I might be misinterpreting that, but the sister of that guy in the hospital bed (Raymond) shows the typical reaction: "You cannot settle down with him, but you can choose life that you want." ... means there are other butt-buddies out there... no word of love... of his love to that guy. I think he didn't came to that point, because he wanted to choose another life. This drug was threatening his existence and he called a halt.

I agree to a point that we/all should get a grip - or at least, try and realise all that is happening is whatever 'escapism' (drugs/drink/sex) that someone chooses is only temperary.
It really must/should be a case of dealling with the underlines issues - I know - sometimes easier said then done...

I might be misinterpreting that, but the sister of that guy in the hospital bed (Raymond) shows the typical reaction: "You cannot settle down with him, but you can choose life that you want." ... means there are other butt-buddies out there... no word of love... of his love to that guy. I think he didn't came to that point, because he wanted to choose another life. This drug was threatening his existence and he called a halt.

I blame society for judging people. I think a lot of times if certain lifestyles were accepted, people living those lifestyles would not turn to using drugs such as this. It was obvious when the gentleman said it took away all those anxieties about the way his life was going. This is an excellent reference.
