  • May I ask a question, I accidentally ordered 2x 5400 (not realising how loud they are) typhoon fans, they are waaaaaaaaay to loud for my gaming pc. Would buying this controller allow me to slow them below 5400, or are they locked at 5400?

    many thanks

  • Could I use this if my motherboard supports only one case fan?

  • @nousername21 Yup!

  • i got the same and my 4th channel is broken the fan is at full speed and can't turn it down(broken) and i used to control 5fans at 1 channel

  • the temp. sensors... how do you install them...? Do you put it between your heatsink and cpu or what? same with video card?

  • man ur fans are freaking strong

  • Can you connect the controller to case fans with a 2 wire/pin molex connection? I would really like to control my fans in one spot instead of having to reach to the back for 3 of them. My understanding is it will but it will probably not read RPMs.

  • love the arnie poster

  • Great vid

  • Are these fan controllers compatible with every fan? I have a few stock fans in my case, and fan controllers look pretty cool but I don't feel like buying one of these, and having to buy new fans because they're not compatible. Advice would be greatly appreciated!

  • Yellow cables? nothing that Duct tape cant fix eh?

  • @TheWoWRevelation spray paint

  • What's the thing already on the computer (fan info?)

    Pliz anzwer

  • fans can be about + or - 10 percent, =10% of 1900 = 2090 so 2100 seems perfectaly normal to me! :)

  • with that noise i will trow a hammer to the pc

  • Hey James I was wondering if the Koolance coolant temperature senor 50k ohm. Would work on this?

  • Comment removed

  • Hey James, what do you use to cool your CPU?

  • to control the speed of the fans do you require pwm fans?

if not does it control the fan speed by voltage?

  • Is this better than nzxt sentry 2 ???? Please reply !

  • Useless review...

  • just wrap the cables in black tap.

  • i just ran out and bought it.... yay for me

  • is it possible to turn off the/dim lights on the display?

  • if you plug only the fans whitout T sensor, it displays only the RPM's fan or also a default temp?

  • @neo5632

It's hor his water cooling system. I thinks it's for monitoring the liquid level (never used a water cooling system so I'm not 100% sure)

  • My planned build will be yellow... That is if I can find the correct sizes of Yellow LED fans, sad but I can only find one.

  • what is this red thing above fan controller? It looks cool

  • @neo5462 Too me it looks like his liquid cooling's pump and / or reservoir...the thing that looks like an LCD / LED animated fan...its not. It's actually a spinwheel pushing and moving the liquid...at least that's what I think it is...

  • Heya m8, can I ask if you know if this fan controller fit the case Raven RV01? Because the front door, I am afraid that those controller sticks out so I cant shut the door.

    Thnx

  • Hey I have a WC questions. I was thinking about getting the Scythe Kaze Server or the Kaze Master Pro. Would connecting an electronic flow meter to one of the fan ports on this controller, allow you to see if the flow meter is spinning? The meter I wanted to use is the Koolance INS-FM17N Coolant Flow Meter w/the Koolance ADT-FM03 Flow Meter Frequency Adapter. If I used these, would I be able to attach it to one of the 'fan connectors' on the controller, and be able to see the RPM (flow rate)?

  • Comment removed

  • I also wanted to use the Koolance Temperature Monitor SEN-AP005PB and connect that to the temperature monitor connection. So that I can monitor my water temperature using the fan controller.

  • the cables are couloured because it is Ground, Neutral and the electric comming in.

if it gets broken it will be hard to see wich is what if all is the same

  • @looako yeah, thats why you sleeve them if you dont like it. :P.

  • @TheStandardOilBandit

Ye but people where complaining about the colors of the wires made it ugly..

  • Krusty the clown hahahahah

    ahaha legendary, nice review man!

  • yo James D is the liquid cooling connected to the fan controller?

  • @plunkmaster No, that wouldn't be a good idea...nor possible I don't believe

  • @SirJamesDTech cheers for the reply is there any way of controlling a liquid cooling system because my cpu atm runs quite hot, and my fans dont speed up or slow down it stays at the same speed continuously.

  • Hi pal, what´s the name of the lyquid crystal screen on the 0:18 min appears? and were I can buy it?

  • hi can you tell me what it is called the screen that has liquid you have with the Scythe Kaze Master

  • @breakjai That was my watercooling reservoir at the time

  • @breakjai EK-BAY SPIN Reservoir - Plexi

  • never mind, i'm pretty sure it would work but at $6 a cable... i'm not really that worried about the yellow and red cables $40 to have black cables coming out the back isn't really worth it for me. haha because I still have to buy the fans for my case :)

  • hey James, I watched the video a while back when you first did it, and didn't really put any thought into it before, but I was wondering, you know those nzxt black sleeved 3 pin fan extensions? do you think you can buy six of those and use them to plug in the back of the fan controller? just a thought I might be picking one of these up later this week, and if you think it would work I might pick up some fan plug in extensions while i'm at it, i'm going to be getting the 8 pin and 24 pin cables.

  • @unokilo321 It's definitely worth a shot! Shouldn't cost you a heck of a lot to try it.

  • The reason the wires are coloured is to show their function. Colour coding makes it easier to assemble and test products on the production lines, especially if humans are present. Even if there is no human input, it will take loads more time to trace a wire to its origin if it's not in the right place during testing. This, and the fact that quite a few budget modders(like myself) use these colour codings to modify outputs of certain features(I've rigged my fans to the 5V and 12V rails w/ switch)

  • Color coding wires is the way to go, aesthetics notwithstanding.

  • All cables aren't black to represent ground, positive, etc... you know.. So the child laborer putting this stuff together doesn't give you a product that will short everything out on you. Grab some cable sleeves and go to town!

Thanks so much for the review, making my decision easier on what to get for a fan controller, love your vids!

  • Wires are color coded to indicate what they do. All black wires are pointless. Sleeve em if you want a cleaner appearance.

  • Almost all fan specifications are xxxx RPM +/- 10%. Add 10% to your fans (1900 RPM) and you get 2090 RPM as a maximum. I'd say that fan controller is very accurate.

  • nice video i have a thermaltake do you think this was be compatible with the thermaltake A90?

  • What liquid cooling reservoir is that? And pump? Thanks:)

  • How do you install one these? Do you just plug in the fans to the back of the thing inside via a 4 pin connector?

  • @daharvster There are extensions that plug to the actual controller, which then you connect those to the actual fan cables.

  • @SirJamesDTech Okay Thanks :D

  • LOOK UP CABLE SLEEVING ON YOUTUBE

  • Yes, I have spent the night re-uploading the unboxings and reviews I've done thus far to this Channel.

I wanted all of them in the same place before I do my brand new unboxings and reviews.
