I knew she'd be fantastic in this, it was made for her. She captures the extraordinary strength and frailty of E.M.; a woman who moves in a reality all of her own: condescending, charming, bitter, sarcastic, bitchy, old and worn then spurred on by her desperate need to get her hands on that fatal document. This role is a tour de force, an extraordinary feat for a woman of almost 60. to tackle this role. E.M. is on stage for almost the entire opera, singing always more until her final solo. TY
