@mightlife thanks for the compliment. in all fairness to the bags, i accidentally flipped the bike straight over backwards and the bags saved me, causing the latches to break. this is also after about 50 shows with the same bags/bike. i assure you they hold up pretty darn well and twisted throttle even has a more secure latching system in place for the top bags to prevent this from happening in the event that you ride like an a-hole like me:)

I destroyed one motocross bike when teenager by doing things like that (well, not so impressive) and had to spent many money to repair its power plant (technically was my father at spending the money). The video is cool, but if you do that to a bike, be prepared to buy a new bike in not so far in the future.

Maybe, i haven't an F800 GS and so you have much more information about it, Of course it's tough and can resist that an more, i only meant that if i had that bike, i would treat it as if it was a princess that need cure every day. A machine durability is related to how it's treated. But of course it's made to be ridden hard, it's a trail bike, english teatakers won't ride one like this! ;) Peace and paths in your way!

Trucker, I downsized from an 08 R1200GS Adventure to a 10 F800GS a few months ago. Much better for commuting and absolutely better in the twisties!. In my view, the only thing it gives up to the ADV is wind protection, which I have partially resolved by a clip on extension from Touratech.

@MedusalObligation i wouldn't buy anything that i abused either...in the end though, what is really getting abused? the suspension bottoms out once or twice, the brakes are used normaly, and the motor hits the rev limiter...no more 'abuse' than an average day on an adventure ride. this bike is sick!

@MedusalObligation You also have to think that this is probably what he does for a living. I've seen another vid with him on the same bike (as far as I can tell). This bike's probably well taken care of. He uses and "abuses" it on the track, but i'm sure once they get done with it at the end of the day, it's probably well maintained.
