To the board in general, I apologize if I my tone comes across as expressed with excessive zeal. However, over the last 8 years I have become OUTRAGED by what the Bush administration has done to my country.
Outraged by the egregious crimes that have been perpetrated in our name! - (invading a sovereign nation that was NO THREAT TO US! (Iraq), torture, disregarding the rules of war as outlined in the Geneva Convention). (cont.)
Outraged by the Bush adminsitations attempts (and worse yet successes) to redefine what it means to be an American! - For instance: Since when has America tortured people? Since the Bush administration took office.
Outaraged by the level of gall exhibited by the Bush administration! - After 9/11 I think many Americans were frightened and many others were enrraged by the attack. They wanted to know that SOMETHING was being done to correct this wrong'. And so, they allowed the current administration to gather too much power, with the hope that justice would prevail. (cont.)
However, the Bush administration preyed on many good hearted Americans gullibility. All that crap about: If youre not with us. Your against us. If you disagree with Bushs policies you were not a REAL American. Unfortunately, too many people fell for it! @$%@#$@! (cont.)
To those people who believed Bush's lies and supported his war with Iraq. I say you share responsibility for what he's done in our name! You are culpable for the Bush administrations crimes! (cont.)
The next six months are going to be critical for our country. If Congress (and the judiciary) doesn't move quickly to change the course the Bush administration has set for us. America is in more trouble than most can even imagine.
The 'rule of law', in its most basic form, is the principle that no one is above the law. So, the question before us is: Are we a nation of Laws, or of men?

So, I ask you: Do you value the moral high ground that America once possessed? (which btw, is the most valuable weapon against terrorism!) (cont.)

I ask you: Do you value the civil rights that so many Americans have died to give you (and died to protect)?
I ask you Are you going to just give them up, without a fight? Without so much as a whimper?
I ask you: Are you going to do something to fix that which YOU have helped destroy?
