • EPIC HEADBANG \m/

  • wow nice 5 stars

  • Keep working you can do better.

  • You always can. Not that this isn't good!

  • The "random blurriness" was actually a pretty nice and creepy effect.

  • When you were shaking your head, that sound effect sounded like the noise from Silent Hill, everytime you would come upon a monster or if you were near one, the radio would be static-y. Am I correct?

  • SH2's radio static FTW.

  • @Masterslosey it was the music that went with it is also of silent hill

  • Actually I thought the random blurriness added to the scariness of the effect. Good job

  • "Jacob's Ladder" is so friggin' disturbing.

  • that was pretty damn good!

  • well done...good made !

  • :D

    very well done!!!!!

  • Could you tell me how to do this?

  • Yeah, I was thinking of doing a tutorial closer to Halloween.

  • Sooooo...about that tutorial

  • yeah, I was on vacation the weekend before last, sorry. I'll get to that sometime.

  • I'm shooting a movie this weekend and really want to use this effect. I'm not sure if there's anything specific I need to do while shooting or if it's all in post. If you could let me know that'd be awesome. Thanks, man.

  • Just posted the tutorial today.

  • The Silent Hill sound effects made it epic.

  • haha, thanks. I was looking in my Silent Hill effects folder, but couldn't find any flapping sounds. so I just layered a bunch of SH sounds on top of each other to make it seem like craziness.

  • lmao

  • Haha, awesome. Not only kinda wtfish but funny as hell too.

I guess that makes two of us that need to loose some pounds. :p

  • Yeah, I've already lost like 30 lbs since July.

  • I, LOVED, tharrr..

You just take your glasses off nice and neatly.

Then all hell breaks loose xD

    Me likey~

    WolfRiz Approval~

  • Haha, thanks.

  • Dude, just watching that gave me a serious headache. You did damn good on recreating the effect though.

You have to be losing weight...

  • Wow that was creepy. Its still 12 days till Halloween though.

  • I know. Doesn't mean I can't wish everyone a happy Halloween and that people can't start getting in the spirit.

Also, thanks for saying it was creepy. :D
