Well, it's not... It can be played either way. You get a bit of a different sound out of it but not much, so I'd assume that most people flip it the opposite of the one in the video so it'll extend the lifespan of both the cymbal and the sticks =P
That's just speculation, but I know for a fact that it's played both ways.

"A" for effort and definitely have talent - however - go out and get yourself a collection of RUSH cds or mp3 to find out how drums are suppose to played and especially Neil Pert drum solos ( watch?v=gEVrN9SdRuk ). im 11 and ive just done my grade 5 and i have only been playing for bout 18 months. there are hundereds of drumming prodigys the same or even better than kieran , tyler hudson for example. just not everybody has had the chance 2 go onbritans got talent. my house is too small to have an acoustic kit and they r too expensive, so i have 2 make do on a small electric 1. not every1 has the chance or money that kerian has

im 11 and ive just done my grade 5 and i have only been playing for bout 18 months. there are hundereds of drumming prodigys the same or even better than kieran , tyler hudson for example. just not everybody has had the chance 2 go onbritans got talent. my house is too small to have an acoustic kit and they r too expensive, so i have 2 make do on a small electric 1. not every1 has the chance or money that kerian has
