The Dutch Royal family (The House of Orange) is still reportedly the biggest shareholder in the Dutch part of the group, although the size of its stake has long been a source of debate. Queen Beatrix, a billionaire in her own right, is the current head of the Dutch Royal family."
their 25% of shares = aprx. €5 000.000.000 every year
this is much more than the oil spill in the GOLF of mexico but who cares ....it is africa no one cares:: AND WHEN THIS PEOPLE START A FIGHT AGAINST SHELL IT WOULD BE ALL OVER CNN ....they don´t understand what this people are going through ...very sad and cold world
C'mon, give me a break. Why didnt you talk about the millions that have been extracted from Shell and other oil companies in the region by the Niger Delta militants? I understand amnestyint. wants Shell to just continue pouring money into the endless pit to anyone who asks for it
@shotsky94 There's an easy fix for that. Shell shouldn't drill for oil there. Both problems solved. Shell doesn't get shook down by the militants and the people would have their beautiful environment that they need to survive. I noticed that none of the people in the film worked for Shell, they lived off the land. SMHIS @ Shell not even hiring the locals.
@remoney I lived in Nigeria and dont tell me that nonsense that Shell shouldn't drill there. Do you have any idea how much Nigeria makes from oil revenues. Its more than 90% of exports. Nigeria doesnt even have one functioning oil refinery. There is no way they would ever have been able to do any of this by theirselves. Take your self-righteousness with you and shove it where the sun dont shine...Most ppl especially the educated realize the good oil companies are doing for the land...
@remoney contd....inspite of tough pressure from terrorist militants. Shell gives lots of money to the nigerian federal government via tax every year. The oil profits are shared by about 50-50 or 60-40. I'm not sure. But its something like that. Its the responsibility of the government to provide amenities for the locals and to impose regulations to prevent oil disasters. However, I'm not defending what the oil companies have been doing to the land...I'm just saying the position of a...
@remoney contd...Amnesty International is for shell to continue throwing money down the endless pit of waste and corruption. Amnesty International said that Shell should cough up 1billionUSD for oil spills, etc.....1billion from nowhere should just go to the govt where it will obviously be wasted and mismanaged like almost all funds are in Nigeria...
